Can I control fades with connected music clips?

Hi, FCP X newbie here.
I would like join two music clips into a Connected Storyline, while ALSO being able to control the fades myself (presumably by the use of handles) but I can't find a way. It seems the only choices I have are to either 1.) Connect the clips, then add a Crossfade Transition, and chose from the 4 preset Fade types (Level, S, +/- 3db) for the ingoing and outgoing clips, OR 2.) keep the audio clips disconnected but overlapping, and adjust the handles myself.
The reason I want the audio clips connected with each other and not just attached to the Primary Storyline is that I want to create a solid music bed (consisting of various changing music cues) and be able to change video on top of it at will, without having to worry about audio clips accidentally being displaced when I move change a shot it is connected to. (Complications of the magnetic timeline, a bit frustrating to my track-based mindset.) The reason I want to control the fades myself is that, in this case, the incoming music piece needs to start with the level full up (and also has precious little handle time), so all of the generic Fade types dampen the volume too much when applied.
Is what I want to do possible, or is there a solid workaround? Any help is much appreciated.

Ah, that does it. I did try to make a Compound Clip before but maybe the problem was I was trying to marry the incoming clip with an outgoing piece of a Connected Storyline but without selecting the full storyline. I tried it selecting the full storyline this time, success.
The one small misgiving I have about this solution it's harder to tell visually from the waveform where the music cues change, losing visual breaks and titles. Markers can help to differentiate the breaks though.

Adobe Flash Player is the only way to view them.

Controlling fades with Omnisphere??

I've got multi-timbral 8 tracks set up with Omnisphere. Is there a way I can control fades on individual instruments? Like, be able to set the automation for individual instruments?
If I try to do it in Logic, then any one instrument I adjust seems to affect all the other 8 instruments.
I remember doing this before somehow ... and have, in the interim, futzed some preference maybe?

In Logic, multi-timbral instruments are not handled so well, and what you are observing is the normal behaviour: the 'channel strips for each part are actually all controlling the same thing'.
There are (at least) 3 ways you could do this:
1
Open Omni in Multi-output mode, create additional Aux channels in the mixer. In Omni, route the parts to different outputs (A-H). Add these Aux channels to the Arrange (select in the mixer and choose Options:Create Arrange tracks....).
Automate the Aux channels.
2 Use the MIDI Learn function within Omni (see the Omni manual for info)

In Omni, choose 'Enable Host Automation", and then use Track Auto in Logic as normally.(see the Omni manual for info).
There are also handy videos on the Spectrasonics site that may help.

Does anyone know how I can remotely change the song on my iphone through my macbook? I link my iphone up to my music system and would really like to be able to change songs through my macbook.
I can use the Remote app to control my macbook through my iphone and really want an app that works the other way round.

How can I control media with ipad on xtreme usb hard drive

Trying to use usb hard drive off extreme via ipad and iphone as a media server to go on my boat. My aim is to have the express with hard drive to have all my movies and music on it and use ipad, powerbook and iphone to control this through apple tv to my 42 inch LCD tv.
I am pulling my hair out here. Have purchase new Xtreme and plugged in a usb hard drive and think I have set it up properly as I can see and mount the hard drive on my powerbook and play videos etc via wifi (also conected to the internet) . Also when I have the xtreme and drive mounted on my mac I can access and play the media on the xrpess server on ipad via app called quick explorer.
Problem is that it seems to be picking up the xpress usb drive via the powerbook as when I shut down my powerbook I can see the usb drive but it keeps on deniying me the permission even though the passwords are correct.
Does anyone know if there is a correct way of setting this up to work or if there is an app or does apple have a way for their standard players to pickup the usb drive and control the media via iphone or ipad.

Can't control iTunes with keyboard after 10.5 update?

Hi everyone.
I run Win7 Ultimate x64 and have a Microsoft Wireless Laser Keyboard 6000 v.2
The keyboard has a row of buttons along the very top to control media players; play/pause, skip between tracks, etc.
Up until I updated to iTunes 10.5, I was able to use those buttons to pause and skip between tracks in iTunes, but iTunes didn't have to be my active window - I could be, say, composing this post with iTunes playing, but minimized to the task bar, an hit a keyboard button to pause or skip forward.
I can no longer do that - I now have to actually go to the iTunes window in order to control it, or hold my mouse over iTunes in the task bar and I get a little back/forward/pause button that I can use to skip.
In any case, this is extremely annoying and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and if there are any workarounds.

For issues with third-party software (software not made by Apple in this case), that interacts with Apple software, I would recomend contacting the maker of that application.
Often with any application that controls another application, whether it is iTunes or anything else, when one is updated, the other needs to be updated as well.

Can Apple TV fade from one music title to the next?

Playing my mysic with iTunes I can set it to fade softly from one title to the next, without pausing between the tracks.
I can't find this setting in my new Apple TV and the Apple TV seems unaffected by my settings in my iTunes. How can I tell my Apple TV to behave like I want?

i would like to ask you about the graph with two inputs
Normally, if i just give one input, they generate the graph with this input(y) vs time(x).
But now i would like to get the graph with my two inputs in x axis and y axis .
i want to control both of two axis. How could i do for it ?
i attached the file that i try to use "Build XY graph" to control both x and y axis with random number .
It can run but i don't know how come the graph show nothing. .
Actually , it have to show something like wavefrom continuously. am i right?
Could you tell me a way to solve it ?

Double click on Build XY Graph, uncheck the clear data on each call
Picture 2 and 3:
Change your formula node into +1 Basic Function in Functions Pallette.

In Production order can i control GR with out GI

    in the production order the GR should not be done until atleast one component is cosumed as GI . can this be controlled using configuration.

     the GR should not happen untill all GI is done can this be controlled using standard configuration.

Hi Madan,
You can use use enhancement <b>MBCF0002</b> to control the goods movement.
Use this & in the include program you need to write a program, which will check if GMPS - goods movement posted status is activated in the order. Then only it will allow for GR.
Discuss with your ABAP team.

How can i make playlists with only music and no videos?

I would love to be able to make a playlist that only has music so I can figure out exactly how much I have in there and also be able to put it on my older iPod.

Create a Smart playlist with the rule:
Kind>contains>audio file
Check the box "Live Updating"

Can I create playlist with only music currently on my macbook drive?

I have music on my macbook as well as on an external drive. I don't want to fill up my internal drive with all my music.
It's frustrating though when I open itunes while away from home and try to play music. Chances are I'll try to play something that is inevitably not on the computer. What I'd like to do is create something like a playlist or something that is directed to my internal music folder that I can reference when disconnected from the external drive so that everything listed is definitely available to play.
Is this possible? I've tried playing around with smart playlists etc but so far no luck.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

How can I overwrite iTunes with the music on my iPhone 4?

I turned on home sharing in iTunes, to share purchases with my hubby. Now my iTunes is completely f*****!!! My iPhone (iPhone 4, now used solely as an iPod), is as I would like iTunes to be but for the life of me, I cannot find a reasonable, SIMPLE way to overwrite iTunes and I do NOT want to spend hours and hours sorting through, re-importing my now useless and completely frustrating iTunes library!!! I haven't really played with home sharing, but you may be able to sort the songs list on Date Added and find you can easily select and remove the unwanted content.
Alternatively see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

IPod Shuffle 3rd Gen fully charged, blinks orange five times and I can't control it with the remote (I used 3 different remotes), volume is low and is iPod is unresponsive... any ideas on how to fix it?

The iPod was working fine, then after about 45 minutes of use i looked as if battery drained.
I charged it fully again (until green light) and then turned it on, green light and then orange light blinks five times...
I can't play /pause, or turn volume up or down from the remote... tried with original Apple earphones, and two Bose MIE2i (original and sports models)...
Any ideas of what can be wrong? or how can I fix it?
Already tried restoring it to factory settings.... it didn't solved the problem...
