Yes the Apple ID is the thing that ties your devices to you and shares your information and content between them.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

I can't find my notes in my iCloud account. I checked my iPhone 4, and it says that they are still being saved to the iCloud. Where did they go?

I'm not familiar with the PC end of things, but in a recent post I read about someone using notes.exe to access notes (I'm assuming they knew what they were talking about) - would your installation of icloud app(s) include a notes program?  At least do this, log into icloud.com with a computer browser and look in mail.  There should be a notes "folder" listed along with the others you may have defined.  Are you notes there?  If not, that's the problem.  Be sure notes is turned on in Settings>icloud on your device.  if they are there, then it looks like the PC end is the problem - but I can't provide help concerning that.

Use Migration Assistant on your new Mac:
    Click Continue:
On the next screen, choose your Time Machine backup disk.
Don't bother to migrate Applications unless you know they will work on your new Mac. For example, PowerPC applications won't work. Just migrate your user account which will copy all your photos, music, movies, and other documents.
Note: you will not be able to migrate the information to same account in which you are already logged in. Migration Assistant will tell you that and recommend what to do. It can migrate the information to a new account, but you will have to give it a name you might want to change later. One way around this is to create a temporary account, log in to it, and run Migration Assistant which will replace your normal account. Then, log out of the temporary account, log in to your usual one, verify everyting works as you expect, and delete the temporary one.
All this can be avoided when you set up a brand new Mac by running Setup Assistant which essentially does the same thing to create your new account, but most people are too excited to do that and elect to migrate later.

How can I view my pictures that were backed up to iTunes? I no longer have an apple product but need to view the pictures for very important reasons.

If you mean backed up as part of an iPhone backup in iTunes?  If so, you would have to use 3rd party software to extract them from the backup, such as iPhone Backup Extractor.

  • HT201342 how can i change my email address on icloud account, it is already changed on my apple id

How can I change my email address on icloud, I have already changed it on my apple id, but it still is asking for lmy old email and password and I can not back up or anything?

    Hello RousePryor
If the iCloud account ends with an @icloud.com, then that is something that you cannot change it. If that is not the case, then you will need to sign out and may need to change it back to the old Apple ID to do so.

  • Changing email address on iCloud account

My email was hacked a while ago, and I managed to change email addresses on most accounts I can't seem to change the address on my iCloud account, any help please?????!!!!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • TS3988 Can not change e-mail address in iCloud

HI, I am trying up  change my email address in icloud it just  won't let me delete it and re installit in the new email address, I had to reset my password. I managed to change  my Mac and Ipad but this phone many thanks

If you're trying to change the iCloud ID (email address) on your device(s) you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Would I be able to change my email address on my account to a old email address on an apple id I used to use?

I want to change my email address on my original apple id. But it says I can't because the email I want to change it to is being used. So i went onto the account and changed the email address to something different but It still marks it as used. Is there a way that can be changed?

The question is, did you change the email address in your existing Apple ID or did you make a new Apple ID with the new email address. if you made a new Apple ID, then you messed up. The content (free & bought) is forever tied to the Apple ID that acquired it. Onlt that Apple ID can update or redownload the content. If you made a new Apple ID you will not be able to update any of the content from the previous Apple ID unless you maintain that Apple ID. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another ID and Apple does not merge Apple IDs.

  • How can i change de name of my icloud account?

Here's the problem.  I've been using the same itunes account for years.  It's on my girlfriends name.
Since I've been using my macbook pro for my company, everythime I send an ical invitation to someone they see her name instead of my name.
    So my question is:
How can I change the name of the icloud account?  or How can I change the config of ical so it will only invite people from my email adress and not the icloud adress?
    thanks

You could set up a new account in "Settings > iCloud" and use that for email and calendar (http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/).

  • How can I change a calendar from an iCloud account to another account?

I am trying to move a calender from a icloud account to another icloud account, how can I do that?
    Thank you

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Create a new empty calendar from the iCal file menu, select which account you want to create it in.
To copy a calendar ctrl-click on it from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button (top left corner of iCal) and choose export (export it to your desktop for ease)
Double click the exported file and choose the new empty calendar to import them into.
Ctrl-click on the original calendar from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button and choose delete.

    From About Windows Migration Assistant:
Outlook and Outlook Express contacts, and Windows Contacts from the Contact home directory are transferred to Address Book.
Migration Assistant will create a new user account and copy things into it.

  • Our family has 1 Apple id. My sons received many itunes gift cards. Can I set up sub-accounts under my id? If I create new ids, will they lose access to the content purchased under wmy id?

Our family has 1 Apple id with 2 itouches, 1 ipad and 1 iphone.  My sons received several itunes gift cards. Can I set up sub-accounts under my id and deposit their gift cards into them (like a bank account)? If I can't, it seems that I will have to keep track of each of their purchases until they reach the limit of their gift cards, before they go over.  This makes no sense.  If I have to create new ids, will they lose access to all the content purchased under my id?

    - You can't create subaccounts.
    - You can create new account(s). The media on the iPod is still usable. It does create more work when updating apps since yo have to sign into the account that purchased them to update them. If you have apps purchased from more than one account that need update you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased with one account.
    - To change accounts for purchasing go to Settings> Store (or Settings.iTunes and App store depending upon the iOS) and sign out and sign in with different account.

In this board, look at left area, My name is Joy Neop, but there are wrongs that my first name and last name changed position each other.
    I clicked "Account Details", and...
And I tried changing, but after I click "OK", nothing changed.
I then quit System Preferences and relaunch it, but the border's content turned back like the first capture shows.
    I need help...

There are no applications in your mobile documents folder.
Click on the Finder to activate it and then go to the "Go" menu, with the menu displaying hold down the alt key on your keyboard and you will see a "library" option appear in the menu. Select the library option from the menu and your finder window will change to display the contents of your library folder. Navigate to the mobile documents folder and look for a folder that is associated with your password app. Hopefully inside that folder you will find the document that you are looking for.
