Can I cancel PLEASE?

Just getting increasingly frustrated at the 'customer service' whilst trying to cancel my subscription.  Essentially my computer has broken and it will be a couple of months until I get it fixed so to save money I figured I'll just cancel my yearly subscription then renew it in November when my computer is fixed and I can actually use the products.
After a lengthy process I discover I have to speak to a customer service person directly.  Fine.  I open up a chat dialogue with someone and after a brief time it crashes or the guy goes for dinner or something and I'm left with 'chat is not available, please choose another option'.  It's supposed to be 24 hours but fine.  I call the number in contact option 2 and get 'this number has not been recognised' much to my dismay.
Last option is to check the forums.  All I see is lot's of people with headaches trying to cancel with responses from admin being: 'we can't cancel you in forums, here's a link to the closed 24 hour chat room and a phone number that doesn't work.  If those two options don't work try the forums!  Have a lovely day'.  Or something similar and I want to cry.
This ordeal is making me seriously consider Final Cut X...

    Thanks for the feedback. Now, before installing in, put a copy some place safe and you won't have to download it again, wasting bandwidth, time, and electricity. Why? Because the installer blows itself away during the installation—IMO, a braindead delivery system, copied from their iOS world, but totally unsuitable for computers.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

    If the speed of your internet connection is slow, this will affect the download time. Also realize that everyone and their mother are trying to download the update as well...servers get taxed to the max and the download can even be slow for those with the faster internet connections.
    That being said, I don't know if it's possible to cancel the OTA (over the air) download. You can effectively force pause it by disconnecting it from your Wi-Fi router until you CAN leave it connected to charge and update. I believe you can go to Settings/Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off from there. Realize though that once you reconnect to your Wi-Fi network, the download will continue.

    You should be able to see the duplicate subscription in your account dashboard, where we sign on to the Skype website to manage payment methods and so on.  There, you can cancel the duplicate subscription and then request a refund by contacting Skype Customer Service. 
    Please do not be discouraged if you can not reach Skype Customer Service on yoru first attempt.  Skype is aware of continuing website problems.  If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented.  Temporarily enabling scripts and pop-up windows may help get you through more quickly.
    Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.
    Last and not least, when you reach the last step of the process, remember to click on the "Start Chat" link when you are provided the choice of visiting the Community or starting an instant message chat with a customer service agent.
