  • Can I copy bookmark titles and web addresses to a document file?

    I would like to copy my current bookmarks to a Word document. If I highlight>right-click>copy then try to paste into a blank page, the only information that appears is the bookmark title. I also need the URL selected, but the copy/paste function does not work.

    I would suggest that you use Mozbackup to backup your entire profile instead of trying to convert a bunch of emails into a Word document. Then if something bad happens you just install Thunderbird on the new computer and restore the backup. Then you have your address books and emails.

  • Using the calendar can I copy and paste phone numbers.

    Using my iPad mini can I copy and paste phone numbers on the calendar from different weekdays?

    I"m not sure exactly what you mean, but if I go into an appointment and open that appointment. I'll then see an 'edit' button. I tap on that to bring up a pop up with the details of the appointment. In there I can select and copy text, then I can make a new appointment and paste that text into a new appointment on a different day.

  • I can't copy my old iPhoto library from a external HD to my new mac?

    Hi. I just bought a new mac and want to have all my old iphoto pictures from my old mac into my new iPhoto library. I've tried to copy the old iPhoto library into a external HD(works fine), but the problem is that I can't copy it out from the external HD an in to my new mac again. It just say that it doesn't work because it doesnt have enough storage.
    I don't get why it would say that, because the old iPhoto library is 89.55 GB and I haven't used any memory at all on my new macbook pro, and my old macbook pro has memory enough to have the iPhoto library on it (the mac is 5 years old and has almost a full memory), so why can't my new macs memory manage the iPhoto library when my old mac can? It doesn't make sense at all.
    I've googled it, and it says everywhere that it should work by simply copy to external HD and move over the library from there and into the pictures folder, but this definitely doesn't work for me.
    I hope that some please can help me with this, I don't know what do to.

    How can I copy a playlist into a pages or numbers document?

    Open the Playlist.
    File>Print.
    In the Print settings, select Save as PDF
    Open Pages and a new document
    Open the PDF with Preview or Reader
    Select ALL text in the PDF
    Copy
    Paste into the Pages document.
    That's a long way to do it unless you know of a way to import PDFs into iWork.

    You can, but how are you going to back up those other files?  When (not if) your Time Capsule fails, you risk losing them.  See #Q3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule for details.
    Then can i access these files only on the time capsule without connecting it?
    Not sure what you mean.  You have to connect a computer, either via Ethernet cable or wirelessly, to read or write to the disk.

  • How can I copy a picture from Iphoto to a text document?  Currently when I drag and drop the picture is truncated.

    hello Apple community.
    How can I copy a picure from Iphoto to a blank text document(not Word, but text doc)? Currently when I do this, the picture is truncated. This is more difficult than using a PC! there has to be a better way to copy pictures or share pictures!
    Thank you,

    Hello,
    thank you for your reply.
    I am using the TextEdit on Mac as I do not have Word. When I paste an Iphoto, the picture is truncated horizontially, so you only see part of the picture.
    Yes, the picture is small enough to fit on the page.

  • Can you copy contacts from PHONE to SIM?

    Does anyone know how you copy contact from  your phone memory to your sim card?? I have a backup phone which I use sometime when I go out but when I swap the sim cards over the numbers aren't ont here and I end up retyping them all.

    Hello,
    See this KB:
    KB04205Copy a contact to your SIM phone book
    To my understanding, it is a one-by-one function and not an "all" function. Mainly I believe this to be due to the fact that the SIM can only contain one phone number per contact while the BB Address Book can contain multiple addresses per contact.
    Good luck!

  • How can I copy records from a Table to a ASCII/ Text file.?

    Hi
    Can you help me with code for copying the records from an oracle table to a Text file,? I like to copy the 1200 records from a 7 field table to a .txt file and print out the out put.
    earliest reply is deeply appreciated.

    All I would do is, in SQL*Plus, spool your output to a file and change the pagesize to however many lines you want before the next header break.
    For example:
    SET PAGESIZE 79
    SPOOL OUTPUT.TXT
    Would create an output file called OUTPUT.TXT with header rows produced after every 79 rows of data.

  • Can I copy installESD.dmg to DVD or Flash and install on a different Mac?

    I have downloaded Lion to my Macbook Pro.  We live in a rural area and are on a "low speed" high speed internet connection, so it took me ~24 hours to download.  I have not yet begun the installation process, and have copied the installesd.dmg from the install folder to  my desktop. We have 3 macs in our house, and I don't want to have to try to download again, as the process is so slow.  Can I just copy the installesd.dmg to a DVD or flash drive to install it on the other 2 macs?
    If this is possible, do I have to do anything special? Can I install from the flash or DVD or do I need to copy onto the target mac first?  Although both other macs are backed up using time machine, I'm a little nervous about just launching an installation without really knowing what I'm doing.

    No, you can't just copy the InstallESD.dmg file to a DVD or USB thumb drive IF you want to boot from those media and install Lion. You can follow the instructions here to burn a bootable DVD or restore a bootable USB thumb drive. You have already completed some of the steps. Just follow the steps to create a bootable DVD or USB thumb drive. The bootable media allows you to use Disk Utilities or the other Mac OS X Utilities if you need to prepare the volume you're installing on.

  • How can I copy my mail folder from my macbook to sync it to my mac air?

    I have a Macbook (black) and a Macair (silver). I use the black one daily, but want to use the silver one when I travel (dead light, etc). I am struggling to figure out how to update the email folder from the black on to the silver. In the past I have used the 'migration' option, but I don't want to migrate everything...only the mail folder. I have spoken to Mac Support several times but their suggestions haven't worked. I do have a Time Capsule that both of them back up to, but as each computer can only see its own back up stuff (pretty technical, I know...sorry), I don't know how to capture the mail folder from the black one and paste it into the silver one. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Type "move itunes library from mac to pc" into the google search bar.

  • Can we copy the Expression in Validation/Asignment in to a File???

    Hi,
    I need to document all the validation that i created.
    I opened the Validation editor and copied the Expression but unable to paste it in to a Note pad file ...
    Is there any trick to paste them Outside MDM in any type of File!!!
    KR
    John

    Expressions are available in exported schema (at-least up to MDM Version 7.1.06.221, which I used here).
    It's a value of 'expressionText' attribute of 'expression' xml tag, under Field / Assignment / Validation tags.
    For example, refer the 5th line in below snippet; which has a expression IS_NOT_NULL(Account Group.[Record])
    <Validation code="ERP_MANDATORY_ACCOUNT_GROUP" group="MDM Execute All Validations; ERP Mandatory Fields" autoexec="No" callable="No">
         <name eng_US="ERP Mandatory Account Group"/>
         <description eng_US="The Account Group is mandatory in SAP ERP remote systems."/>
         <errormsg eng_US="Customers: the Account Group is mandatory in SAP ERP remote systems."/>
         <expression expressionText="IS_NOT_NULL(Account Group.[Record])">
              <IsNotNull value="IS_NOT_NULL"/>
              <OpenParen value="("/>
              <Field expressionText="Account Group.[Record]">
                   <Field expressionField="MDM_CUSTOMERS:MDM_ACCOUNT_GROUP"/>
              </Field>
              <CloseParen value=")"/>
         </expression>
    </Validation>

  • How can I transfer document files from my mac classic to my macbook?

    I have a floppy drive on my old mac classic and cd drive on my macbook.  Is there some way to connect the two and transfer files directly?

    A Macintosh Classic (http://support.apple.com/kb/sp198) has a SCSI hard drive. Even though the hard drive can be removed and placed in an external SCSI enclosure, it is not going to be easy to find a way of connecting it to a modern Mac. That would normally require a USB-to-SCSI adapter, which may or may not be supported under the latest operating system versions.
    The easiest method of transferring files from a Macintosh Classic may be via an external USB floppy drive connected to the modern Mac. 1.44 MB Mac-formatted floppy disks can be used for such transfers (not 800K).
    A SCSI Zip (100) drive could in principle be connected to the SCSI port of the Macintosh Classic. The Zip disk could then be moved to a USB Zip (100) drive connected to a modern computer.
    The Macintosh Classic does not have built-in Ethernet, nor a slot for an Ethernet card (certain other "classic" Macintosh computers do have the ability to hold an Ethernet card). There are some external solutions (such as SCSI-to-Ethernet adapters), but with limitations. For a networking overview, the http://www.applefool.com/se30/ web page could perhaps be of interest.
    It is also possible to arrange a null-modem connection between a Macintosh Classic and a modern computer, providing that a USB-to-serial adapter is attached to the latter (appropriate terminal emulation programs are needed on both sides).

  • I have a new all in one computor and I can't open E mails once I save them to Documents file.

    I have a new all in one HP computor which has windows 7. When I save a E mail to Documents I cand open it back up.I have charter internet and the E mails are HTML>

    Typically this is a problem when the sender creates the file with an extension that you, as the recipient, can not open.    What is the file extension?
    Is it .docx?  If so, that requires MS Office Word 2010 or newer.  MS Office Word versons circa 1997-2003 used .doc as the file extension. The default in 2010 is .docx  There is an option within the save-as to select the older .doc extension.

  • I have transferred Word files from my PC to my new Mac Book Pro and some of the files cannot be clicked on and opened or even deleted because you can't select them. There are a variety of document files and pdfs etc. Any ideas ?

    I have transferred word files form my PC to my new Mac Book Pro. Some of the word files are feint and will not open as you cant select them. Also you cant delete them either because the cursor wont highlight or select them. Any ideas anyone?

    Have you tried looking at the file in list view in the Finder and seeing if they actually occupy any space? i.e. "Size"? There shouldn't be any problem with Office documents, Adobe pdfs, etc. If they migrated properly - did you use Migration Assistant or some similar utility?
