Can I buy a upgraded not a standard configuration in any apple store, not online, and how long do i have to wait for it, what is the protocol for it ?

Well thats my question, whats the protocol, i get in to the store tell them what what configuration and upgrades to ram or whatever do i need, and do i wait a couple of days to pick it up or how dose that work

Pleasr note that if you do order a 'built to order' MBP, avoid RAM and HDD upgrades. You can save money by purchasing these through third party vendors and installing them yourself. This will not void your warranty and Apple will still make a handsome profit.

I went to open Aperture and got the message that "Aperture can not be opened while it is being updated"..... I have thousands of photos in there and as soon as I can get access I will be dumping Aperture and moving to Lightroom. I used Aperture for all my photography work and only rarely used Photoshop. I spent the best part of a day moving Aperture files onto a Glyph 6TB StudioRaid in the hope that I could open the files I need on my MacBook Pro. I get set up and then find that I can’t open any of the files because they are all Aperture 3.4.5 or thereabouts and the copy of Aperture that I have on the Mac book Pro is 3.2.4. It cannot open the newer version of the files. The MacBook Pro is running OSX 10.6.8 I can't upgrade Aperture on there apparently.
I then go back to the iMac and dump the latest copy of Aperture, re-install Aperture Version 3 and it tells me " You can't use this version of the application " Aperture.app" 3.0 with this version OSX. I'm using OSX 10.9.4 on the iMac. I have NEVER had problems with Aperture until this last incident.
Now I am in big trouble. I'll set up an appointment at the local Apple Genius bar and see if I can talk to someone tonight.

Sure-glad to help you. You will not lose any data by changing synching to MacBook Pro from imac. You have set up Time Machine, right? that's how you'd do your backup, so I was told, and how I do my backup on my mac. You should be able to set a password for it. Save it. Your stuff should be saved there. So if you want to make your MacBook Pro your primary computer, I suppose, back up your stuff with Time machine, turn off Time machine on the iMac, turn it on on the new MacBook Pro, select the hard drive in your Time Capsule, enter your password, and do a backup from there. It might work, and it might take a while, but it should go. As for clogging the hard drive, I can't say. Depends how much stuff you have, and the hard drive's capacity. As for moving syncing from your iMac to your macbook pro, should be the same. Your phone uses iTunes to sync and so that data should be in the cloud. You can move your iTunes Library to your new Macbook pro
you should be able to sync your phone on your new MacBook Pro. Don't know if you can move the older backups yet-maybe try someone else, anyways,

time machine is an application, and should be found in the Applications folder. it is built in to OS X, so there is nothing else to buy. double click on it, get it going, choose the Hard drive in your Time capsule/Airport as your backup Time Machine and go for it. You should see a circle with an arrow on the top right hand of your screen (the Desktop), next to the bluetooth icon, and just after the wifi and eject key (looks sorta like a clock face). This will do automatic backups of your stuff.

I am in the same situation as Iooc, I live in Uruguay and the iphone 4s costs 1400 Us dollars. I have been told that this price is caused because apple does not offer a discount to the Uruguayan distributors, therefor they are buying at the same price as in an apple store.

Even a four-year-old MacBook should have come with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Leopard can run the latest version of iTunes; it will download and install pretty much automatically if you run Software Update.
You might first have to be sure that you are running the latest version of Leopard, which is 10.5.8. This, too, will download and install for you if you run Software Update. Just keep running Software Update until there is nothing left to download and install (you might have to run it more than once because some updates require previous updates to be installed first).
If you have a version of Mac OS X earlier than 10.5, then you can't run the latest version of iTunes. You will need to buy a more recent version of Mac OS X. You must be running at least 10.4 Tiger, and you can upgrade directly to Snow Leopard from Tiger. Apple still sells Snow Leopard for about $30 and you might find it slightly less at a retailer or on eBay. New AT&T Upgrade Eligibility Update (Apple Stores Not Aware???) *Important*

I went to my local AT&T store and informed them about this, and the person that took care of me didn't know about it, she was like "No, you gotta wait till 7/13/09 (My case) so that you will be eligible to upgrade to the iPhone 3G S, or you can do the Early Upgrade which is $200 more for both models(16 and 32 GBs)", but than I said that AT&T release this to those that will be eligible in the next three upcoming months so they can pay $199 for 16GBs and $299 for 32GBs, the guy that was next to her that was there was the only one aware of this update, so I kind of understand why is it that Apple doesn't know anything about this (since I called 2 retail stores and they didn't know anything neither main Headquarters) but I would like for someone in Apple to take a look at this and see what's going on, because where I live iPhones 3G S are in back order in the AT&T stores and since I gotta upgrade, my best bet it's going to AT&T, but I could purchase it at the Apple store because they do have in stock here, but than I checked in Apple's website, whenever I'm going to buy it it says that I gotta pay $399 for the 16GBs because I'm not eligible till 7/13/09 and again Apple does NOT know anything about this Upgrade Eligibility Update so they will charge me more, at the end I'm gonna have to wait till AT&T gets some iPhones 3G S and buy it there, but what ****** me off is that they have it in the retail store here
