Can I change the time of the Next Backup?

Is it possible to manually change the Next Backup time? I want to change it to the top of the hour precisely.

Not permanently. You can turn TM off, then at exactly the top of the hour, turn it back on.
It will then do backups at approximately the top of the hour, until there's a reason for it to change. Among other things, when your Mac wakes from sleep, or powers on, the schedule may be reset.
Why do you want to do this? Normally, TM backups should be small and quick; I rarely notice mine unless I happen to see the icon spinning.
If your backups are too large, see #D4 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.
If they're of a reasonable size, but take too long, see #D2 there.

  • How can I change the "next backup time" in Time Machine

I have multiple Macs all of which are running Snow Leopard and all of which back up to the same Time Capsule. Lately they seem to all have synchronized to back up at exactly the same start time which really slows down the individual backup times since the Time Capsule is slow to begin with. I would like to force Time Machine on each Mac to start at a different time so that only one Mac at a time would be backing up to the Time Capsule. Is there a way to do this?

I don't think you can actually specify a time but the previous and next back up time is offered.
You could turn off Time machine for a couple of hours on one, just to test, then restart it.   It should then be two hours later than the rest.   If the theory works it's just a question of patiently organising things.

  • TS4036 Can you change the iCloud backup date to a previous backup date?

Can you change the iCloud backup date? My iPhones processor went out and erased all of my information and saved that as my last iCloud backup, is there a way to restore my phone for the day before this happened to get all of my information back?

Long story short, I had to make a clean install of OS X (mountain lion) when I was outside my country, and if I can't show the guy at the customs back home that I purchased the macpro before making the trip, I'll have to pay taxes for it.
I could have filled the papers for that but I almost miss the plane and there was a long queue.

  • Can I change the "Next Page" key?

Hey. Is it possible to change the "Next Page" key from the right arrow to some other key on the keyboard? I'd rather use the "S" key to go to the next page, rather than the right arrow..
    Thanks!

No, Reader does not let you customize keys.

  • HT4946 Can we change the default backup directory for iPhones in iTunes ?  My C:\ drive is FULL due to the 64 GB backup that I just tried to do... I have an external that would handle it.

Finally!  After jumping thru 15,000 hoops I finally get to ask my question!
I have a 40 GB main drive that is full to bursting on account of iTunes backing up my iPhone to it [64 GB iPhone].  All I ever intended to put on this drive was my OS [Win XP], then all sorts of programs that I chose to install started defaulting to it without the option of changing the drive designation.  Enter Apple, who does the same thing and then offers no clear way to change it!  GRRRRRR!
Can someone please find an easy way for me to back this thing up without selling a kidney to afford the iCloud [which I rashly assumed was free according to the advertising!  5 GB wouldn't back up my notes let alone my apps or photos!  The Cloud should match the size of device you purchase!]
    Thanks,
    Dave

You need to add that attribute using the config tool for your view configuration. Select the attribute All Day from the context node BTDATE in the available fields to your display field and then save it. It should now be visible in your UI and now you can select or uncheck it to make the time field enable. Check the below image

  • Can you change the legth of time (or number of rings) it takes for on iphone 4 to time out making an outgonig call?

Can you change the legth of time (or number of rings) it takes for on iphone 4 to time out making an outgonig call?
Mostly it's to call in for radio contests. The Iphone is really good at making a quick call, but it seems to timeout after 15-20 rings. I realise this is a small thing, but free tickets is free tickets.
Most commenst I see is abotu incoling calls, not outging.
    Thanks.

No. You can't do this with any phone.

  • My mother used to be the bill payer on my iTunes account so now every time I send an email from my iCloud account it sent with her name, how can I change the settings so emails are sent from myself?

My mother used to be the bill payer on my iTunes account so now every time I send an email from my iCloud account it sent with her name, how can I change the settings so emails are sent from myself?
I've changed the bill payer to myself but it stills says on emails that I sent that its from my mother.

In order for the "From" field to show you options on the "from" addresses available, you must set them up in the Preferences > Accounts first.
I can't show you a screen shot of the from field because I currently only have one account, so the from address used is the default. However, when I had more than one, then options will show up in your compose/reply window.
You'd need to add an account here:

  • How many times can you change the region of the computer

i need to know. is there a limit?

That's not what the above KB article says but I've never tried it.
    This is what is states:
In Mac OS X, this dialog box appears the first time a DVD disc is inserted:
"Since this is the first use of a DVD disc, the drive region code must be initialized before playing.
"New Drive Setting: Region Code 1
"You can only change the drive region code 5 more times."
As I read that, once you set the region code, there are five additional changes permitted. As I said I haven't tried it and I'm not about to.

  • Bug(?) with iCal - Can not change the event time

    Hello all,
First of all, let me preface my question by admitting that I'm new to the Mac world, transitioning from MS environment. So please, be a bit patient
    Now, on to my problem:
I have created events in iCal and I can not change the time for any event. The time that's always displayed is 15:54! I have checked the time zone setting to on/off to se if it makes a difference, but to no avail. I have also gone into preferences and under the General Tab, the Day starts at and the Day ends at: show three (3) selections; Noon, 15:54, Midnight !!???
I have changed the Show hours at a time, to see if that makes a difference, but it does not.
To add to the above mystery, I have created events with my mobile SonyEricsson K850i, with the correct time(s), date, etc., synchronized with iCal and the time changed to 15:54!!
This is a new MacBook Pro, with the latest patches! For some reason the iCal applet does not allow any changes to the time.
Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
I am having the exact same problem you discussed and was wondering whether you ever found a solution.
    Cheers,
    Anna

  • When I receive and answer e-mail, the correspondence is usually "nested" with the original message, and the number of replies, etc. are indicated with a number next to the original message.  How can I change the mail settings so that every reply is listed

When I receive and answer e-mail, the correspondence is usually "nested" "behind"  the original message, and the number of replies, etc. are indicated with a number next to the original message in the inbox.  How can I change the mail settings so that every reply is listed individually in the inbox instead of having them "stacked" behind the original message.  I'm afraid I might accidentially overlook messages the way they are handled now.

Somebody here will correct me if I'm wrong, but what you have to do is go into Settings, Mail/Contacts/Calendars and under Mail, turn off "Organize by Thread".  I think that will make each message show individually.
