Can I change my icloud email?

I needed to get a new email for school and instead of using 2 emails I want to only use one. I updated the new email to be my Apple ID, but how can I change the new email to be my iCloud?

i have not had icloud email for 36 hours. it is now wedn Sept 12 in the AM!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted. If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. That's definitely not supposed to happen. You shouldn't have someone else's iCloud email linked to your ID.
You'll have to get iCloud support to sort this one out. The only way to contact them is to start here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/. You'll have to provide your iPhone serial number. Unless it's within the 90 day free support window, or you purchased AppleCare, there will be a charge. I suppose you can plead your case when they answer that you shouldn't be charged as you didn't set up this address and it shouldn't have happened with your ID.

That's Activation Lock. You will need to remember the Apple ID and password you used to set up the phone.
If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
If you are the original owner of the phone & have proof of purchase, you can try calling Apple to see if they can assist also.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

Jeffrey is correct: but you do have the option to add up to three 'email aliases' which are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main address. Indeed it's a good idea to give out an alias address rather than the master address, in case of spam or other problems: you easily delete an alias without impinging on the behaviour of the rest of the account.
There seem to be problems at the moment about creating aliases, so if you find you can't, give it a couple of days and try again.

You should be aware that, once created, aliases can't be moved to another account, nor turned into full accounts, nor reactivated once deleted.

Unfortunately it is not possible to change your primary mac.com or me.com email address for iCloud (See also Apple's FAQ: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs cannot be renamed), but you could stop using this account and create a new one.
Another option would be to create up to three email alises for your current primary email address.
Try this to create a new alias for your me.com address:
Open the web interface of iCloud "www.icloud.com" with Safari

If I am understanding you correctly, it sounds like your daughter may have set up an alias account under iCloud. Your AppleID email address may or may not be the same as you iCloud email address, depending on how it was set up. You can't change your @icloud.com email address, but you can create an @icloud.com email alias with the name you want to use. This will receive email in your current iCoud email inbox. This article explains how to create an alias address: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622. Be aware that when you create an alias address, you can't later use that address to create a new iCloud account. You also can't transfer it to another account or reactivate it should you ever delete it.
