I have installed new directory server on new machine and already add all users. Then I install messging server 6.0 on new machine. I want to migrate mail box to new server, can I copy store folder on old messaging server (6.0) to use on new server.

You can do an imsbackup/imsrestore. This will take care of everything. It's how I migrated from 5.1 to 5.2 on a new machine.
You could also try using tar and then running a reconstruct -m. In theory, that should work. But I haven't tested it.

You don't mention which operating system you have so it's difficult to provide an answer since the mac and Windows stores the files differently.
The other thing you can do is just re-download the apps from the iTunes Store. Just login to the iTunes Store on the other computer using the same Apple ID. On the right-hand side of the iTunes Store page you will see a 'Purchased' link. Clicking on that will take you to a page that will list your past purchases which you can re-download to the new computer.

You can't copy directly from one iPod to another, you have to copy the songs back to iTunes and update the new iPod from there. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. Can I copy clips from one project to another? The clips are frames saved as stills from a video event. I try the copy & paste but it does not seem to work.

The video was converted into MP4 and then I could get it into iMovie events. I had right clicked and saved farmes as stills. ABout 50 of them, When I tried to copy and paste those stills into another project I couldn't. They came up blank.
I ended up going to a Genius appointment at my APPLE store this afternoon and was told that those "stills" aren't really anything. Not a .jpg or video, so the program doesn't recognize them. So instead I'm using the Project with the 50 stills and copying other .jpgs and video into it. (This is for a 1961 Class Reunion, so it's old stuff). Seems to work so far.
So bottom line seems to be I can use these stills created from a video in the project in which they were created, but no where else. Do you know a way around this?

Every time I try do download an app iTunes asks for a billing update, claiming my account has been used on another machine. Why?

Can't copy a folder, getting error code -41

I can't copy or duplicate a folder. Doesn't seem to matter where I try to copy it (through finder). I seem to have the appropriate permissions. I checked disk utility and it said the disk was okay. Here is the full error:
*The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -41).*
I'm using Mac OS X Server 10.6.5 but this forum seemed more appropriate given the issue. The size of the folder is around 260MB. The folder is a grails project.
Can anyone please help me? This is really frustrating.

Yes, "cp -Rp" will treat ACLs properly and not duplicate like Finder, "cp -R" just ignores them, whatever works... but file a bug if you want this fixed (bugreporter.apple.com)
For those who want to fix their files that have tons of ACL you can kill them all, make a textedit (text only Command-Shift-T), paste this in:
#!/bin/bash
IFS=$'\t\n'
find "${@}" -exec chmod -N {} \;
Open terminal and add the execute bit with: chmod +x <drag file from finder into terminal> <Enter>
Then run with the name of the path as the argument... for more detail

For the troubleshooters:
I got it down to the bare minumum on a clean OS X Server install, not AD bound or anything extraneous. Just AFP running on a server with an IP with forward reverse lookup. I made a share, added admin (501) to the ACL (as Read only), touched a file and duplicated it in Finder, locally on the server.
10.6-10.6.2 functioned fine. 10.6.3 and 10.6.4 added bizarre behavior where a WRITE ACE was added to the ACL, but the ACEs weren't "stacking up", 10.6.5 and 10.6.6 added the redundant ACEs that when you tried copying/duplicating packages and apps with Finder would result in insane amounts of duplication, try Chess.app you'll get 18 ACEs deep in one Finder copy! 3rd copy fails with Error -41
So get reporting folks, 10.6.7 might be the last Snow Leopard update, and even if it isn't I'm getting pretty tired of dealing with this bug and don't want to wait until 10.6.8! So I just filed my bug #9160099 (another poster referenced his bug #8816661, that 343,438 bug reports later!)

NOT using Migration Assistant. All of the tracks are in one of two formats: MP3 and AAC.

Here's my standard instructions for doing this via Home Sharing.
First, make sure you've got the home share set up on both computers, as per the following document. If material on the original PC was bought from the iTunes Store, I'd use the AppleID you used for the purchases to set up the Home Share on both PCs.

Have both computers running and have iTunes open on both computers.
Now, in the iTunes on the computer you want to transfer music to, select the library that you want to transfer music from, as per the following screenshot:
Once the other library loads, go down to the bottom of the screen and in "Show:" select "Items not in my library":
If you want to import all of the songs you can now see, head up to the iTunes menu bar and go "Edit > Select all". Then head down to the bottom of the screen again and click the "Import" button in the bottom-right-hand corner.
If there's a lot of stuff in your original PC's library, the transfer may take some time.

most of the zip-tools can be started via parameter. So you have to read the readme's of those tools and start it in the background with the appropriate parameters

If i back up my mac using Time Machine and an external hard-drive, can that same hard-drive be used on another computer and on a PC?

I hav just got a macbook pro and am used to using a HP pc and am a newbie! I have backed up my macbook with my elements external hardrive and was wondering if i can transfer the music i have purchased and is now on my external hard-drive back onto my other laptop purely because i use both laptops for different things and want to use my music on both. how do i do this? and do i need a particular software to do so?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can do it, but it's not recommended to use a Time Machine volume to store other files. In this case, you can create a second volume on the external drive, so you will be able to use it to store data and transfer it to other PCs.
As you are going to use the external drive with other PCs, you can make the volume and format it in "MS-DOS (FAT)" with Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU3.html Finally, you will be able to copy files to the external drive.
If you copy files to a Time Machine disk, you may damage the Time Machine file structure, so you shouldn't do it. It may not happen, but it's better not to try that. Also, you won't be able to read the Time Machine drive in a PC

Can't update, HD is being used by Time Machine

I get the message that the Hard Drive can't be used because it's being used by Time Machine. Time Machine is turned off. Following advice on another thread I deleted a TM pref file, restarted, and selected none (which wasn't there previously). I have repaired permissions as well. Any ideas? Thanks.

When I choose my machintosh HD drive to install mountain lion says "This disk is used for time machine backups". HELP!!!

Although this may be too late for the OP, here's the answer: If you see a Backups.backupdb folder on your main harddrive, either remove it or rename it. That seems to be the only qualifier for calling a disk a Time Machine Backups disk as far as the installer is concerned.

Can Pages automatically copy text from one page to another?
For example recurring text in a document e.g. addressee details or a date (not today's date).
I want to type the topic title of one letter and have it automatically filled into the correct field in the next page which will be a letter to a different recipient.
The letter text will be different for each recipient so mail merge probably won't work.
