I am trying to buy some apps through app world. I have paypal account but whenever I try to buy something. I am getting this error:
your transaction was not processed. Please try your purchase again. (Error Id: 30261)
I found this post which explains how to solve to above error. I will try this later because I have something to say in this post.
what I am trying to ask in this post is why can't I purchase apps using my Debit card? I can see only two options which are Credit card and Paypal. That is honestly very limited options for a world wide device managing company like Blackberry.
I live in India and honestly there are many features of Blackberry that make me say WTF..?
I will list out some of those WTF features here:
Low Battery life (1230 mAh) - Honestly, making the mobile somewhat thicker to have a good battery life would have been better.
Can't use my Network providing internet, which is cheap, on my Mobile.
Even if I have BIS, I can't access that internet to my laptop. I need to have additional network internet also.
Only two options to purchase any app i.e credit card or paypal. what for the users who don't have those two? (if you guys are planning to have your customers just rich fellows then don't launch in middle class people's market).
Man, I am really **bleep** off.. I don't even know whom to say this.. my friends just listen and laugh.
Please just tell me whether I can purchase from debit card or not?
PS: Apart from the above WTF features, I love my BB torch 9860 because of its design and ofcourse motion sensor. Many times it runs out of battery and I just see that blank displayed mobile to feel the beautiful design. (Expecting an update soon to fix the battery life bug)

Payment for app purchases is based on many factors, very few of them controlled by BlackBerry. If BlackBerry had its way, you'd be able to walk into your local corner store and purchase an app with cash. Many factors, including government restrictions, decide how you can pay.
As an example, here in Canada I can put an app purchase right on my monthly cell bill with my carrier, Rogers. That's because BlackBerry offers that service in Canada, it's approved by the government and Rogers supports it. As I said, if BlackBerry could do that for every carrier in the world, it would.

Canadians Can't Buy Apps With Itunes Credit?

I just purchased $75 worth of itunes canadian credit and I put them on my account thinking it will work. I went to purchase an app and all of a sudden I have to buy with a credit card instead of the credit I already have on my account. Apple can you seriously make it so us canadians aka consumers able to purchase apps with the credit we purchased from you.

* Not allow expiry dates on gift cards, gift certificates, and vouchers that have been purchased and have monetary value
* Eliminate inactivity fees, also called dormancy fees, that reduce the value of gift cards the longer they go unredeemed
* Prevent businesses from not honouring gift cards for purchases that are
more or less than the value of a gift card
* Require merchants to fully disclose any restrictions on use of a gift card on both the actual card and its packaging
To further my point, Apple definately does not abide by the last law (at least in the rest of Canada), as they say nothing on the card or its packaging about not being able to buy apps with it.

I redeemed my gift card in iTunes, I have a credit value, yet when I purchased an app through App Store, the balance did not come of off the gift card value, how do I ensure that all purchases are made using the giftcard?

I'm not under warranty, insurance or anything like that. The reps at the store when I bought my phone were not very clear about really anything with me and I'm just not sure if the contract is ONLY for iphones..? I had the same error when trying to update my apps on my ipod touch. I tried to input my security code numerous times to no avail. I also made sure my billing address was the same as what my bank had on file. To fix the issue I went into iTunes, logged onto the iTunes store, went to account settings and reviewed my recent purchases. Turned out that I had made a recent purchase and didn't have enough money left on my credit card to pay for it at the time. I paid off the credit card, and then input my security code once more and now it works fine. I've heard that some debit or pay as you go credit cards require a minimum balance, so make sure you have at least that amount in your account.

Get an iTunes gift card & redeem that in iTunes. You can setup an App store account without a credit card, but to purchase paid content you need a payment method.

You need a payment method associated with the country you are in. I would purchases an iTunes Gift card in the USA and use that as your payment method and then delete the card from the account. You may also have the change the addess in your iTunes aaccount t a USA account.

Don't do it... That verizon Edge will literally bring you over the edge should you try to leave, be sure to read the complete contract which they don't advertise correctly...
Verizon Wireless is basically a criminal who misleads their customers. My contract was almost up. I sign up for the Edge program, and the way it was explained to me, was "oh this way you can upgrade when you want (really once a year) and you aren't in a contract". Well that was a lie. I decide to go elsewhere so I call and ask what I need to do. They say "well, you are in a contract", (ok that wasn't told to me but fine) I ask what my termination fee is, they say "To get out of your edge program, you have to pay the $500 remaining fee for your phone ( Galaxy S5 which I was paying monthly, $25) and a termination fee for your service of $150."
HOLD up, so basically you are telling me that you guys came up with a way to charge two **** termination fees????? If I decided to take my phone with me, I could almost understand that, but If I give the phone back, why would I be paying for something that is no longer in my possession???
