an how can i config no env files like these: __db.001 ... __db.005
I have a env not created by me, that env does not have those __db.001....__db.005 files,
how to config env like that?
thanks alot.

Hello,
What platform/version are you on?
The logging subsystem and related methods are documented at:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_reference/C/lsn.html
I do not know of a method to change the log file name. Perhaps someone else might.
As the for __db.00X environment region files, these represent shared memory
regions which by default are created as files in the environment's home
directory. The region files can be configured to reside in-memory which is perhaps
why you are not seeing them. The following documentation provides additional
details:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/gsg_txn/C/enabletxn.html#environments
Thanks,
Sandra

  • Question regarding a 95 G config/log file: LabView_32_11.0_Lab.Admin_cur.txt

    Hi Everyone,
    One of our lab computers running Labview was reported to be running out of storage and I was asked to figure out why. I rifled through some windows folders to find the culprit, specifically folder: c:\users\Lab.Admin\AppData\Local\Temp wherein I found a 95 G file entitled LabView_32_11.0_Lab.Admin_cur.txt I did note that the Lab.Admin is the user name and is also included in the filename so I'm assuming this is some sort of config/log file for the current user.
    The file was too large for me to open and look at with any program I had available so I just renamed it, re-started Labview to verify that it would be recreated an then deleted the bloated file. The newly created file has the following inside of itt:
    #Date: Wed, Jun 13, 2012 2:49:00 PM
    #OSName: Windows 7 Professional
    #OSVers: 6.1
    #OSBuild: 7600
    #AppName: LabVIEW
    #Version: 11.0 32-bit
    #AppKind: FDS
    #AppModDate: 06/22/2011 18:12 GMT
    #LabVIEW Base Address: 0x00400000
    Can anyone tell me the purpose of this file and what might have caused it to grow to 95 G. I'm just interested in learning how to prevent this from happening again.
    Cheers,
    Alex

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yes it is, or rather was, a 95 Gb text file.
    I suspect you are correct that it is a crash dump/error log file. It makes sense as this computer has been running a test station for the past year that has been reported as less than stable. I'll keep an eye on that file over the next few days to see if anything is added to it while the station is running.
    Thanks for the suggestions,
    Alex

  • Any software/program that can read audit log files

    Hi,
    Currently i am searching for a program/tools that can read audit log files and format it into a readable format. Anyone know is there any in the market or any open source program?
    Thank You.

    Not sure what you mean by "audit log".
    Anyway. Pete Finnigan's tools page has only one thing that might be what you're looking for - LMON, which runs on BSD, Solaris, Linux. As he's the go-to guy for Oracle security the chances of there being a good free log analyzer tool that he hasn't heard of is slight.

    Muse only supports .html as a page extension at this time.

  • Can we put log file into comman storage

    Hi all,
    IN RAC mode database we put our archive log files into comman storage either it may be SAN or NAS,but my question is that can we put log files to in common storage, if not why is it so.thanks a lot in advance.

    you can use common storage or local disks to store Archive Log Files
    But Oracle need archive log locations to share on every nodes to helpful about backup + recovery from archivelog files.
    In a RAC environment, each instance maintains its own set of archived redo logs. These may either be located on local file systems on each node or in a shared file system that can be accessed by all nodes. While space considerations may dictate that archived redo logs be stored on local file systems, Recommend that you attempt to locate these files on a shared file system. That is because it may be necessary to restore these files and a remote node may be performing the restore.
    If your architecture or budget forces you to use local file systems, Recommend that you employ a completely symmetrical configuration and ensure that all nodes can access each archived redo log location over NFS or a similar protocol.Edited by: Surachart Opun (HunterX) on Jul 11, 2009 8:15 PM

  • Can you add new file extensions to be treated as C source?

    Hi, using Sun Studio 9, is it possible to add a new file extension to those treated as C sources? I can see how to do it for header files (Options -> IDE Configuration -> System -> Object Types -> C and C++ Header Data Objects -> Extensions and MIME types) but this option is not available for C files.
    In case anyone's wondering why you'd want to do this: we use .pc extensions for C files containing embedded SQL statements. It's then pretty simple to make a .pc.c rule in makefiles to run the pre-compiler.

    >What do you mean Sandee?<br /><br />Robert,<br /><br />Sandee's comment did come across as a bit strong, eh. InDesign is better than Quark  for the most part. (Hey,even Quark has it's good points. <g>) But they are different and preconceptions of how to do certain things can hinder a user from using the program to it's best advantage. This goes both ways, but long time Quark users will almost certainly have developed some bad habits that should be broken if using InDesign. [check out theInDesigner.com podcasts. the first few are audio only but the first one in particular deals with this idea, and others reinforce it with specifics.]<br /><br />Your concern about Quark Project files does not fit into this catagory though. You will not find a comparable feature in ID. But I don't think you'll miss it as much as you think.<br /><br />I can't answer your questions about Bridge and Version Cue. I have no experience with them. [there are videocasts on Adobe TV that may give you an idea of how useful Bridge can be. Cafe Fibonacci Ep1, touches on it, Lazy Designer has a couple of episodes that show some not so obvious features.] Essentially Bridge is a common repository for all your files, and that can include your colleagues. But it's more than a way to catalogue and codify your files, you can access the rest of the suite from Bridge, you can even access specific functions of the other applications directly within Bridge.<br /><br />Version Cue manages projects. It keeps track of who did what to where and what version is current. It also allows you to submit different versions for consideration and revert specific items of your layout to previous versions  or is that Bridge? Hopefully someone with a better grasp of Bridge and Version Cue will come to your rescue. But it's obvious that there is a lot of work group functionality built in to CS.

  • Adobe pdf printer can't open log file

    I am trying to print an Id cs6 file to a pdf file.
    During the printing process, the progress indicator indicates it prints a book file to about page 23 (of 293) then I get an error message that says acrobat can't open the xxx.log file.
    The printing progress indicator continues to indicate a file is being printed, but no file opens in acrobat at completion.
    I expect the program to ask me to name the output, and then to want comfirmation, in this case, to replace the existing file.
    This process worked until last night.  I was trying to make a PDF to upload to create space.  The file create space got has photos and images with too low resolution.  Not sure why that's happening either.  I think Adobe is printing screen resolution images.  I went into the adobe presets in the file drop down menu to try to increase resolution, and since, have been unable to print.  I probably did not fix the image resolution problem either.
    THe error message likely involves a conflict between two parts of the program.  It's not accurate at face value.  Any suggestions to fix it?
    Thanks
    Roy

    I have displayed the captures of the screens that I got to when I looked at the printer properties for the Adobe PDF printer. I am looking at the properties in AA8 and there is a chance they are different in AA9.

  • How can I write log file???

    Hi every body.
    I have a project built by ADF BC. I want that when user performs INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE,... into DB from client tier in some form, before performing those queries I will get the user information (who login the system) and write out a log file about that user from that information in each entity influenced by the user.
    How can I do this???

    I understand what you mean from your link. But the question I meant is not that. What I meant is that, I can get the user information (user_name,password,...) who performs the queries to DB and write those information to log file.
    Thanks.

  • Can't DPV, log file error

    I keep getting:
    Err no - 7091, DPV and LACSLink Required Parameter. THe Log File Directory must be writable when either DPV or LACSLink is enabled.
    I am running Windows 7 64-bit. Initially at install the auto updates didn't work. I got that fixed but now I get this.
    Has anyone run into this issue before? I set security on all postalsoft folders to allow all for all groups. I don't think SAP supports windows 7 yet.

    Alex,
    This information can be found in our knowledge base...
    Install the most current version of software again with Full Administrator Rights and make sure there are full read and write permissions to the C:\Postalsoft installation directory.
    OR
    Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Postalsoft. Create a new directory "folder" under Postalsoft called ACE. Then create a new folder under ACE called Log. The path would be C:\Postalsoft\ACE\Log.
    The directory tree would then look like this:
    + Local Disk (C):
    + Postalsoft
    + ACE
    + Log
    If your Postalsoft program is installed elsewhere, make sure you create this ACE\Log path under Postalsoft.
    For future reference you may want to check the knowledge base first... hopefully this will save you some time and trouble.  To get to the knowledge base go to https://service.sap.com/bosap-support - click on the link that says "Search the knowledge base of known issues: SAP Notes".  Then you can type in the error or phrase you are looking for information on.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks,

  • Can't create log file with java.util.logging

    Hi,
    I have created a class to create a log file with java.util.logging
    This class works correctly as standalone (without jdev/weblogic)
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.text.DateFormat;
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    import java.util.Date;
    import java.util.logging.*;
    public class LogDemo
         private static final Logger logger = Logger.getLogger( "Logging" );
         public static void main( String[] args ) throws IOException
             Date date = new Date();
             DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyyMMdd");
             String dateStr = dateFormat.format(date);
             String logFileName = dateStr + "SEC" + ".log";
             Handler fh;
             try
               fh = new FileHandler(logFileName);
               //fh.setFormatter(new XMLFormatter());
               fh.setFormatter(new SimpleFormatter());
               logger.addHandler(fh);
               logger.setLevel(Level.ALL);
               logger.log(Level.INFO, "Initialization log");
               // force a bug
               ((Object)null).toString();
             catch (IOException e)
                  logger.log( Level.WARNING, e.getMessage(), e );
             catch (Exception e)
                  logger.log( Level.WARNING, "Exception", e);
    }But when I use this class...
    import java.io.File;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.text.DateFormat;
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    import java.util.Date;
    import java.util.logging.FileHandler;
    import java.util.logging.Handler;
    import java.util.logging.Level;
    import java.util.logging.Logger;
    import java.util.logging.XMLFormatter;
    public class TraceUtils
      public static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("log");
      public static void initLogger(String ApplicationName) {
        Date date = new Date();
        DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyyMMdd");
        String dateStr = dateFormat.format(date);
        String logFileName = dateStr + ApplicationName + ".log";
        Handler fh;
        try
          fh = new FileHandler(logFileName);
          fh.setFormatter(new XMLFormatter());
          logger.addHandler(fh);
          logger.setLevel(Level.ALL);
          logger.log(Level.INFO, "Initialization log");
        catch (IOException e)
          System.out.println(e.getMessage());
    }and I call it in a backingBean, I have the message in console but the log file is not created.
    TraceUtils.initLogger("SEC");why?
    Thanks for your help.

    I have uncommented this line in logging.properties and it works.
    # To also add the FileHandler, use the following line instead.
    handlers= java.util.logging.FileHandler, java.util.logging.ConsoleHandlerBut I have another problem:
    jdev ignore the parameters of the FileHandler method .
    And it creates a general log file with anothers log files created each time I call the method logp.
    So I play with these parameters
    fh = new FileHandler(logFileName,true);
    fh = new FileHandler(logFileName,0,1,true);
    fh = new FileHandler(logFileName,10000000,1,true);without succes.
    I want only one log file, how to do that?

  • With Mac OS X can the system.log files be safely deleted?

    I just did a search of my HD using OmniDiskSweeper, and there's a file called system.log that's 8GB The path is /private/var/log/system.log Can this file be deleted without any bad effects? Wouldn't the system just create a new one when needed? I opened the file in Console, looked at some of it, and as far as I can tell I would think it's okay to delete, but I'd like to be sure before I do it. Thanks!

    I also just found a new file was created-- /private/var/tmp/tmp.1.UhmvZp after I looked in the console and had to force quit. That one is 3.3GB. Any of these files can be deleted? I know not to delete the sleepimage file, which just created another 1GB swapfile and is up to 4GB.
    In September I brought my Macbook to an Apple genius because I was loosing so much HD space without downloading or installing anything. He told me to reinstall the OS and it did help recover some space. Now I know where that HD space is going!

  • Can't read log files from /var/log with Geany

    With the few exeptions like hibernate.log, I can't read most of those files, including:
    everything.log
    errors.log
    kernel.log
    messages.log
    syslog.log
    When I try to open them (as root), all I get is
    The file xxx.log does not look like a text file or the file encoding is not supported.
    However, they do open with nano

    If you want to only view the files (I assume this since those are logs), maybe try
    $ less -M <file>
    You can navigate pretty well with it (e.g. go to a specific line).
    Edit:
    You could also try to find if there is an option in Geany that would allow you to see "non-text" files.

  • Where can I find log files for users logging into network homes?

    We're running an open directory master and are using AFP on another server to host our network homes.  I was asked to find a log of users logged into their network homes on a specific date and I'm starting to wonder if that's actually a log that exists.  I've checked the OD logs and in one of the password logs I can see users have authenticated but it doesn't say specifically to what (so it just lists they logged into something).  The AFP logs just show specific files being accessed without usernames.  So what am I missing?  What log would I check?
    Thanks for your help!!

    File Zilla is a dedicated ftp client that you use to upload your published web site to your server.
    I would suggest that you perhaps consider using Cyberduck instead as this might be easier.  Cyberduck is a dedicated ftp client in the same way that File Zilla is.
    To be able to upload what you need is your published website.  Open iWeb and select the site that you want to publish and then select publish to a local folder and your site will then be published to your desktop.  You then upload this to your server using Cyberduck or File Zilla.
