    Hi Jennifer,
How to convert a PDF file to Word:
Open a file in Acrobat XI.
Choose Tools > Content Editing > Export File to Microsoft Word Document.
Click Settings to turn on optical character recognition (OCR) if your PDF contains scanned text.
Name the Word file and save it in a desired location.
Please let me know if you get any error following the above steps.
    Regards,

  • How do I open my pdf documents in word and not in adobe reader?

I have a Mac.  How do I set my computer so that my pdf documents open in word rather than in adobe reader?

If you opened a pdf document in Word, all you would see is a bunch of code so, it wouldn't help you.
Are you actually looking to "convert" a pdf document to a Word document so you can edit it?

  • Converting PDF document to Word

Why I can't converd a PDF document to Word?

    Good day Scott,
I received your document via our File Conversion Issue form.  The root of the problem you're facing is the quality of the scan.  I'm not sure if you were starting with a poor quality hard-copy or simply low DPI settings on your scanner, but the reason the results you received were so different than the PDF was the quality of the input.
If you're hard copy looks clearer than the PDF file you created, I would suggest increasing the resolution settings on your scanner.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,
    David

    Hi Nura,
Are you receiving that message for every file that you try to convert? Or is it specific to one file? Are you converting via the ExportPDF web interface, or via Adobe Reader?
Please tell us more about the file or files that you're trying to convert. How were they created? Are they complex (many pages, or mix of different fonts and graphics)?
    Best,
    Sara

  • Converting PDF Forms to Word and Then Back to PDF with Forms In Tact

    Hello,
We are currently having a heck of a time replacing some keywords in a collection of about a thousand PDF forms.  These forms were created in Word without any interactive functionality and then converted to PDF.  The simple form interactions were then added using Acrobat.
We figured out a way to replace all of the keywords by converting the PDF to Word, and then running a Visual Basic macro that does a Find and Replace on all of the documents at once.  Our problem is that we lose the functionality of the forms when we convert them to Word.  The docs have to be converted back to PDFs, and putting in all of the form interactivity in each file would take far longer than we have.
Is there a better way to go about this than we're attempting?
Is there a way to do these conversions and keep the interactive forms?
We essentially want the forms to behave exactly as they did, just with a few keywords changed.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

  • Can't convert .pdf file to Word

    Hi There
I'm trying to convert a PDF file which is 99MB in size to Word, and every time I try it tells me that "An error occurred while trying to acccess the service".
It does take about 15 to 20 mins to show this error.
It doesn't tell me anything else, and I can't find a way to get it to work.
I have also tried turning off the 'Disable Text Recognition' as described in another thread but the error was the same.
The PDF Producer is 4110 and the PDF Application is also 4110.
I also tried to upload the file to the location https://files.acrobat.com but it seems to get to the end but then the message says 'There are currently no files in Acrobat.com.
Please help me with this issue.
    Thanks,
    Hopster

    Hi There,
I have just tried the same tests from a different network but the results are the same.
Regardless of whether I turn off the option 'Disable Text Recognitiont or not I get the same error "An error occurred while trying to acccess the service".
Also when I tried to export it online I also get an error that there was an unexpected problem.
    Any other ideas?

  • Can't convert pdf document to excel

I tried to export a pdf document to Excel using the conversion process presented, but that didn't work at all. I then uploaded the document to my workspace but don't see any links that would convert the document there. How does this process work?

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • Unable to convert PDF files to any other file format using Acrobat XI Pro

    Acrobat XI Pro ver11.0.2
    Office 2013 Pro Plus
    Windows 8 Pro
When I open a PDF file and try to export file to: Word, RTF, Excel, XML or PowerPoint, I woud receive the error below.
Save As failed to process this document. No file was created.
I recall in the past that I was able to export PDF to Excel & Word.  I simply tried the other file formats to see what happens.
Unfortunately for me, this is happening to both of my machines.  Same version software except the other machine is Windows 7 Pro. I have admin level rights to both PCs.
Not sure what to do at this point.
As another test, I did the following.
Created a document in Word, then saved as a PDF file.  Opened that PDF file to save as a Word doc and I received the error listed above.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Thank you

    Thank you for the suggestions
"Created a document in Word, then saved as a PDF file.  Opened that PDF file to save as a Word doc and I received the error listed above".
I used another machine.  Created a Virtual Machine with Office 2013 and Acobat XI and I do not have issues with converting PDF to any of the available formats.  Its not the file I'm using, its the software itself that is the issue.
Unfortunately, I did uninstall Office 2013 & Acrobat XI then reinstalled but I still have the problem so I can only guess once its broken in the registry, I will continue to have an issue.
For now, I'm going to move Acrobat XI on the VM since I dont have time to reinstall Windows 8.
