Can I clear the app update tally without updating?
Say I'm happy with an app. Say an update is available but will add ads (or other unwanted twists). Say I don't want to update the app. Is there any way to indicate that I'm 'not interested' so the tally doesn't keep pushing it at me?
No.

I have a iphone4. I can not clear the apps at the bottom of the screen?
Along with what Tidbits has stated, there are som apps which cannot be deleted or even disabled(and hidden) as you can do on an android device. The best you would be able to do is place them all in a folder together and ignore them.

In the middle of downloading an update for garage band and lost the connection, now the app won't open or finish the download. Can I reinstall the app without losing my music?
The obvious way to resolve this on a computer would be to uninstall the app, then reinstall it, however on an iOS device that would cause all the data assoicated with the app to be thrown away.
Make sure your iTunes library has the latest updates for all your apps, then backup and restore the device. This should pull back a fresh copy of the app from your iTunes library and then give it the data from your device backup.

I have a second generation iPad and can't clear the items in my update list. Is there a way to do this. I select them and it just says iS05 required
There is no way to clear the update notifications - unless you delete the apps completely from the iPad and from iTunes on your computer.
Obviously you want to continue to use the apps, so you either have to update the iPad and get the newer versions - or just ignore the update notifications. They will not go away. -
I have some problems to get the App Store on my mac. Every time when I do a Software Update, there is no App Store to download.
How can I get the App Store on my Mac?
It's because I want to set OSX Lion on my MacbookPro.
Thanks!
SmettSkyAs you have 10.5.8 you need to upgrade to at least 10.6.6 to get the App Store as this was the 1st version it came with.
A workaround is to get a friend who has 10.6.6 or better to download Lion for you without installing it. You can create an App Store account on the friend's computer I think to do this. Copy the Lion installer from that computer to a USB stick or burn it to DVD and you should be able to install it on your own computer, I think. You might have to create an empty partition on your own computer first for Lion installation as I'm not sure that it will install over Leopard. -
Halfway through the OS X Yosemite update it says I am not connected to the internet (when I know I am because I can search through the app store). How can I fix this? I cannot get on Safari because it requires an update to Mac OS X 10.9 or later.
Just to be clear. You have downloaded the Yosemite installer. However you say while it's updating you get the error you are not online. This is confusing since you shouldn't be able to use your computer in the process of updating.
Exactly where do you see you need to 10.9 to get on Safari? -
i accidentally deleted iPhoto on my mac and it says the the app was downloaded with a different apple id and now i can't get the app back without paying $14.99
Did you install it yourself are somebody else for you?
If you installed them yourself, but do not remember which AppleID you used, try all AppleIDs you might have used in turn.
If somene else set up your Mac for you, ask the person to reinstall it. If you bought the mac second hand, the previous owner needs to contact Apple to transfer the iLife apps. If that is not possible, delete the apps that you cannot update and buy them using your AppleID. -
How can I delete the apps I don't want to update, from the App Store Notification list?
The number of apps, waiting to be updated is growing, and growing! I want that number to go away. I am not going to update the ones I don't want.
How can I clear the list, so I only see the number of ones I have not looked at - the new notifications? You can't clear the notifications unless you udate the apps. There is nothing that you can do about it - unless you delete every trace of those apps everywhere - in iTunes, your iPad, all iDevices .... and I still don't think that totally eliminates the updates. If you download an App and it is tied to your ID, the notifications will appear somewhere - maybe not on the iPad - but in iTunes at least.

How can I clear the "Purchased" apps?
How can I clear the "Purchased" apps list from the "Not on This Iphone" list of the Updates section of the App Store on my Iphone 4?
There is no clear function. If I Erase All Content and Settings in General Settings will that do it? It'd be nice not to have to do that and erase all my data and media.Nick, you had the right idea. Success! I changed my email address on my Apple ID. Then went to my Iphone and under Settings, iTunes & App Stores, press on AppleID: (I.D.inserted), Sign Out, Create New Apple ID. Used the original Apple ID email address to create a "new" Apple ID, going through the whole set up process again, including billing info. Then, when opening the App Store app there are no Purchased apps to display, because there are none on this "new" account. The old account still exists in Apple cyberspace, but it is not tied to my iPhone or iTunes anymore. There does not appear to be any way to delete an Apple ID. Maybe after a few centuries Apple will discard it. Maybe not.

My iCloud is full and I don't want to buy more storage. Can I clear my current cloud and then update without losing anything on my phone?
This article provides some suggestions: Managing your iCloud storage. In addition to what's mentioned there, deleting photos and videos attached to your text messages may significantly reduce the size of your iCloud backup and the storage it occupies.

I have always paid for apps with a credit card and now need to use an app store card but I can't get past the point where it keeps wanting my credit card updated. And can't used the app card number. Any advice???
I do NOT like using my credit card if I don't have to, and I went out of my way to go buy an Apple gift card, which I successfully redeemed into my Apple account. However, when I use the Apple "Cards" app, it will not let me use anything other than my credit card. I tried purchasing a card, hopefulling it would come out of my Apple store balance, but no such luck -- it came out of my credit card.

I deleted all my photos and videos and then delete the deleted files but the photo app is still taking up 12 GB of space and I have no room for new stuff. How can I clear the memory space used by my deleted videos and photos? I don't know why the photos are still taking up space and if I will have to reset my phone to get rid of the problem.
