Can I charge the shuffle with an iPad power adapter?

Can I charge the ipod shuffle 4th generation with an iPad2 power adapter?

This looks like the current power adapter for an iPad.

  • Can i charge the iphone with 1,5 A ?

i have panasonic QE-PL201-K Lithium ion mobile battery. Can i use to charge the iphone?
Normaly; iphone charger's output 5V and 1A. But PL201's output current is 1,5A.
So, is it possible to charge the iphone ? If I use, any damage to the iphone?

you can charge it with 15 A if you have access
    ohm's law states
Volt / resistance == Amps the device draw out of the charger
the resistence of the iphone is a conasnt
so as long as volts are kept at 5
then the iphone will PULL a const number of amps
    not more
even if the charger can provide 5volt with 10MEGA Amps

  • Can I charge my ipod with an iphone power brick

I have a recently purchased iPod Shuffle and expect it is a 4th generation.  It came with a charger that fits into the earphone port and attaches to a USB port for charging.  Can I use the power brick that comes with an iPhone 4 and attach my iPod charger to the USB port on the brick and charde the iPod without damaging the iPod?

    Yes.

  • Can I charge my new ipod using firewire power adapter?

Just got my new 30GB ipod and realised that it doesn't come with power adapter to plug in directly in power outlet.
Can I use the firewire power adapter which I have leftover after my 3rd gen ipod died on me?
Also can I use the firewire to connect it to my powerbook for charging and song transfer? I thought firewire is faster than usb2 then why new ipods don't come with firewire cable anymore?
    Many thanks.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

think if you do your research and read up you will see the USB2 is indeed faster than Firewire. I actually did a few test on a dual G5 using both the Firewire and USB2 and in all my test, USB2 was faster.
If USB2 was faster for you, that's wonderful. I'm not about to start arguing with you over it.
What I can tell you is that you're certainly in the minority if this was the case for you.
USB2 has a theoretical maximum speed of 480Mbps. While this is certainly a higher number than Firewire 400's 400Mbps, Firewire will still vastly outperform USB2 in almost every case. It is near impossible to get anywhere close to 480Mbps with USB2. Even under ideal conditions, USB2 still has to contend with other processes on the machine, and other devices in the bus.
This is the nature of USB's design.
It is not uncommon for Firewire to reach near maximum speeds consistently. This has been proven time and time again.
Like I mentioned already, if USB2 is faster for you... go ahead and use it. I'm not going to tell you otherwise.
I'm quite sure I've done sufficient research on this, as well as many other people in this industry, and these forums. Perhaps it is you that might want to do a little more reading.

  • Since 10.7.4 update keep getting wifi self assigned address message. I can get on with iMac but can't share the wifi with my iPad.

    Anyone have any fixes?

This is confusing as you say in the first post you have Lion installed and want to upgrade to Mavericks, and in your second post say Mavericks is installed.  If you have Mavericks installed, what are you trying to upgrade?
As to your request in the first post, there is no DVD or USB version of Mavericks available.  Mavericks is only available by Internet download.

Try resetting it: Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

  • My brand new Ipad 2 is not charging the battery with py PC thru USB. Is that normal? When I plug it directly into the wall, it works... Thanks! Sam

My brand new Ipad 2 is not charging the battery with py PC thru USB. Is that normal? When I plug it directly into the wall, it works... Thanks! Sam

It talks extensively about charging in the user guide, and how USB ports on PCs and older Macs may not provide sufficient power to charge the iPad.  The user guide is available for free from the iBook store (accessed directly via the iPad iBooks app).
My iPad charges fine when plugged in to the back of my iMac, but I would always prefer to use the mains adaptor to save the strain on my USB circuits (which can wear out if used heavily to power external devices).

  • My iPad has to be really really close to the router for it to have internet. How can I make it so I can go around the house with it?

My iPad has to be really really close to the router for it to have internet. How can I make it so I can go around the house with it? My iPad has been like this for a couple of months, and it has really irritated me. My friend came over and he had to download iTunes for something on the computer. He needed my iPad, he tried it and it wasn't really near the router.

I'd begin by reviewing the following:

  • The computer that I used to sync my Ipad with crashed.  How can I copy the pictures from my Ipad to my new computer?

The computer that I used to sync my Ipad with crashed.  How can I copy the pictures from my Ipad to my new computer?  When I try to use Picassa to import them I can only see the 'Camera Roll; folder but I have several other folders with hundreds of pictures in them

To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

  • How can I connect the iTunes in my iPad (now with iOS7) to my Power PC Mac?

How can I connect the iTunes in my iPad (now with iOS7) to my Power PC Mac?

Nope, the top OS version for the IBM processor is 10.5.8, and under that version I can not update the iTunes further than the 10.6.3 :-(
But that means the brand leaves a large chunch os costumers with still perfectly operating computers out of the loop on purpose, so to force us to upgrade computer?
Not fair at all, both are legitimate Apple products, they should sync no matter what! The sad thing is theu used to, before I migrated to iOS7 on the iPad, move that I now regret...

  • I have a iMac with a built in airport extreme card.  Does the imac act as a wireless router so that I can connect to the internet from my iPad by tethering through my iMac?

I have a iMac with a built in airport extreme card.  Does the imac act as a wireless router so that I can connect to the internet from my iPad by tethering through my iMac?

Depends which iMac exactly and your network setup, you can go into System Preferences and under the Sharing pane you can enable internet sharing from ethernet (or whereever you get your internet from) to Wi-Fi.

  • Can I connect to the internet with an Ipad in Santo Domingo, DR while I'm on vacation?

Can I connect to the internet with an Ipad in Santo Domingo, DR while I'm on vacation?

Lots of hotels in the DR have WiFi. And there is plenty of cellular coverage in Santo Domingo (and elsewhere).
One thing to be careful of, the WiFi networks are usually not secured and are very vulnerable to people "listening" for passwords and user names, so don't do any financial transactions online and perhaps consider setting up some temporary passwords for the trip and changing them when you get home.
