Can I capture the video from the TV card or video capture card to publish

Can I capture the video from the TV card or video capture card to publish?
I tried to use the USB camera, it's OK. But, will the TV card or video capture card also work?

Hi,
iChat will set up a Video chat window that takes in to account your Processor speed and Internet Speed and to some extent the Buddy's speed.
This then denotes the pixel content of each frame.
OS X 10.6.x tells me this is iChat 5 which in turn mean you have  at least an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.
This should be capable of 30 frames a sec at  about 640 X 480 pixels  (Check the Connection Doctor (Video Menu) and the Statistics tab during a Chat).
iChat 5 cannot do HD  (Max of 4:3 ratio at the above figures)
After that it depends how you are recording the chat.
Quicktime X would do it.
iChat will do it itself (if the Buddy agrees)

  • Can you capture video from the internet, using premiere pro cc?

trying to capture video from the internet, using premiere pro cc, is that possible?
also - it keeps saying "video capture offline" - any solutions for that?

I am going to go out on a limb and say that while it may be against the YouTube terms of service to download or scrape a video off of their service, there are times that I really don't care since it is for my personal use. Providing myself or my wife with entertainment that she can watch or listen to on her smartphone while on an airplane, or in a car traveling down the road, just doesn't bother my moral compass. Doesn't make it twitch in the least.
Perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps I shouldn't do it. Tough. I do, and will continue to do so until the Google police come knocking on my door.
This is pretty much the same argument that they tried to kill the VCR with. The simple act of time shifting was something that was considered wrong, and illegal, until people came to their senses.
As for the editing capability, you might be surprised at the ways it is possible to download video that works just fine for what I use it for. Premiere Pro has no problems allowing me to edit out the parts I don't like, or just aren't funny, and the quality really doesn't suffer much at all.
Now, with the exception of something I did for my two year old Great Niece, I have never used any video that I have downloaded for anything except a tutorial, or in her case, a Sesame Street song I used when I shot video of me reading her the Sesame Street book that I purchased.
Would it be wrong to post downloaded video, intact or edited, for public consumption? Sure it would. No question about it.
But please do not assume that everyone downloading video from the Internet is doing so for nefarious purposes, and I promise not to assume everyone is a perfect angel and is following all the rules.

  • Selecting microphone when capturing video from the webcam

    Using Final Cut Pro X
I want to capture video from my webcam into Final Cut.  I have a USB microphone (Yeti) with which I want to record the audio.  I cannot find an option to select my input source for audio when capturing this footage.  Final Cut seems to default to my microphone on my webcam, which causes echoing and noise. I can select the USB mic when doing a voiceover, but when I capture video I cannot find an option to select my input.  I've made my USB mic my default device in Sys Prefs, but that doesn't work.  Any other ideas?
    Options
    1.  Figure out how to change the default input for webcam capture in Final Cut
    OR
    2.  Use another program.  I've also tried to do the same in both QuickTime and iMovie, and they both capture audio only from the webcam as well.
Everything I've found online talks about voiceover.  I don't want that.  I want to capture video with it.
    Suggestions are appreciated.  Thank you.

Thanks.  Don't know why I didn't see it.  That arrow is pretty small.
I do still have an issue that I cannot figure out.  I'm using the same mic for webcam recording (now in QT thanks to Luis) and in Final Cut for voiceovers.  Though I'm still on the same Mic the sound is not the same.  It's close, but the sound on the voiceover sounds cleaner and clearer.  I'm sitting in the same spot speaking the same way, but the sound quality difference is noticable.  Not sure why.
It seems that the difference is in how each software deals with it.
It may be that QT is sampling audio differently from FCP X somehow, or using a different audio codec or whatever.
Just guessing, I really have no concrete knowledge.
Oh, wait: there are a few things that I can notice, after trying a small example: the QT audio is AAC at 44.1 KHz,
the FCP X is AIFF at 48KHz. Compression and sample rate are different.

  • How can I display & split the audio & video from the same digitized clip?

I digitized a scene into iMovie that I edited on a professional system which I don't have access to anymore. The whole scene is 1 clip. Now I see a few tweaks that I want to make, so I was hoping to do them in iMovie.
I want to "pull up" the audio in one section - meaning I want to take cut about 20 frames of audio from the end of a shot, and then move all the other audio up to fill the hole. To compensate for the missing 20 frames, I'll cut video off the head of the next shot. Some call this prelapping. Some call it an L-cut. Some call it asymmetrical trimming. Either way, I can't figure out how to do it in iMovie.
My clip appears in the timeline as one track - a single track that contains the video and 2 audio tracks. How can I display the audio that's tied to the video on its own track? Then I think I could split audio & video wherever I wanted and trim things up - but I can't figure out how to do it.
Am I asking too much of this software?
BTW, I never see the option to "Split audio clip at playhead". I'm not displaying clip volume or waveforms. Choosing to display waveforms doesn't show me anything. Maybe iMovie thinks I'd only want to see waveforms of audio that isn't tied to my video-and-audio clips?
Thanks in advance for any help...

    Jordon,
"Am I asking too much of this software?"
    No, you're not.
You first want to select your clip(s) and choose Advanced>Extract Audio.
This will copy the audio from the video clip and place it on one of the two separate audio tracks while lowering the audio level to zero in the original video track.
You can now edit and move the audio independently of the video.
With the audio clip selected, you'll find you now have access to Edit>Split Selected Audio Clip at Playhead.

We are evaluating the use of iPod touch devices to record best practice videos on our manufacturing floor and to post to an internal Moodle web site. How can you upload a video from the iPod touch to a site other than YouTube? The Moodle upload interface is expecting a file selection dialog box like windows or OSX. I do not want to have to go through an intermediary step of messing with a pc.
    Thanks!

It should be around 7 and a half gigs. In iTunes, across the bottom there should be a bar that show how much storage is being used and by what. (music, movies, apps, etc.) To make music take up less room, you can check the box to make it convert the music to 128kbps AAC. This lowers the quality, but with most earbuds and speakers, you can't even tell the difference.
The iPod touch has parental controls built in. You'll find them in Settings. I think they only work for enabling/disabling Safari, Mail, YouTube, and App Store. Here's an app that does more: http://www.mobicip.com/online_safety/ipod_touch

    Computer specs:
OS, CPU, RAM, GPU, vRAM ... and also disc layout & connections can be useful (as in, "2 internal hard-drives and an external on Thunderbolt connection for exports")
    Program specs:
Specific build of Premier Pro from the bottom of the "About" splash screen off the "Help" menu is best.
Footage file type: MXF, AVCHD, MOV, m2s, what?
Even the camera it was shot on can be of interest at times.
And did you use media browser to import, then project panel to drag & drop?

how can I download a video from the net? is there is any special download softwear than realplayer?

There are a variety of file formats for storing and sending video. You will probably want to install VLC, which handles most open formats. RealPlayer is used on their proprietary format.

  • I can't play certain videos from the internet on my macbook

I can't play certain videos from the internet on my macbook.
When using Sarfari or Google Chome, I am unable to play some videos on the internet. News clips, posted videos on blogs, and tv episodes from their own network websites. Youtube videos are fine. I doesn't make sense.
I tried downloading an update for quicktime, but the computer claims that quicktime is up to date. Yet, the videos and tv episodes don't play.
I have checked for the most recent software updates, and everything is up to date. Nothing is wrong with the hardware either.
Any suggestions would be awesome! Thank you!

In addition to Flash, you might need some other plugins.  Microsoft videos are mostly in Silverlight, and you'll want Flip4Mac to play WMVs.  Perian contains codecs for pretty much every video online.

  • HT4437 Can I play a video from the remote app onto apple tv whilst simultaneously stra, ing music to other speakers via express?

Can I play a video from the remote app onto apple tv whilst simultaneously stra, ing music to other speakers via express?

Thank you for that, I wanted to make sure I was trying to replicate the same thing as you. Just tried it now, works fine for me.
Of note though, this will take a relatively well performing network to achieve this, I have such a network, if your network is not as good as it might be, you might encounter problems.
For the avoidance of doubt, I used the remote app on my phone to get my iTunes library on my computer to stream music to 3 of my Apple TVs, I then used the remote app to control another Apple TV and get it to stream a music video from my computer to it. Of interest I managed to do this while my wife was using yet another Apple TV (not with the remote app) to watch something else from iTunes on my computer.

  • In imovie how do I seperate all my videos from the photos from iphoto? I have thousands of photos so finding the odd video here or there is like finding a needle in a haystack! Is there a way I can simply import the videos rather than all the photos

Imovies - how do I seperate the videos from the photos. My library has bundled them all together from iphoto

One way I was able to do this, was to make a Smart Album in iPhoto, with the rule of showing just the movie files.  This will work, once you know what format the movie files are in.
In iPhoto, select one of your movies, and right click it.  Look for the option: "Reveal in Finder" or "Show in Finder" (this depends on the version of iPhoto).
Once you see the file, look for the three letters AFTER the period.  Like this:
    .mov (QuickTime movie)
    .avi  (Uncompressed Windows Video)
    .mpg (MPEG video)
Back in iPhoto, when you make your Smart Album, set it up like this:
Once you have it set like this, press RETURN (or click "Ok").
What you'll see is all the videos that have that file extension (.mov, .avi, .mpg, etc.) listed.  Now the nice thing is this:  Every new movie you add to iPhoto will automatically get listed here, regardless of where in iPhoto they live!
    Integration with iMovie:
By making this album in iPhoto, when you get to iMovie, you'll be able to see the movies when you select your Videos Smart Album.
I hope this helps you out.  They have iPhoto and iMovie workshops at Apple Stores that cover this too.  They're free, and you can learn a lot.
    Sincerely,
    Brian K. James

  • Can you move a video taken on the iPad from the camera roll to 'Videos' without syncing through iPhoto?

Pretty simple question that I can not figure out the answer to. Can you move a video taken on the iPad from the camera roll to 'videos' on the go?

I can do it on my iPhone and, according to the iPad manual (p. 58), you can do it on an iPad.
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • I can't watch videos from the net...

i can't open videos from the internet, specifically those from yahoo sports and other sites. sometimes they just will not load, and sometimes i click to open it, and a new folder shows up on my desktop but if i try to open it it says that it cannot be opened because i don't have the right application to do so.

Sounds like you're trying to view RealPlayer files. Since this program isn't preinstalled on Macs, you have to download it from this site. It also gives you instructions on how to install it.
