Can I convert a pdf slideshow with narrative to a movie file? Using Pro version 8

I am working with a template software (Vacation Bible School) where I insert pictures and at the end, it plays a slideshow with narrative (already in the template) when you open it up and hit the spacebar. it works fine, but there are 5 different files and the company we got the template/pdf files from suggest for presentation purposes, I should just open up each file individually and start the slide show. it seems kind of clumsy having to open up each file individually, play it, close it and then go to the next file. It would be great if I could capture the slideshow as a movie file, then combine all 5 movie files into one file that can be played on a CD player (I use Sony Vegas studio and Nero software for this). I am using Acrobat Pro version 8. Any suggestions?

It can't be done in Acrobat.
I just did a Google search on "pdf slideshow to video" and saw a couple of third party products that claim to be able to do it. I have never had a need for that, and can't claim how well they work.

There's two answers if you want to modify the file:
You can temporarily turn off PDF/A Mode in your preferences, so they don't open as read-only. The problem would be if you do something to the file that violated the PDF/A standard, so you should always run a Preflight check afterwards to make sure.
If you want to remove the PDF/A header tag, use Preflight again - it's on the Print Production Panel in Acrobat X Pro (which may be hidden, use the options menu on the Tools Pane to show it). There's a profile called "Remove PDF/A information" - choose this and press Analyze and Fix. Nothing else about the file will be altered but when you save and reopen it all the editing tools will become active.

Perhaps you want to submit an "ePub" to iTunes?
If so then revisit the authoring files for the manuscript and go to ePub from there.
Getting to ePub from PDF is really rather awkward.
Lotsa "use me", "use me" software that purports to solve this; but, really, it doesn't.
So, again - - authoring files to ePub.
One example: use Word and Calibre.
Might groom with Sigil.
Pipe out the finalized ePub to iTunes.
Do the Snoopy dance.

Try converting your PDF file to an Excel (.xlsx) file with the ExportPDF service. You can then use Excel to save that file as a .CSV file. ExportPDF does not output .csv

Reader cannot convert files to Word. There is an ExportPDF service with its own forum to help with issues to the service. However, converting files to Word is by its very nature an iffy proposition. How well it works depends upon the content of the file and how it was created.

Can't convert to pdf from word

my wife uses adobe acrobat 6.0 standard with office 2003. The problem is that she can't convert to pdf from word. it works fine with an excel doc. but not a word. I did update to 6.0.1 and still nothing. There is no error message and the word document opens but nothing happens.

I have exactly the same problem. Everything was ok untill a couple of months ago then after some auto updates the pdf buttons were no longer displayed in the word documents when it is open and if you try to convert it to pdf either by dragging the word file onto Adobe or highlighting the file and right clicking on it then selecting 'convert to Adobe PDF' it doesn't work. It looks like it attempts to do it by opening the word document but then nothing else happens. The only way I have been able to get it to convert to pdf is to go into the word document, click on file then print then select Adobe PDF then save to location. This is just a complete pain to do all the time especially when I need to convert a whole load of files in one go.
Obviously the auto updates have effected it somehow but I can't work out where.
I've tried uninstalling Adobe the re-installing it but it makes no difference.
I'm using Acrobat 6.0 Standard with Windows XP Professional 2002

If your files are this large, ExportPDF is the wrong tool for you. You need Adobe Acrobat, which runs locally and does not need to send your files to Adobe.

I have hit a point where I don't think my expertise is going to solve the problem. timing statements to get a rough idea of which parts

Creating a slideshow with narration

I'm wanting to make a slideshow with narration over it recorded from a digital recorder. It looks like there are different apps/options for doing this but I'm wondering what the best way to go about it is. I guess my main concern would be just making sure the narration lines up with the slides. I'm a newbie to dealing with photos on a mac so any info is greatly appreciated.

Are you planning to burn the slideshow to DVD or simply view it on your Mac? If the former, then I would recommend you build your slideshow in iMovie 6. (If your Mac came with iLife '08 then you can download iMovie 6 free from Apple. It has better control of the audio track than iMovie 7.) That way you can see how your audio track lines up with your photos. You can edit the audio track somewhat in iMovie 6 (fade in, fade out) and lock an audio clip to a particular spot in the video timeline, to keep them synced the way you want.
You can also use GarageBand to edit the audio track of an iMovie project. I haven't tried this so can't comment on the advantages of this over doing it all within iMovie 6.
Many people complain that when using iPhoto to match the timing of their iTunes playlist to the timing of the slideshow that after exporting to iDVD the timing is not retained. That's another reason to use iMovie - the relationship between the video and audio tracks will be retained when you import the movie into iDVD.

Check ON “Recognized text in” if your PDF file is scanned images to recognize the image to text

Click “Download” button in the progress bar after completion of exporting to download the file to your computer.
