Can I change my iPhone 5 for a new one if it's still under warranty??

Hey guys, I am with AT&T since november 2012...I am on a 2 year contract and got an iPhone 5...I am really enjoying the phone and iOS in general.
I have a question if I can exchange my current iPhone 5 for a brand new iPhone 5...I am still under 1 year factory warranty.
I was at my friends house one day...and by accident my phone fell from a 5th floor...it got a few dings...around the metal plated area...and I got really lucky because the phone lended on a grass...but some mud got stuck in a speaker area and the headphone jack area...

Have you checked your Control Panel to make sure you don't have the flashlight turned on?
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and make sure the flashlight icon (bottom left-hand corner) is not white. If it is, tap on it to turn it off.

Why do you want to replace it? Is is defective? If there is a legitimate defect, Apple will replace it via warranty after evaluation. If you want to return the phone, I believe you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it.
If you want to exchange it, sell your phone and buy another.

I was just wondering how upgrades work in terms of me being able to trade in my iPhone 5 for a more recent model like the iPhone 6 and when and if I am able to do it. To add to what AnyPats stated, Apple DOES (on occasion) purchase older devices for store credit (amount depending on the condition and memory size of the device). You would need to visit a retail store to see if your phone would be accepted.

I can't change my credit card for a new one so I can't download any apps.

Hey Arthurjm, you never really stated that you have a problem, assuming your headphones / earbuds stopped working one or both sides not producing sound, if it is determined by Apple that the reason they stopped working is due to a defect in manufacturing and not from abusive usage-- miss handling, something you have done-- and you are within the 1 year from purchase date, then yes Apple will replace your Apple headphones / earbuds free of charge. Seeing as you are in Indonesia with no local Apple store and it is 4 May and your warranty runs out 11 May-- Good luck, because time it not on your side. Try Illaass' link or at least contact Apple online or by phone and get a repair ticket started you may be able to beat the cut off date on your warranty. If the headphones / earbuds have to be in Apples hands before the warranty runs out, you may be out of luck. Hope this helps. Good luck, Cheers.

No. Your "problem" isn't covered by the warranty. It's not malfunctioning. It's working exactly as it was designed to. Sell your phone and use the proceeds to buy a new one.
You can't get a replacement from your car just because the newer models off the line are being built with a feature yours didn't come with.

Yep, that's the only message that popped out. Nothing else. Yes, it's running on the latest ios and I still can't restore it. I called apple and they told me it's probably something wrong with their servers. Anyway thanks for the advice.

If your iPod is 8GB, then it is not a 3rd generation Touch - no matter who they are and no matter who said it was! If it has model number A1288 etched into the casing on the back, then that identifies the 2nd gen Touch. (Yes, there is a 4th gen Touch in 8Gb capacity, but still no 8GB 3rd gen - ever). The third generation is model No. A1318.

a 2nd generation Touch (including the 8GB) can install iOS 4.2.1 But that's as high as it can go. So that's incorrect!

you can still use it as a music player, so guess what, wrong again!

If you are past the return date, you can sell the older iPad and put the money towards a new one.

The program is for replacement since Apple does not repair iDevices...you take your non-working or damaged iPhone to an Apple store genius bar, or send to Apple service, and they provide a refurbished unit as a replacement, for a fee, of course. You will have to talk with Apple to see if you get all components or just the iPhone replaced.
With AppleCare+ you can have two out-of-warranty replacements for a cost of $49 each.
