Can I change Folder or path for Creative Cloud Files?

Hi @amia,
Yes, you can change the location of the "Creative Cloud Files" folder on your desktop computer.  In the CC desktop app, select the Settings icon (gear icon in upper right), then the "Preferences..." menu option.  Click the Files tab and you'll see the "Folder Location" option.

    Yes you can solve this issue by placing the applications on a other drive by selecting a custom installation location.
    Click at the right top in the Adobe Application Manager after your user name, and select preferences
    Select a alternate installation location.
    Better: make some space on your SSD, performance of the application / loading time is increased when placing on a SSD.
    Data storage / scratchdisks can be configured on the 2TD data drive.

  • You cannot change your default location of "Creative Cloud Files" for sync from desktop

    So, I'm finding that I am restricted from moving the "Creative Cloud Files" container (for syncing to the cloud from my desktop). It is bound to C:Users/Name and will not move.
    This is very saddening and seems like an elementary function that should be included.
    I do not want to store things on my small SSD C: drive -- thanks.
    Am I missing something here?

    "Your files remain on your local hard drive. You can also choose to take advantage of the ability to synchronize your local files with your Creative Cloud storage. Even if you choose to sync your files to Creative Cloud, you will always have a local copy of your files."
    There are some workarounds, it might work out, you can try it : It is for windows
    First, stop the sync and exit the app ( right-click on the Connection icon and click Turn Sync Off, right-click again and choose Exit )
    Go to “C:\Users\your user name” folder and locate Creative Cloud Files folder
    Move the folder to a different location ( e.g. “D:\Data\Creative Files” ) and make sure that you move complete Creative Cloud Files folder
    Run cmd.exe in admin privileges ( type cmd in Start menu, right click on cmd and select Run as administrator )
    Type following:
    mklink /J “C:\Users\your_user_name\Creative Cloud Folder” “D:\Data\Creative Files”
    You should receive message that the junction is created ( refer to this guide if you need more help:Complete Guide to Symbolic Links (symlinks) on Windows or Linux )
    Now to test it BEFORE you turn on the Connection app simply copy something to “D:\Data\Creative Files” folder, than go to Creative Cloud Files folder in your users folder and you should see the file you copied
    If you are able to see the file, all you have to do is to start the Connection app! Hooray!
    This guide should work for Windows 7 and Windows 8.

    How do I change the primary administrator for Creative Cloud for teams?  The previous admin has taken another position and is no longer responsible for managing the CC Team.

    Currently you cannot change the primary admin on a CCT membership. As a workaround, follow these steps:
    Cancel the existing team membership: You can cancel the membership without any penalty. The accounts for team members change to trial mode. Members can still access their saved data in the cloud storage. To cancel the membership, click theChat Now button at the bottom of this page to initiate chat with a live agent.
    Buy a new team membership; use the Adobe ID for the new primary admin.
    Reinvite team members using the new primary admin account.
    The team members have to accept the invitation and log in to the Creative Cloud Desktop app again. Their apps are activated under the new team account.

Would creating a symbolic link to the contents of 'My Documents' in 'Creative Cloud Files' directory work to enable the contents of 'My Documents' to sync with the cloud?     Yes, I understand this. Perhaps a suggestion then to offer this as a feature in a future update. It would be useful to be able to specify an existing documents directory. For example, I have a couple of years worth of client work (psd, html, tpl files mainly) that would be useful to be able to have synched to the cloud without having to relocate them. I have sites configured in Dreamweaver that if I moved those files to the Creative Cloud folder, I would have to reconfigure all those sites. It would just make management of the various Adobe file types easier to have this option.

    Hi Daniela,
    I would make sure you have the correct email on Adobe.com first. You can change it using the process here if needed: Adobe ID, sign in, and account help
    You could also create a new Adobe ID with the correct email address if needed. Once you have the correct email set on Adobe.com you should be able to complete the verification process.
    You can sign out of the currently used email address in the Creative Cloud app from its preferences Gear icon in the top right > Preferences > Account section
    Solution 5 (with the app closed will also reset it) App doesn't open | Progress wheel spins continually
    and on relaunch  you should be prompted to re-enter it

    Don't even try... a USB drive that can be unplugged and replugged is going to cause constant problems
    You need a new C drive and reinstall everything on the new drive

    I want the apps in English because I am learning everything with online tutorials and stuff like that, I dont have a class that teaches after effects or illustrator, and most online tutorials are English. I am just don't want to have any translation problems when I am watching or reading an English tutorial while working in a German app... And I think it is a good way to improve my English-Vocabulary if I use it more often, I have nearly every Software on my laptop in English, it helps if I have any troubles because the chance that google finds something useful is waaay higher.

    I am sorry Scottcommercialrealtor I missed the fact you were installing Creative Cloud, we have had a lot of traffic with the release of CS6 and Creative Cloud, you can only customize the install location for Creative Cloud.  You can do so by clicking on your name in the Adobe Application Manager and selecting preferences.  The install files will have to be downloaded to your OS volume but you can choose to install many of the components of the applications on a separate drive.  The shared components though will also need to be installed on your OS volume.
    SSD solutions I would honestly recommend having your OS and Apps installed on the same drive so you can maximize your performance.  You can then use a standard hard drive for your documents, videos, and images.  You mentioned that you purchased a 128 gig SSD.  You might consider cloning the 64 gig drive over to the 128 and then having your OS and Apps installed on the same drive.
