Can i convert pdf to word doc for free?
With Adobe XI, it appears that i can convert a pdf to word doc for free, at least that is what the help page shows. However, when i try to convert the document i am led to a subscription page for this to function to be available. It's not expensive, but it is very misleading.
There is a 30-day trial for Acrobat, but not sure it can convert to WORD (though I think it can). The full product can. However, be aware that conversion from PDF to DOCX varys depending on the way the PDF was created. If properly created, the conversion may be almost exact, but more commonly there format issues and such to deal with. There are also different conversion selections that give options to retain text flow versus layout. If you are looking for perfection, then don't be surprised when you don't get it.

Please help!! Can't convert PDF to word doc
I just signed up for Adobe Export PDF and I am trying to convert a PDF into a word document. When I click "convert" it says "an error occuring when signing in. Does anyone know what that means? I tried signing out and signing back in but it still gives me the error message.
Hi there gizmo5,
I see your ExportPDF subscription (active since August 6), but don't see an order for PDF Pack.
What happens when you try to convert your files? Are you getting an error message? Or, are you unable to log in?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,

When attempting to convert pdf to word doc, I continually get "An error occurred while signing in" despite the fact that I'm already signed in. Please help if you can?
Hi lorrelaws,
Do you receive that error when you try to sign in via Reader? If so, try signing in via the web interface. Did that do the trick?
Let us know how it goes.

how can I convert .pdf file to .doc using the free adobe reader app? when I try to convert the .pdf file it asks me to sign in. when I click on "sign in", I am taken to a service subscription page. So, no free conversions using free adobe reader app?
As has been mentioned Adobe Reader cannot export PDF page content. Nor can it create PDF or manipulate PDF page content.
What you can do is use one of Adobe's online subscription services. Two provide for PDF to Word export.
There's ExportPDF and PDF Pack.
Be well... -

I have converted PDF to word doc but cant open because I have word 7. Do I need new word
I don't know what version of Word that is, it may be very old indeed.
Apparently, the basic compatibility is
DOC files - Word 97 onwards
DOCX files - Word 2007 onwards (add on for Word 2003 available) -

Hi Cowandmoon,
From within Adobe Reader, could you try opening Adobe Reader XI and choosing Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe Reader > Preferences (Mac), then select 'Adobe Online Services' from the left-hand side. Click 'Sign Out...', then sign back in with your Adobe ID and password.
After this is completed, try choosing the Tools pane again from within Reader to see if you can access your subscription.
Please let us know how it goes!
Thanks,

To convert documents larger than 100 MB you will need Acrobat; you can download the 30-day trial from https://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html
To cancel a subscription follow http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cancel-subscription-acrobat-online-servi ces.html -
Just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over
just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over. what can i do
For some reason this seems to happen to some. It may be that you have a date issue on the machine and Acrobat noted it. By the way, Adobe is the name of the company, not a product.
I have no idea how Adobe sets and tracks the trial information. It may be there is something else that has caused an issue and Acrobat thinks you have already had the trial on the system and uninstalled it. As far as I know, there is nothing you can do. You might be able to check with sales to see if there is a work-around, but users can do nothing to help you.
Sorry, hope you can find a way to test the product. It might also be related to the version of Windows that you did not state. -
I downloaded the trial adobe to convert PDF to word doc. now what?

Convert pdf to word doc?
How do I convert a pdf that is in preview to
a word doc?
DebI've found that some of the non-Adobe converters (and some of the free online converters) don't do such a good job as Acrobat Pro. If you want to try it out, you can download one of the free 30-day trial packages from Adobe that include Acrobat Pro X (such as Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard) and try it out for yourself. It won't cost you a thing to use for 30-days and each app is fully functional.
Just my 2¢... and if you want to get the best final product. Adobe also has an online service - Adobe CreatePDF -that will convert PDF to Word.
I think that it's free for a one-off.
Good luck,
