Can I charge my Ipad in Europe without using a voltage converter?

Just spent 10 days in Ireland with our recently-purchased iPad and had no trouble charging it with the proper adaptor. NOTE: The UK uses a different adapter than continental Europe. Make sure you have the right adaptor for the counties you will visit. This article is helpful:

  • I am taking my iPhone5 to Peru, where the voltage in electrical outlets is 220V. Can I recharge my iphone directly from the power outlet without using a voltage converter?

Can I recharge my iPhone 5 directly from a power oulet in Peru where the line voltage is 220V without using a voltage converter?

I would like to have a go at this.
I am presently in Hong Kong. Just prior to this trip, I purchased an iP5. I have taken my iP4S to many countries and charged the phone by either using the USB connection to my laptop or by using Apple's World Travel Adaptor Kit.
Only after getting to HKG did I try to hook up my iP5 to the Apple travel adaptors and of course they do not fot and I do not have an adaptor that goes from 30 pin to the lightning cable.
So is it actually safe to take the original iP5 cable and charger and simply add an international plug adaptor that I am also using with my laptop? If so does that in fact mean that the iP5 can take 220 without converting the voltage that I thought was done by the Apple Travel Adaptor Kit?

  • Can i use my i phone and i pad chargers when in a foreign country with 220 volt service without using a voltage converter?

Can I use my i phone and i pad chargers in China where the voltage is 220 volts? I realize that I will need a plug adaptor, but the question is do I need a voltage converter?

You should read the fine print on your charger.  The one I got with my iPad 4 (12 watt) says "Input: 100-240V".  So it should work with 220V with another adaptor.  The iPhone charger does not allow other adaptors but can use an iPad charger with an iPhone.

  • Can I charge my iPad mini and/or my iPhone 4S from 220 volt outlets using just the correct plug adapter for the country.

Can I charge my iPad mini and/or my iPhone 4S from 220 volt outlets using just the correct plug adapter for the country, without a power converter?

Not staff or owner by a long shot.
I just know that anecdotally I have seen people reporting issues with their mini's charging. Is there a real issue or not? I don't know. Not a day goes by that a person doesn't post here complaining that their iPad won't charge and it turns out that they're trying to do it via USB or with the iPhone block.
But while there are a lot of user fixes sometimes it's good to have the pros take a look at things, and at the very least document that there has been an issue.
the four main reasons an iPad won't charge (beyond being plugged into a USB port)
    Bad cable
    bad outlet
    bad brick
rule those out and it leaves issue with the iPad.

  • Can my iPhone or iPad be keylogged without ever being connected to a computer?

Can my iPhone or iPad be keylogged without ever being connected to a computer?
I have tried using my iTunes on both and everytime i go and i try to log-in with my apple id it will not allow me to.  Says my password is incorrect when i know it is correct as I just used same password to download an App...  So i just decided to try and create a new apple id inside of iTunes and everytime I do it says email is already in use but I have even tried crazy things such as my birthday mixed with nicknames and date of graduation up to about 14 characters long and it keeps saying email already exists when no one in their right mind could or would create some of these...  Any help would be greatly appreciated to what the problem could be.  Phone is not jailbroken

Do you know what could cause this and if so in which way can I fix it?

  • Can you charge an ipad with an iphone charger

can you charge an ipad with an iphone charger?

Yes, you will cause no damage... it will just take a lot longer...
    iPad Charging
"The fastest way to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter.
iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter.
When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode.
Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain."

  • How can I charge my iPad 2 when I'm already using the port for a projector?

I run training workshops all day and want to use my iPad to run Keynote or PowerPoint through a projector. I already have the VGA adaptor and that all works fine. Trouble is, the battery only lasts half the day. So I have to swap over to a netbook for the rest of that day while the iPad charges...
Is there a double-adaptor that will allow me to plug the charger in as well as the VGA adaptor?
Seems such an obvious thing to want to do but I've looked all over for an adaptor and I haven't found one...
How can you charge an iPad if the only port on it is already occupied?
    Cheers
    Steve

    Hi Texas Mac Man
Thanks for your suggestion. Kinda means I have to buy a wireless-capable projector. Most of the VGA projectors in the venues I work with are fixed-in-the-ceiling and not wireless capable...
My luck with doing off-the-mainstream stuff like jailbreak etc is that (1) it won't work for me, or (2) it all goes horribly wrong, stuffs up my machine and voids the warranty... So I tend to stick to the proprietory stuff.
Not very adventurous, but then I need dependable stuff with a warranty and someone I can yell at to fix it.
Maybe Apple will read this and provide a risk-free solution.
    You never know....
    But thank you.

    Hard Reset
Press and hold BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
if no result try to back up and restore via itunes on a computer.
    if wont restore try this
    recovery mode
    open itunes on computer
plug cable into computer not iOS device
    turn device off
hold home button and plug cable into IOS device.  do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on IOS device.
look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore

  • Can i sync my iPad and iPhone without hooking it up to a computer

can i sync my ipad and iphone without hooking it up to a computer

That all depends on what you mean by sync. If you want to share iTunes content such as music, apps and videos, then yes, they both must be logged in to the same iTunes store account.
If you want to sync contacts, calendars, notes and reminders, again the answer is yes, you just need to sync them to the same iCould account.
For non-iTunes music there's iTunes Match.
To sync photos there' Photo Stream.
It there something else you want to sync that I have missed?

  • I can't charge My iPad's battery

    I can't charge My iPad's battery

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • HT4060 I can't charge my ipad. Why?

I can't charge my ipad. I tried whith computer and with outlet, but nothing happened. I tried different chargers but nothing.
Is it a battery problem o a plug problem? Thanks!!!

Plug it into a wall outlet with the original charger & block for several hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, perform a reset by holding down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.
