I have just ordered a new iPhone 5 from the apple website and it comes as an unlocked phone. Therefore I need to buy a new 'nano sim' to fit the new phone.
Does anyone know where and how I go about doing this?
I've seen that vodaphone have apparently got 500,000 of these new Nano sims in stock, but are they only for people who have bought the phone through them?
Do you know any other networks or providers that are selling the nano sim, even if you haven't purchased the phone from them?
Any advice or tips would be much appreiciated.

Which is why in the UK it is not really worth purchasing an iPhone directly from Apple - it's a no brainer. You should always purchase through the phone companies themselves and you'll get a much better deal always.
I have been with 02 on a contract since I had my first iPhone and have always upgraded for less than half the cost of the iPhone directly from Apple.
I really don't understand why someone would want to spend at least £525 to £600 on a phone from Apple when you could get it for less than half the cost with the UK phone companies, unless of course money is no object!

in some some countries, the iphone is not sold officially, so you have to buy it from other countries where iphones are unlocked (such as france, uk...) . in that case carriers doesn't provide nano-sim or micro-sim (for 4 & 4s).

I wanted to clarify that Verizon has unlocked the phone for me before I left the US
The international sim cards that I have been able to locate in Norway are caled Mycall or Lebour.
They are labled mini-sim cards but do not fit nor are they as small as the original Verizon one.
I am out in the country-side now but will be in Bergen, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark over the next few days.

In what country? Virgin is a supported GSM carrier in Canada. In the US, they are a CDMA carrier. In the UK, they are unsupported. They may have Nano-SIMs there, but you'll have to ask them.

Probably, but it's always recommended you use supported carriers. Prepaid is a rather iffy subject, you probably won't get a whole lot of help here, but I suggest buying a StraightTalk Nokia E71 (has to be this phone), and finding a guide elsewhere for the prepaid activation.
