can I combine .pdf with basic subscription?

There is no "basic" or "full" subscription; there are different subscription plans like ExportPDF, PDF Pack, and other services.  See https://www.acrobat.com/
To combine PDF files you need the PDF Pack.

  • Can't open pdfs with Adobe Acrobat X

I can't open pdfs with Adobe Acrobat X. I get this message:
Warning: Distiller will not process .Log, .PDF or .JDF file extensions
What do I need to do to be able to open .pdf files? I could open them previously.

What are you getting the message in response to? Was this a creation of a PDF that resulted in the message? What are you using Distiller for? Distiller can only open PS and EPS files for processing to create a PDF.
PDF files are opened in Acrobat. For opening PDFs, Distiller has nothing to do with the opening. So I really have no idea. It sounds like you may just be having a creation error since you mentioned a log file. If you were creating a PDF, have you checked the LOG file for the errors? The log file is usually located where you were going to create the PDF, but is created as Distiller processes the file (part of the general Acrobat creation process) and is deleted if successful.
If you were trying to create, go back to the original application and print to file with the Adobe PDF printer. Then open that file in Distiller to create a PDF. Any errors will be shown in the window and an indication if the PDF was created or not.

  • Why i can't create PDF with right format by LiveCycle?

    Hello,
As we know that PDF format has four sections, the header, object body, cross-reference table and trailer.
But after I create a PDF by Adobe LiveCycle, and open it by UltraEdit or Notepad, I cannot find the cross-reference table and some objects, “trailer” word either .
I try to download several PDF files by follow link:
    https://my.adobeconnect.com/_a295153/p10077996/?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode=norm al ,
and open them as the same way as before, it was the normal format I learn.
So, why my PDF is not the right format? And how can I create PDF with right format?
    Thank you a lot!
    Ellie

Adobe LiveCycle Designer makes XFA forms - a thin PDF wrapper around XML, no useful PDF page objects. Still, they are valid PDF. Like any PDF, you might not find a trailer or xref if a cross reference stream is used. See ISO 3200-1 7.5.8 "Cross-Reference Streams".

  • Can't combine PDFs in Preview 7.0

I just upgraded to Mavericks last night, and now I'm having an issue with Preview -- I can't use it to combine two PDF documents.
The help section says to open the documents you want to combine and set both to thumbnail view, then drag the thumbnail of one doc on top of the thumbnail for the other doc and release it when a green "+" symbol appears.  This method worked fine in Mountain Lion, and I used it regularly.  Now, the green "+" symbol doesn't appear, and I can't combine the documents.
Is anyone else having this problem?  Does anyone know how to fix it?  Or is it an error that Apple needs to patch?

    Cosman wrote:
The problem is it doesn't work.  When I try to combine individual files and drag one over the other, there is no [+] sign.  There is no line under the first file.
When I start with a multipage file, it works.  I can drag a single page onto the multiple file and get the [+] sign, etc.
I spent 1/2 hour fighting with Preview with 5 individual files and nothing worked.
Would love to read a step by step description of making individual files combine.
Technical writing is harder than it sounds, eh? What exactly do you mean by the terms "individual files", "first file", and "multiple file"?
Preview can open multiple PDF files at once. Each PDF file may have multiple pages. How do you represent that? Preview uses a disclosure triangle. If you want to manipulate individual pages, you must expand a multipage PDF file. If you are working with a single-page PDF file, there is no disclosure triangle because there is no additional data to disclose. In this case, you can add a page just by dragging another page on top of the single page PDF.
If you try that with a multipage PDF, it will just expand the PDF and open the dropped page or file as a separate file. This is probably where you are getting tripped up.
Finally, the preview sidebar is not the end-all and be-all of PDFs. Try using the Contact Sheet view instead.

  • Zathura can't render pdf with mupdf backend

After the update to zathura 0.2.4-1 I can't longer view pdf with zathura and mupdf backend, I get the following error
error: could not load plugin /usr/lib/zathura/pdf.so (/usr/lib/zathura/pdf.so: undefined symbol: opj_stream_destroy)
    error: unknown file type
    the poppler backend works fine.

It appears that it was built linked against libraries that have since been changed. zathura 0.2.5-1 won't build at all anymore. Definitely a candidate for a bug report.
    **EDIT**
It will build if mupdf doesn't have it's static libs stripped, but it does not solve the issue:
error: could not load plugin /usr/lib/zathura/pdf.so (/usr/lib/zathura/pdf.so: undefined symbol: opj_stream_destroy)
which I believe is part of openjpeg.
I posted in the zathura thread as mlq is active in the forums:

  • Can't link PDF with my acrobat.exe

Now I've installed the Acrobat X pro in my laptop (Windows 7 Pro x64).
After I installed the program, the PDF file is not automatically opened by acrobat.exe  ( I didn't install the free reader version).
If I open the acrobat.exe first, I can read the PDF file by opening the file from the program. But if I didn't open the program (acrobat.exe) first, I can not open the pdf file at all.  Every time I double click the pdf file, it ask me to choose a program to open, and I can not even choose acrobat.exe from there.
Don't know what's going wrong here.
PS: I tried to install the free reader version, and then pdf file can be automatically opened by the reader, but not the acrobat.

  • Can't open PDFs with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

I downloaded AR DC and cannot open PDFs while using Google Chrome.  I get a message that I have to accept the end user license but I can't find it.  If I switch to Firefox I can open the same PDF without a problem.  I am on MacBook Air Yosemite 10.10.3

Chrome uses its own, built-in (and buggy) PDF viewer.

  • Combine PDFs with a script

I want to create a script, either AppleScript or JavaScript, that automatically combines all PDFs that are open in Acrobat Pro, then saves and closes the new binder. I'd also like to specify location of the saved binder.
If that is possible, it may be possible to do it without opening any PDFs, just specifying which files to combine. That would save time not having to open any PDFs

Consider using an external script, especially since I don't know how you'd do this with batch processing (aka Action) within Acrobat. For example, a VBScript/JScript could loop through the files in a directory, determine which files need to be combined, and use IAC (InterApplication Communications) with Acrobat to do the combining. Then save each new file to the appropriate directory. For more information on IAC, download the Acrobat SDK. There is an Acrobat SDK forum here where you can ask more questions.

  • Can i combine pdf, word and powerpoint into 1 pdf, and add page number?

hi, i've been tasked to create a proposal combining these document types into 1 pdf. does anyone know if i can add page number as well, before i pay for subscription?
    thank you!!

    Hi,
Combine Files tool in PDF Pack can combine multiple files into a single PDF file, but adding page number to each page of the single PDF file has be done in Adobe Acrobat.
You can subscribe to Acrobat Plus or download Acrobat XI Pro trial version  from www.adobe.com.  Please see more information about Acrobat Plus subscription at https://www.acrobat.com/acrobatplus/en/home.html?trackingid=JPZKR.
How to add page number in PDF file using Acrobat XI Pro:
    1. Open a PDF file
    2. Select "Tools" from top right corner
    3. Select "Pages" tab
    4. Select "Header & Footer"
    5. Select "Add Header & Footer" from pull down menu
    6. Select location for page number then click "Insert Page Number" button
    7. Click "OK" button

  • Have an iTunes account w/email addr I no longer have access to... how in the world can i combine that with my new Apple account

I have had an iPod Nano for several years and had an iTunes account.  I no longer have access to the email address connected to that account.  I just bought an iPhone4s and set up a new account with my current email address as user id.  How can i get these 2 accounts combined so I can sync music from my iPod to my iPhone?

You cannot combine accounts at all.
Why did you create a new one?
Just change the e-mail address associated with the old one.

  • Can't Made PDF with Acrobat 9

I just recently installed Acrobat 9 with the CS4 suite and can't make a PDF from either my scanner or MS Word. It says that my scanner can't do "Presets" and I don't see how I can change that. And Acrobat just tries for about ten minutes to make a PDF from a Word document and then says there's an error.
I'm about ready to reinstall Acrobat 6 so I can make PDF's - this is crazy. Is there a way that I can get Acrobat 9 to at least accept my scanner? It's an older HP 4-in-1 machine.

In terms of printing to the Adobe PDF printer, try to delete the pdf
printer you have and then fix the installation in Acrobat.
As far as scanner support. That is totally dependent on the driver.
Adobe seems to be moving to a model which removes all scanner support.
Scanners provide software to do their scanning and Acrobat and Photoshop
will import the resulting files. This is what always happened previously
with the interface supported by twain drivers, when there is a problem
with the twain driver, Adobe gets faulted. The easiest way to avoid the
problem is to scan separately. One more step for the user, but in the
end fewer problems for Adobe and the user.

  • I can't sign PDFs with images

    Hello everyone,
I'm on a Mac OSX 10.8.5 and I am trying to follow these instructions: AMS Financial Aid Forms by Rachael Arestad on Prezi using Adobe Reader 11.0.10. However, there are a couple problems that come up.
    1) I can't print the PDF as a PDF like the tutorial wants me to, I can only save. Why it wants me to print as PDF is beyond me.
    2) If I try to add an image as a signature, Reader tells me to save a copy. Okay so I click save a copy, and I try again... and it tells me to save another copy! (ad infinitum)
What's happening here? Sorry if I come off as snarky, but this is a surreal and frustrating problem.

The author of the piece was, frankly, misinformed.
    1. They say use Adobe Acrobat Reader. It hasn't been called that in over 10 years. It's Adobe Reader now. But this isn't important. But I mention it because the names of products are critical here.
    2. They say to use the "Adobe PDF" printer. But this is not and never has been part of the free Adobe Reader. It is included in the product Adobe Acrobat ($$).
    3. This option is no longer available on Mac OS even if you buy Acrobat.
Now, the save a copy thing. If you save a copy, you must save with a new name. THEN you must close the document you are working on and OPEN THE COPY.

  • I can't open pdf with adobe reader

I had to download Adobe reader to open a PDF.
Now I can't open the PDF and get a message that I must accept Adobe conditions forst which I did when installing it.
I notice that it is a problem across different platforms all with Adobe reader.
    Any solutions?
    Thanks

Open a Finder window then from the menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
    Click Go.
If you see the:  AdobePDFViewer plugin in the Internet Plug-Ins folder, move it to the trash.
Restart your Mac and try opening a PDF file.
