How can i change  Primary Email Address in apple ID.

You cannot change a *.mac, *.me or *.icloud email address - any Apple issued email address cannot be changed.  Only non-apple issued primary email addresses are editable.

  • Can you change the email/username for Apple ID?

Can you change the email/username for Apple ID? I got my apple ID when i was younger and now have a different email address and dont ever go on my old email. I do not like that everything is linked to that email or that my computer now sendds people emails from my previous email instead of my current email. I want all things to be linked to my new email and my older email to be out of the picture! please help!!

Yes, you can update the primary email address on an account (as long as the address that you want to change to isn't currently a primary email address on another account) by logging into the account via the Store > View Account menu option on a computer's iTunes, by logging into it via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com, or by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on an iOS device and logging into it

  • How can i change the email address for apple id and icloud?, how can i change the email address for apple id and icloud?

i had to change the email address to my apple id. now when ever i try to use imessage or the icloud, it wont let me because it is using the old email address. i cant change it on my phone and idk what to do on my computer!

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I Can't Change The Email On My Apple ID

Hello There, I Want To Update A Program On My Mac, I Go Onto The App Store, I Press "Update" And It Says "Enter Your Apple ID" And "Enter Your Password" But I Can't Change The Apple ID To My Own One Because I Have To Use My Cousins Password Because It's His Email Account Its Locked Onto... No Matter How Many Times I Click The Field For The Apple ID, It Won't Change But I Can Put The Password In............ HELP!!!!

That is because the app you are attempting to update is not owned by your Apple ID. You will have to delete the app and re-purchase it with your own ID, or continue to use your cousin's password to update it.

  • How can I change my email address in Apple Discussions?

I need help with another question about confusing, obtuse Apple programing, specifically the Apple Website Discusion Forum itself.
For one thing – I didn't see a forum set up to ask questions about the Apple Support Discusion Forum. I'd say it's an important topic considering Apple still provides no guidebook with it's software.
My question is simple: I've left AOL and I'd like to change my email address within the discussion Forum, and possibly rename myself for privacy reasons (whynot). How do I do that?

  • How can I change my email address on Apple Support Communities?

Currently, I receive emails from Apple Support Communities on my Hotmail account, which is also my Apple ID.
I have now created a similar alias @icloud.com and I would like to send all the mail from Apple Support Communities to my new iCloud email.
    I

I guess it would help. All I really need is for my all emails from Apple Support Communities to go to my account @icloud.com. But Apple ID does not allow to use emails created on Apple-owned domains. So I technically must have at least 2 email accounts, which isn't really convenient.

  • I had to change my email for my apple account on my iPhone 4.  when I go to add an app or update an app it shows the old email.. so I can't delete apps for this to work becuz I would have to delete my apple store app and it won't let me

I had to change my email for my apple acct on my iPhone e 4.  When I go add an app or update an app the old apple email comes up.  I can't delete an apple store app.  So how do I refresh the apple store app?

    Hi skippy2012trev,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    Joe

  • HT1918 How can I change my rescue email. I am trying to change my email for my Apple account because I can no longer access the email on the account. My only email I use is my rescue email and it will not allow me to change my Apple ID email to my rescue

How can I change my rescue email or get rid of it? I need to change my email under my apple ID to the email that is my rescue email. It won't allow me to have the same email. I only have one email address and can no longer access the email address under my apple ID

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Once you have created a rescue address, you cannot delete it, nor can you change it to the same address as used by your ID. There are numerous providers you can get additional email addresses from, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Google etc etc.

My email address in the imessage part of my ipad is incorrect. How can I change the email address to conform with the email address on the rest of my apple products? I can get messages on my iphone, mac but not on my ipad because of the incorrect address.

Go on to settings> Messages > send and receive
this should give you the opportunity to edit email adressed
    Hope it helps.

  • I changed my email on my apple id to the new one, i update the ios8 on 5s and there's an old id that I can't remove it, I can't restore, too. Please help me.

I changed an email on my apple ID to the new one. I upgraded my 5s to ios8, it required the password on the old email that I can't reach it. I tried to restore but I can't. In conclusion, I changed an email to the new one but it still the old on the updated 5s and I filled down the password and it said "incorrect ID or password" so I can't change it into the new one. How should I do? Thank you so much.

Yes, absolutely, you can still use the old ID to update, etc., but I understood the OP to want to simply discard the old one and use only the new one. Maybe I misunderstood...
And, actually just now re-reading the first post, it could be that the ID had only been associated with the iDevices, so if he established a new ID and associated that with the new MBP, I frankly have no idea if he can still use the old ID on that machine (based on him saying that the old ID is greyed out) - have not come up with this type of situation before.
