Can I connect my Thunderbolt Display to a gen4 iPad?

iPad has the lightening connector not 30-pin.
Thank you!

You cannot directly connect an iPad, iPod or an iPhone to a Thunderbolt or Cinema Display but what you can do is install a piece of software on your mac called reflector (reflector is free but to have unlimted time with it you have to buy it).
You can find the download page and more information here: http://www.airsquirrels.com/reflector/
(If you cannot click on this link copy paste it in your internety browser)

  • Can I connect my thunderbolt display's power cable to supply power to the new retina display macbook pro?

I'm planning to buy a new retina display macbook pro, but I have a thunderbolt display and I use the display's power cable to supply the power to a macbook air. As the power connector on the new macbook pro is differet, It looks to me that I won't be able to connect it to the new computer. I'm I correct?

You'll just need this adapter, which you can buy or order with the computer:

  • Can i connect apple thunderbolt display to an windows base pc

is it possible to connect thuynderbolt display to windows base pc throu dvi or hdmi???

No. No PCs have Thunderbolt Ports- It is exclusively avaliable on a Mac. Plus Converters have not yet been invented. Even is they were, you would not get the 10GB per second. Suggest getting either the Apple Cinema Diaplay or getting a "Made For Windows" Display.

  • Is there a way to connect a Thunderbolt Display to a PC running Windows 7?

    Thanks,

Not unless the notebook has a Thunderbolt port (unlikely).

I tightened all HD screws and it didn't help. With the machine running and side of the case off, I physically stopped both the video card fan and the front case fan with my finger for a couple seconds and the noise continued. I also took all hard drives out one by one and rebooted each time. Again, the noise continued until I took out the Mac HD in Bay 1, rebooted, and I had a very quiet, silent machine. The issue is the hard drive in bay 1 that shipped with the computer, it's without a doubt causing the hum/woosh sound. I still need to know if I can safely swap the Mac HD from bay 1 to bay 4 without any issues to the operating system. I would like to try that to see if it dampens the noise but I also want to make sure this swap won't screw up my machine at all.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Of course. As both have Thunderbolt, it's as simple as buying a Thunderbolt cable, connect them and press Command and F2 keys on the iMac, so the iMac will be used as an external display for the MacBook Air. If you want more information, see > http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11302

  • Can I use my Thunderbolt Display with my PS3?

Hi there, I have recently purchased a Thunderbolt Display and I was wondering if I could use it with my PS3. I know I'll need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, but will I need anything else like a converter or can I plug it straight in?
    Thanks

A Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter can connect a HDMI display to a Thunderbolt port.  It does not work in the other direction.  If the PS3 has no Thunderbolt port, you can't use a Thunderbolt display.  There are no adapters or converters that can help.

  • Loss 3D graphics and can't connect to external display with NVIDIA card

I note this morning that the graphics in 3D mode of iWork (version 4.1 with system 10.6.8) no longer appears in all software suite. The 2D graphics are displayed perfectly. I also notice I can't connect an external display when I am on NVIDIA card but work well with Intel card.
The 3D graphics are printed but not displayed on the screen (it also appear inthe thumbnail). It seems to be a worry to display.
I posted two screen images showing the problem of 3D in Pages.

how can I connect two thunderbolt monitors to my macmini in windows 8 and bootcamp? Works fine in OSX

Did you try to hook up both monitors to the Belkin adaptor? Trying will determine if your monitor has a bad input port. See if the Belkin adaptor is the problem. I have never used that specific adaptor, but I have always had luck with the Dr. Bott's DVI for ADC adaptor. Best of luck.

  • Can you marry a thunderbolt display to a early 2008 mac pro?

can  you marry a thunderbolt display to an early 2008 mac pro?

You will need a DUAL-LINK DVI cable for that display.
    <http://www.amazon.com/DVI-D-Male-Dual-Link-Cable/dp/B003QNDEGA>
Your video card is designed to run two 30" displays, but is getting old.  Cards that age do fail due to bad capacitors, bad solder, of stuck fans.
