Can I cc all messages to another e-mail?

I am fairly new to Apple OS, so apologies if this is a daft question ....
I have set up a MacMini for my kids to use with parental controls. They each have their own e-mail address and user profile on the mac. I now want to bcc every outgoing mail (that my kids send) from that mac to my personal e-mail address ... is this possible?
I found there is an option to cc or bcc "myself", but that would just send a copy back to the kids
Another option is to limit them to only being able to send mail to 'approved' recipients, but their friends change addresses so often that that will become an admin nightmare.
Alternatively, if I could prevent them from deleting sent mail, I could occasionally trawl through the sent items folder if I thought there was a problem.
Does anyone have a possible solution for me?
Thanks,
Dale

there have been threads in the past that asked how to request read receipts in Mail. This web article tells how to do that. You have to get into the Terminal to do it. Following the directions given in that article, you could modify those steps very easily in order to add a BCC header line (BCC: [email protected]) to be written default to every email they send. The example given in that article on how to include read receipts just by chance includes a BCC header. You'd want to "BCC" not "CC" else their recipients would see that you were being CC'ed on the mail.
Unfortunately, a rule in mail prefs wouldn't do it as rules are only applied to newly arriving mail in the inbox. If you could keep 'em out of rules, you could make one to have all incoming forwarded to you, too, I suppose.

  • How can I redirect all messages to 2 another mail servers?

    Hi all
    ./imsimta version
    Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7.3-11.01 64bit (built Sep 1 2009)
    libimta.so 7.3-11.01 64bit (built 19:54:45, Sep 1 2009)
    I wanted to redirect all messages(in and out) to another mail server, I configured as follows,
    - imta.cnf
    ! tcp_local
    tcp_local smtp mx single_sys ....... sourcefilter file:///backother.filter
    ! tcp_intranet
    tcp_intranet smtp mx single_sys ....... sourcefilter file:///backother.filter
    - backother.filter
    require ["fileinto"];
    if address :all :matches ["From"]["*"]{
    redirect "[email protected]";
    keep;
    stop;
    One e-mail account receives all messgaes and those messages will be kept in sender's or receiver's mail storage.
    I want , however, redirect all messages 2 or 3 mail servers.
    I tried several things to do this include edit backother.filter(this is written in Sieve ), but I failed.
    Is there any way to redirect messages to another mail servers?
    Any way would be good , using sieve script, make antoher channel or channel keyword

    capture "[email protected]";
    I tested it but the capture's behavior was very weird, subject had changed to something like,'deliverd status notice', sender had changed to postmaster and additional notice messgae inserted into mail body.The default sieve capture action encapsulates the email to keep a copy of both the envelope information and the original message. MS7u3 also supports the Exchange journal encapsulation format through the addition of the ":journal" parameter.
    I edited 'capture' like this..
    capture :message "[email protected]";
    The ":message" flag removes the encapsulation -- therefore you will have no idea of who the original sender/recipients were as the envelope information has been discarded.
    It worked fine. It was same as the result of 'redirect'.
    but the following line, sent10 messages to each recipients.(receive_01,receive_02)
    capture :message "[email protected],[email protected]";
    maybe there was some 'loop' actions happened.The email produced by the capture sieve action is being "captured" which is resulting in a loop. You can stop this by adding an envelope test e.g.
    require ["envelope"];
    if not envelope :is ["to"] ["[email protected]","[email protected]"]
            capture :message "[email protected]";
            capture :message "[email protected]";
    }Regards,

  • How can I find all messages like this?

    What criteria can I use in a smart mailbox to find all messages like this?
    The message from Robert Nicholson <[email protected]> concerning “Hi Testing” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.
    I have a lot of these because I use IMAP for my mail but there's no point in keeping these messages as they were deleted from the server a long time ago.

    Robert,
    I am not sure what a Smart Mailbox would have to offer with respect to this?
    However, the problem is likely not that the message has been deleted from the server, but that Mail 2.0 has problems with some IMAP servers at displaying some messages.
    I am hopeful, but cannot assure anyone, that a fix is being worked on for this, and perhaps will be available sometime in the future.
    If you were to access with a different version of Mail, such as 1.3.11, or another mail client, you might access these messages. Therefore, I would not be quick to try and eliminate them.

  • How can I download all messages in my inbox to a CD?

    I want to download my entire inbox to a CD. There are >600 messages, so I cannot do them one at a time. Is there a bulk way to do it?

    This depends rather on what format you want to use to store the messages.
    The safest route IMHO is to use the Thunderbird native .eml file format, which as far as possible stores your messages verbatim, including attachments. The downside is that you need an email client, such as Thunderbird, so be able to see the .eml files. Whilst eml is supposedly an industry standard, MS's email clients don't handle it well, so your store would not be useful to a huge proportion of the world's computer users.
    Other options are to export your messages to plain text (which loses all the graphical content) or HTML format (which isn't always entirely accurate), or just to copy the mail store files, which are a variant of a standard known as mbox files.
    The other consideration is your reason for placing messages on the CD. Is it to be able to refer to them, whiilst perhaps releasing space on your HDD, or is it a back-up against hardware failure? Each of these has an influence of the choice of methodology. Alternatively, if you want to move these messages to another computer, copying the whole profile might be a productive route.
    [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb Thunderbird profile article]
    For most of these export options, I'd be looking at the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ ImportExportTools] add-on, which if you choose plain text or HTML, can also build index files which you can view in a browser. Recent versions also allow attachments to be preserved.
    http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/3_How_to_install_Add-ons_in_Thunderbird.html
    Beware! A Thunderbird profile can often be several gigabytes in size, and won't necessarily fit on a standard data DVD.

  • Can't see 'All Messages' in inbox

    Hi everyone,
    Something really annoying has happened since i updated to ios7. I can no longer see all the messages from my 6 accounts merged into into one mailbox. Instead, I have to go to each different inbox to see the messages, whereas before there was an option to see 'all messages' or 'all mailboxes.
    Highly appreciate any help.
    Thanks

    Hi millz90,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
    The functionality of viewing All Inboxes has not changed from iOS 6 to iOS 7.
    Take a look at the screenshot from the iOS 7 User guide below.
    In this example, the user is looking at an inbox from one specific email account.
    Notice the blue Mailboxes link in the top left corner of the screen.
    When you tap on Mailboxes on your device, the new screen should have the title Mailboxes at the top and All Inboxes should be the first item on the list.
    If you scroll down to the bottom of the screen, you will see your Accounts listed, and you can choose to open a specific email account to look at its Inbox or Sent mailbox.

Also, when it comes to protocols, what are my choices ?In other words you want to spam people without their consent with messages they're not interested in.
    The very reason what you want to do isn't possible is because of the abuse.
    What do you think would happen if someone anywhere in the world could just launch a program that sends a "message" to all computers on the internet (which is what would be possible with your idea) and cause all those computers to lock up until the message has been read and actively dismissed by the unlucky recipient?
    Now imagine a million spammers, virus authors, and other lowlifes all doing that at the same time thousands of times a day.
    Now imagine yourself to be one of them (you are by association already) and someone with a little bit of a short temper who's in posession of a knife and the knowledge of how to make a noose to put around your neck finding out where you live.

  • Mail can't Select All messages in this Conversation

    For years I have used Cmd-Shift-K in Mail to select all messages in the same conversation. This particularly useful, for example, when reading replies to posts in Apple discussions. When I select a message, all the messages with the same topic appear in light blue and Cmd-Shift-K (or View->Select->All Messages in this Conversation) allowed me to select them all.
    Since upgrading to Yosemite, the visual cues on the messages are still there (I have the box to "Highlight messages with color when not grouped") but the command to select them is greyed out, and Cmd-Shift-K just beeps in error.
    Are other people seeing this?

    Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Can not open all .pdf files in Yahoo Mail.

    Three computers using Windows XP and Internet Explorer can open all .pdf files in Yahoo
    Mail. The fourth and newest Computer with XP Pro, Internet Explorer, and the latest Adobe
    Reader can only open some, but not all, .pdf files in Yahoo Mail. Nothing happens when
    the window is clicked to open file. How can this be fixed?

    Adobe Reader isn't my favorite, but neither are smug and uninformed assertions about Preview. There are PDFs that render only squares and marks under Preview (http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/24209/this-pdf-displays-with-question-m arks-instead-of-letters), which is a common problem in MS Windows Office generated PDFs, so you may actually need Adobe Reader for Mac.
    If you need to use Adobe Reader (as I do), then it may depend on the filesystem type where you save your PDF.  For example, our Macs are network homed.  Saving to desktop produced the error reported above no matter whether I used Safari:Save As, or the PDF save icon.
    However, when I saved to a local drive (such as /tmp), then it worked.  I don't know why file system makes a difference, unless Adobe is doing something with extended attributes that doesn't get written correctly to some filesystems.
    Hope this helps.

  • Not all messages are delivered to Mail

    It's so frustrating! My web-based version of my POP account receives messages that Mail doesn't. It has nothing to do with junk filters or rules; the mail just never arrives. There's no particular domain after the '@' that doesn't arrive, although I first noticed it when someone with a gmail account tried to email me. Furthermore, I sent an email with my own gmail account to my pop account in question and it never arrived in Mail! Is something corrupted in my Mail app?
    I'd really appreciate your feedback on this.
    adrian

    Try the following.
    Quit Mail first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded.
    Delete the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded file and empty the Trash.
    Launch Mail and if successful, any previously downloaded messages that remain on the server will be downloaded again in addition to all messages available not yet downloaded by Mail.
    If not successful and although I haven't experienced the same, it has been reported by others here that certain spam messages or legit messages than contain unusual formatted HTML sometimes "clog" the receipt of all messages available at the incoming mail server. Look for and delete all spam messages that are available at the incoming mail server for the account via webmail access.

  • Not all messages downloading to Apple mail

    I've been having a problem the past couple of days with not all messages downloading to Mail.  No rhyme or reason to it and it's just a few, but its a scary situation.  I use yahoo and have it on my iphone as well which receives them fine.  Any ideas as to why this might be?

    Morning shawna s,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    In some cases, you might need to rebuild a mailbox to update the list of messages if messages appear to be missing.
    For more information on this, take a look at this article:

  • How can I remove all messages, save to a DVD, and access them easily later?

    I recently dropped my .Mac account in order to use Gmail full time. I would like to be able to take those mac.com messages off of my computer--preferably saving them to a DVD--so that when I activate my Gmail account in Mail, they would be totally separate. I am also trying to save hard drive space.
    I've looked around about this, and even downloaded some Applescripts for Archiving mail, but those seem to continually make Mail crash (I have 3 years worth of email saved in Mail.app--about 3,000 emails). I have read enough about Backup to know that it saves things in strange/proprietary ways.
    Is the best plan simply to copy that ~/Library/Mail folder, straight up to a DVD, and then clear it off of my Mac? How do I do that without making Mail.app unstable? And will it be difficult to then read them from the DVD later if I need messages?

    ... and import its contents back into Mail whenever you wish ...
    You can also open individual .emlx message files within the copied mailboxes to read them, without first importing them back into Mail. However, by itself this isn't very practical because the files have names like "12345.emlx" that offer no clue about their content, so finding the message of interest among 3000 of them is a challenge.
    You might think that Spotlight would help with this, but in its normal state it excludes .emlx files from searches, so you can't simply do a Finder search on subject, content, etc. There are ways around this but none are simple:
    1. Use a Spotlight "raw query" search to find the messages. This avoids the exclusion of .emlx files that is tacked onto all normal Spotlight queries but requires knowledge of the syntax of raw queries. (To get an idea of how that looks, & to see the exclusions, you can do a "Get Info" on a Smart Folder. The raw query string is listed after the "Query:" entry in the General section.)
    2. Replace the ".emlx" extension with ".txt" or similar in the copied messages. (This could be done with an AppleScript using Finder.) Spotlight will then include the files in searches. In this case, opening the message file by default will be with TextEdit or similar, so you won't have access to "Reply" or similar features of Mail, but you will see the entire message, including the preference-like xml info about it that follows the message body in the raw .emlx file. As long as you don't alter the content, you can reimport the message into Mail by changing the extension back to ".emlx."
    3. Mimic what the Mail archive utilities do & construct a database that either relates the numbered .emlx files to their content or import entire files into database records & use its search features to find the messages of interest. This is appealing if you have a powerful database app like Filemaker & skills at database construction because you can construct any view of the info you want & organize it however you like. Obviously, if you don't, it would be simpler to buy a utility, which may offer other features that you might find useful.
    These alternatives would be most useful if you need to avoid reimporting large mailboxes back into Mail because of disk space concerns. They also avoid the perhaps considerable time it would take to reimport thousands of messages just to find one or two of interest. The second & third ones are somewhat self-contained & independent of Mail itself, which is both a strength & a weakness, depending on your needs.

  • Can't retrieve sent messages from my Desktop Mail application

    Hi,
    Whenever I use a computer away from home to send email, I always click the option to save the sent message in the sent folder. Then, when I get home, I used to retreive those messages from the iDisk icon on my Mail, and then move that message to my sent folder on my Mail, in my desktop at home.
    But now, I don't know why, when I drag them to the sent folder in my desktop, these messages just disappear. There is NO way I can move them to my sent folder on my desktop. I tried several things, but I admit I am not good at all with computers, so here I am ... It's funny because I tried to drag those sent messages to my Inbox folder and it worked, but I want to move them to my sent folder, as I used to do.
    Thanks for your help!

    ok lets see if my solution fits my undertsanding of your problem.
    A .Mac account is essentially an IMAP account. This means that Mailboxes and the Mail in them is replicated identically on the Server every time you synchronize (either manually or in Preferences). Mail is deleted when you do it manually, or automatically - again as part of Preferences. Mail you send through the browser should be replicated on your desktop Mail.app next time you synchronize.
    If you create a Mailbox under your user account, this Mailbox is replicated on the server. If however you create an Mailbox that is "On my Mac", and move mail to it, you are effectively moving it off the server and onto your desktop, which may explain why it is disappearing.
    Realistically with a .Mac account you should not have to drag Sent Items anywhere.
    Because it is a .Mac account, check these things.
    In Mail.app on your desktop:
    1) Preferences/Accounts/.Mac Account/Mailbox Behaviors. Check "Store Sent Messages on the Server and then an option for deleting them. This will ensure Sent Messages remain on the server.
    2) Preferences/Accounts/.Mac Account/Advanced. Check Automatically Synchronize Changed Mailboxes if you want the Server to be updated immediately. Leave it blank and mail will be updated when you log on and off and if you Synchronize manually.
    Through .Mac
    1) Log onto .Mac through the browser - to Mail. Go to Preferences/Composing and ensure that "Save sent messages to" - (Sent Messages) is checked. Save your settings.
    Send one test mail using Mail.app and then one through the browser. Your sent mail should appear in the Sent Mail folders on both Mail.app and the server, and you should not have to drag sent mail from or to anywhere.
