Can i chose which photo's etc I upload to iCloud in photos app

Although downloaded the photo's app I have not activated it because I want to chose which of my photos to go to iCloud , is this possible as I don't want Apple to do this automatically.

Hi 11woodchip,
The iCloud Photo Library is actually seperate from the new Photos application, as noted in the following article:
Turn on iCloud Photo Library to access your photos on other Apple devices
If you’d like to use iCloud Photo Library after you upgrade to Photos, you can turn it on in Photos > Preferences > iCloud. Photos and videos from your System Photo Library will begin to upload to iCloud in their full resolution and original format. Photos will estimate the size of your collection and help you select a different iCloud storage plan if needed.

  • I can't get my movies, music, etc to sync through iCloud on my ipad2. In settings I go to "store" but it won't let me select "on". It just goes back to " off" everytime

In settings my iPad won't let me select "on" to sync music, apps and books. I am connected to the Internet

to enable icloud you tap "settings" -> "icloud". Make sure you sign in with a valid iCloud Apple-ID. Then you can turn on the various features that are part of iCloud.
Video or Music Syncing is not a feature of it.  Instead you use itunes in the cloud which let's you re-download purchases. This however depends if the service is available in your country.
Worldwide only purchased books and apps are supported for free-of-charge-redownload on your devices.

  • Anyone else noticed that the upload to iCloud from Photos.app takes a very long time?

I have a Photos library that weight about 60 gig. I have 200 gig on iCloud. Photos have now been sending data  for over 12 hours at a 200 K/sec pace. Has anyone else experienced slow sending? Anyone who has an idea of what I can do? Or maybe it's just a very long way to send images from Sweden to US and back again to my other devices.

Part of the issue is that Apple's servers are likely under some strain. The other part of it is, how fast is your upload from your ISP? 5Mbps upload is the standard for most Americans, but that only means 625KB/sec maximum.
Apple appears to be aware of how long large libraries will take to first upload, which is why Photos preferences offers the option to pause the upload for a day. That implies to me that this will take many days to upload completely.

  • "all photos" album not including all photos. Causing some photo not to be uploaded to iCloud Photo Library

After updating to iCloud photo library (iPhone 5, iOS 8.1), if I look at my "photos" tab I see over 700 photos, but in the  'all photos' album I only have 420. This results in only 420 of the photos uploaded to iCloud Photo library and not clearing much space off of my iPhone.

The FAVOURITES and PANOS albums also sort by date and time too. So all the albums sort by time and day except the ALL PHOTOS album! Seems very strange! What's even odder is that the date range listed at the top of the ALL PHOTOS album would suggest that they are sorted by date!
Apple I hope you SORT this out soon

  • With iOS 7 can you chose which restore point you want to restore?

I accidently deleted some stuff off my iphone about a week to two weeks ago and I can't figure out how to get it back. I know with the iOS 6 you could choose where to restore from. Is there anyway I can do that with the iOS 7?

I had to reset my iPhone 4S when I got iOS 7 and it allowed me to choose the last back up from iCloud and it also did it when I got my new iPhone 5s!
    Hope this helps!

  • If apple replaces my iPod touch due to a faulty power button can I chose which color I get?

I have black but I would like to switch to white

If you bring it to the Genius bar at the Apple store, they might be willing to give you the color you want; no guarantees of course, the warranty says replace in kind, but they might be generous.

  • Why are some of my contact photos address book not uploading to iCloud contact

I have added some new contact photos to my address book in my powerbook but it absolutely refuses to upload to the icloud and hence my iphone and iPad.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi MoLovin,
If you are having issues with your iPhone's photos not displaying in the correct order, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Photos not uploading to iCloud from Photos?

    Hi all,
I have recently purchased 200GB worth of storage for iCloud and was hoping to store all my photos on iCloud and see them on all my devices. I thought that it would automatically upload and I knew it would take some time as I have 20,000 pictures but its only upload 1,800 photos from the photos program...
Can anyone help to explain why its done this or how I get all 20,000 up to iCloud?
    Thanks
    Andy

  • Chose which item to syncronise between Outlook/OraCal

    Hi there
we use outlook connector (Win) to syncronise between a mobile, outlook and oracal.
the syncronisation works perfect. Between my mobile and outlook I can chose, which items (tasks, events etc.) I want to have syncronised.
Between outlook and oracal I miss this option. Where can I chose which items to syncronise?
For example, I want to syncronise only events between Outlook and OraCal.
    thanks for any help
    bettina

    Bonjour Bettina,
Maybe it's the terminology being use that is confusing in this post.
    Oracle has multiple Calendar Client.
Oracle Connector for Outlook (OCFO) is a plug-in on top of Outlook.
What you refers as ocal, I assume you are talking about the Oracle Desktop client (available for windows, Mac and Linux)
Think of all of these calendar clients as a mean to see what is stored on the calendar server.
Therefore, no matter how many clients you are using, each will display the same information and no synchronization is needed between them.
Now for your Mobile, if you synchronize it with the OCFO client, then the information is also pushed to the calendar server, therefore, when using the Desktop client, the same information will be shown.
If you need additional information about this procedure, please open a TAR against the ProductID 1341.
Trusting this is to your complete satisfaction,

  • How can I change which computer taht is my main?

How can I change which computer that is my main without loosing all my APPS, all my music etc when I sync?
When I first used my iPhone i was on my work computer, but now I can't sync it on my home computer without loosing all data? That isn't a good design solution at all.
Is there any way to change the authentication from my work computer to my home?
There should really be a better way to solve this, instead of forcing alot of users to "Choose" only 1 computer, I mean I believe many have maybe 2 or 3 computers that they want to use there iDevices on... Please help me!

  • Sort order in iCloud shared photo stream

I have an album of photos in iPhoto v9.5.1 which I want to share using the iCloud shared photo stream.  I've carefully sorted the photos in the album.  But when I create and send the invite for the shared photo stream, it automatically re-orders the photos by date and greys out in the menu all other sorting orders.  In other words it entirely ignores the work I put into creating the sort order.
    Is there a fix?

please apple tell me what I have to pay for that a better solution? I will do it!   Photostream makes sense only with possibilties to sort the photos inside a stream! and to sort the streams !! you did such a great job with icloud and photo stream - but it is not finished!!!!
    Thanks a lot in advance!
You are trying to use Shared Photo Streams as shared Photo albums or slideshows, but they are intended as communication channels, not as online albums.  If you treat them as streams, as they are intended to be used, it makes perfectly sense, that the images appear in the order they have been added.  Drop a photo into the stream, your friend will send a different photo back, etc. Any other sort order would make the streaming cumbersome, when the stream gets long. You will want to see the most recently added photo at the head of the stream, to see immediately what is new.  iPhoto on iOS device has web journals and slideshows to share online with friends, but in iPhoto on a Mac these are still missing.
I'd like to encourage you to send feedback about the usuability to the developers. After all, right now the iCloud drive and the new Photos.app for storing photos in the cloud is under developement. Since nothing at all has been announced yet how this feature will integrate with iPhoto and Aperture on a Mac, feedback will be very useful.

  • HT201317 What happens to photos stored after 30 days on icloud?

What happens to photos stored after 30 days on icloud?

Photos are deleted from PhotoStream in the cloud after 30 days, regardless of the number of photos stored there.
Once synced to your device, they will remain there indefinitely until you hit 1000 photos in the PhotoStream album on the phone, at which point the oldest photos will be deleted and newer photos will replace them.
