Can I change a hard cover book to soft cover?

I've spent hours creating a photobook on iphoto and now that I'm ready to buy, I wish it were soft cover.  Can I change it at the last minute?  I can't figure out how to.

Yes, it's relatively easy to do. First click on the book and type Command+D to duplicate the book. then open the copy and click on the Theme button. In the theme menu you can switch to a soft cover version. You'll get a warning that you could lose some text. That's why it's wise to make a duplicate so you can go back to the original version to cut and past the text if needed. I've been able to switch covers and not lose any text but I just use the default fonts that the theme provides.
I Hope I Was Able To Help You Or Solve Your Question.

Can I change from hard cover to soft cover after the iphoto book is desgned?

Yes,  Just go to the View all pages window and click on the Change Theme button.  There you will be able to switch size and type of cover.  HOWEVER, just to be on the safe side make a copy of the book beforehand by clicking on it and typing Command+D (duplicate).  Sometimes some of the text might be lost.  It's a possiblity but I've never had it happen.

  • HT5313 How can i change my hard disk up to 250 GB or 500 GB ?

Can i change my hard disk up to 200 GB or 500 GB ? if i can,how should i do ?

Clone backup current drive to an external disk (SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner). The external disk should be a FireWire drive so you can boot it (I believe the White MacBooks only booted external FireWire drives). You should test booting the cloned external before continuing.  Or you could clone the current MacBook drive to the new replacement drive, which could be done via USB or FireWire.
If I recall correctly, remove the battery, remove a metal shield, pull out the current drive, remove the bracket, attach bracket to new drive, slide new drive back in, put metal shield back on, put battery back in.
If you cloned directly to new replacement drive, boot up your MacBook and enjoy.
If you cloned to an external FireWire, boot the external cloned FireWire drive,  and clone it back to the new replacement drive.
If you consider your data valuable, have yet another backup to a different drive before starting just to be safe.
There should be YouTube videos that will show you how to do this, or search MacSales.com for how to videos.

  • How can I change the default cover image in iTunes?

    Good evening everyone!
I've scoured the web for this info but can't seem to find it. Is there a way to change the default cover image in iTunes to one of my choosing? You know the one I'm talking about right? The transparent CD cover with the musical note in the middle of it... the one that shows up when iTunes can' find appropriate cover art for your music. I have another image I'd like to use instead, as I've never liked the default image at all. The one I have to replace it is an image of a blank CD case. Kinda cool and would look infinitely better than the default in my opinion.
Has anyone done this before? If so, can you describe to me how it's done, or point me to somewhere on the web that describes how? Many, many thanks in advance Have a great weekend!!!

I understand what you mean - I too, would like to see some variability in the 'default'. Besides having a single default, I would step that up to a default that changes with genre and media: ie. I could see using a sax for Jazz; a microphone for a Podcast, etc.
I don't have the answer to your question yet, but I think I'm going to crack open the iTunes package to see what default images there are embedded in there.

  • How in the HECK can I change my Hard Drive icon??!??!!

I've tried searching these discussion forums for how to do this, but the question has always remained unanswered! Does ANYbody know how to use this? I'd buy applecare but I'm a student and can't afford it. Would somebody please figure out how to make it so that you can paste a new icon on top of the standard icon for 10.3.9? It's driving me crazy that after I copy the icon I want to use for my hard drive that I can't paste it on top.
And I've tried doing a permissions repair in Disk Utility.
    400 MHz PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

That's how other people do it, HVlaar; it's the standard procedure. Works fine for me. Are you logged into an admin account? Have you considered that changing your hard drive icon probably isn't an important thing to do anyway?

  • CAN I CHANGE THE BACK COVER OF IPHONE 5

I have a small scratch(hollow) near the on/off button of my black iphone 5. Can I change /buy a new back cover from Apple ?

It is possible to change the casing of the phone.  However, it is not available for purchase.  I would recommend buying a light case to cover and protect the back of your phone.

Here is a link to directions at ifixit (linked to from this narrative that has some good pointers about getting your data moved over). Not for the average Joe! (but maybe the average Vern, not sure). I have NOT tried doing this myself but will probably, soon.
Be sure to read and print the directions before you go to town, lock the room so kids and pets don't disturb you equipment, keep a journal, number the parts, etc. I swapped drives in my old Titanium at least a dozen times with no problems, but the Aluminum is a different beast.
Or you could take it down to an Authorized Apple technician and pay them to do the swap.

  • Can not change country to deliver book to.

    Hello,
How do i change the shipping address from Canada to France for a book in Iphoto 11.
    T

In iPhoto 11 you can set the country to order and deliver to in its preference pane.
However, I believe the credit card used must have a billing address in the same country as the address you want to ship to. I may be wrong here but you can try it and see if the order and shippment goes thru. Post back and let us know how it went.

  • Can I change fonts in the book editor?

I would like to know if I can change the fonts (and the type sizes) in the book editor/

    You can.
Select a page in your book, and "Edit Layout", then select some text on the page.
Use "Edit > Show Fonts" from the main menu bar.
select a font and a text size from the "Fonts" panel.

  • How can I change dimensions of a book with numerous chapters?

I need to change the dimensions of a book (and all 12 chapters) in IDCS4 from 8.5 x 11 to 8.125 x 10.875. Is there a way to do this globally for the entire book content? If so, is there a way to control which margin(s) the difference comes off of? I don't want anything to happen to the actual content of the pages, just the page size.
I saw similar questions, but none answered this exactly.
    Thanks,
    Ilene

A lot will depend on whether you used master frames, but you can try this on a copy.  First, go to Layout > Layout Adjstment and make sure it OFF so that frames don't change size or position when you change the document setup. If you used Master frames, they're going to want to change size anyway with a change in margin positions, so this can get complex.
Change the document size using File > Document Setup.... It should shrink toward the the center of the spine for facing pages, I think. Now select each master page spread and then go to Layout > Margins and Columns and shrink the top and bottom margins by .0625" each, and the outside margin by .375" ( based on going from 8.5 x 11 to 8.125 x 10.875). Thes margins will now correspond to where the old margins would have been had you been able to make the pages smaller without adjusting the margins.
Go back to layout adjustment and turn it on. Still on the master spreads go back to Margins and Columns and  reset your margins tbe whatever you want. Text frames touching the margin guides should resize. You may have to reposition other stuff.
    Good Luck.

  • Can I change my hard drive but save all the programs without having to reinstall them?

I'm considering upgrading my MacBook Pro 13 Inch (2010) hard drive from the stock 250GB to a 500GB (not set on this size yet.)
I know that upgrading would, obviously require me to take out the old hard drive and install the new one. Will I have to reinstall all the old programs (i.e. Photoshop, Microsoft Office, etc.) or is there a way to back them up and not have to buy them again to install them on the new hard drive?
Or should I just upgrade the RAM?
Or buy an external hard drive (like the Time Capsule)
    Thank you for your time.

Yes, you have to reinstall everything on the new drive unless you first clone your old drive to the new one. But you don't have to buy them again. I assume you keep backups or the original install media.
I'm afraid I don't understand the points of the additional questions because they are unrelated to your original question.
How to replace or upgrade a drive in a laptop
Step One: Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Step Two: Remove the old drive and install the new drive.  Place the old drive in an external USB enclosure.  You can buy one at OWC who is also a good vendor for drives.
Step Three: Boot from the external drive.  Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager appears.  Select the icon for the external drive then click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Step Four: New Hard Drive Preparation
      1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
      2. After DU loads select your new hard drive (this is the entry with the
mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of
the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive
is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  Otherwise, click on the
Partition tab in the DU main window.
      3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from
the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended
(Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to
GUID  then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and
wait until the process has completed.
      4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the
drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main
          window.
      5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the
Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to
          return to the Erase window.
      6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several
hours depending upon the drive size.
Step Five: Clone the old drive to the new drive
      1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Check the box labeled Erase destination.
      5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the
          Destination entry field.
      6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the
          Source entry field.
      7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the new internal drive. Source means the old external drive.
Step Six: Open the Startup Disk preferences and select the new internal volume.  Click on the Restart button.  You should boot from the new drive.  Eject the external drive and disconnect it from the computer.

  • How can i change my hard drive from time machine to a normal harddrive

Hi guys I wrongly set my flash drive to my time machine drive but now i can not turn it back as the same it was at first . the main problem is PC are not able to identify my flash drive?

First transfer any important information on the flash drive to your internal hard drive. Then open Disk Utility. You should see your flash drive in the list on the left, select it and then select the erase tab to the right. Name your flash drive and set format to MS-DOS (FAT). Hit the erase button and it will be ready for pc and mac.

  • How can I change the hard drive location of the iCloud Drive?

I am using a SSD for my boot drive, but it's space is limited.
So I would like to relocate the iCloud Drive to one of my internal HDs, but I see no option to do this.
Let's hope Apple would make such an obvious option available.
I don't want to change the location of my entire Home directory, as that would slow down my access to cache files, etc...
I had one suggestion of using the terminal with an "ln -s" command to create a soft link.  However, it appears the iCloud Drive is store in ~/Library/Mobile Documents.  If I remove this directory or any subdirectory, they are automatically recreated, I assume by some sort of background process.
Does anybody know if this is possible, and how to accomplish it?
    Thanks.

How to use an SSD with your HDD
If you are going to use an SSD as a boot drive together with your existing HDD as the "data" drive, here's what you can do.
After installing the SSD you will need to partition and format the SSD using Disk Utility. Then, install OS X on the SSD. After OS X has been installed boot from the SSD. Use Startup Disk preferences to set the SSD as the startup volume.
Open Users & Groups preferences. Click on the lock icon and authenticate. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on your user account listing in the sidebar and select Advanced Options from the context menu. You will see a field labeled "Home dir:" At the right end you will see a Change button. Click on it. In the file dialog locate the Home folder now located on the HDD (HDD/Users/account_name/.) Select the folder, click on Open button. Restart the computer as directed. When the computer boots up it will now be using the Home folder located on the HDD.
Another more technical method involving the Terminal and aliases is discussed in depth here: Using OS X with an SSD plus HDD setup - Matt Gemmell. This is my preferred approach because I can select which of the Home's folders I want on the HDD and which I don't want. For example, I like to keep the Documents and Library folders on the SSD because I access their content frequently.
Be sure you retain the fully bootable system on your HDD in case you ever need it.

  • Can I change ipod nano 5th cover ??

Hello I'm a new user of ipod nano 5th and this is my first ipod I was wondering if I could change the original cover ?? I have a green one but I wanted to have a red one but unfourtiontly there was only green & orange , so now I saw a scratch on the back I don't know HOW .... Can I change the green cover and replace it with  original red one ?? if it possible where can I do it ?? right now I'm in egypt Cairo

    Hello einstein-1,
Yes you could do it, but it would require you to completely disassemble and reassemble the iPod.  You can find numerous sites/businesses online who sell replacement parts such as different colored casing for your iPod.
Apple will not do it for you, but a third party company might be willing to do the job for you.
