Can I create a brochure (11x17) that includes photos/text with Elements?
I'm considering purchasing Elements. My main need is to create two or three brochures a year for the nonprofit I volunteer with. Is that possible - and, more importantly, advisable - to attempt with Elements? I'm a mac user.
I would recommend you take a look at the free Open Office utilities from Oracle which has publishing, PDF, spreadsheets and word processing all included. PSE9 would be ideal for image editing and for inserting into those documents.
You certainly want to avoid Quark Express or Adobe InDesign CS5.5 as you will almost certainly be paying for features you will never need.

So far all I have been able to do is to use the Image description as the static text, but this text will not slide horizontally, it will just change, and the picture will slide underneath it.
I want both the picture of the phone, AND the text next to it to slide horizontally when the user clicks the next/previous buttons. You can achieve this by using slid show. Add image to the slide and there is a text box at the bottom of the slideshow box, which you can drag and place on the image within the frame. Please refer the screenshot below.

Can I create an email form that includes a field for uploading and image?
I'd like to create an email form in Muse that allows people to submit the usual text but also allows them to browse for and upload an image that would be emailed (attached or inline) to me along with the text.
Does anyone know if there's a way to do that directly in Muse?

Many of the forms are created with LiveCycle ES so it might be possible to edit the form with Acrobat X Professional. If you have the data in an SQL database, you could possibly create a data connection and import the data into the form and save a copy of the completed form. You can also use the Acrobat JavaScript 'importTextData' to import a row of data from a tab delimited data file.
You might want to talk to other Real Estate professionals to see how they are going do this. If you have a property management program, that program might have an update to perform this task. -
How can I print a Contacts list that includes Photo in Version 8.0 (1371)
After I attach photos to selected contacts, I attempt to print in two different ways. One is to print a PDF version and the other is to go to the print command, click "details" and make sure the "photo" option is checked. Then I print in PDF. In both cases, most of the attached photos don't show... but not in all cases. A few of the photos did show. But over 90% didn't. How can this be corrected in Version 8.0 (1371) of Contacts running Mavericks OS X 10.9.4.

Just as I said, I need to be able to make some kind of document where I can combine text, photos, and drawings/sketches for ideas/plans. Anyone know of an app or apps that can do that? I can find ones that do text & photos easy, but it's the ability to add sketches/drawings into one document that I really need. I know of one newer app that is new that attempts it, Ideaz, but it has a lot of bugs, you can only type in about 50 characters of text & trying to draw in it doesn't even work. It's awful.
You can't add sketches, only tables & photos plus it doesn't have very good reviews. But thank you for your quick reply.

Or do you have to pay yet more for Acrobat?Rachel, although Word is not specifically designed for the job you describe, it can be used for it. Once you have completed your document, you can export it to a PDF file directly from Word (File > Save as > PDF). I would suggest trying first with a single page containing text and photographs like those you'll be eventually using. If results are not as good as you would like, you can explore other methods, such as using a proper design program to produce your originals. And, whatever method you use, don't forget to keep the original files along with your PDFs, and backup copies of both.

How can I generate a data merge that includes a barcode from excel spreadsheet to InDesign?
Can you please advise if the following process is possible within InDesign CS 5.5? (Mac OS 10.8.2).
We need to create a data merge that includes a barcode. The data merge is for several thousand records.
We have a customer-supplied Excel spreadsheet that contains seven fields, one of which is a number that ultimately needs to print as a barcode when we make the data merge in InDesign.
As you would expect, the conventional six fields data merge perfectly - but we can't find a way to make the barcode print correctly within the data merge.
We have investigated several possible solutions without success.
Some solutions suggest a plug-in for Excel to convert the number into a barcode whilst still in the spreadsheet - but this doesn't come across correctly when we import the CSV file into the InDesign data merge.
We have investigated certain third party software applications but none provide the full solution we require. Some, for example, appear to create the barcode within the Excel spreadsheet but don't produce the barcode correctly when we data merge in InDesign; and some will allow us to create a one-off barcode within InDesign but have no automated way of retrieving the thousands of Excel numbers and turning them into barcodes.
We have also come across possible 'font' solutions but have had no success with these either.
For a previous job we needed to produce we outsourced to a specialist mailing company, who assured us they produced the whole job (very quickly) within InDesign. They, understandably, won't tell us how they did it. But, given the speed with which they produced the job for us, we imagine - with the correct software - the whole process is easy to do.

This Step (41.7.3.1.2 Create a SOA Bundle that Includes the JAR Profile) talks about creating SOA bundle.. But I do NOT see the SOA bundle in the deployment screen.
I see JAR, RAR, SOA-SAr etc.. BUT not the SOA bundle..
What mistake I am making??? Can you please throw some light??

SOA Bundle option is available under Application Properties --> Deployment --> New. I guess you are looking it under Project properties.

Can I create a PDF document that can be commented on by others using READER
I have dozens (hundreds?) of PDF Books that I've purchased. Whoever created them made them so anyone using Adobe Reader 5 or better can make highlights and comments on the text. I use the feature to correct typos and send them back to the publisher. I know it can be done because I've been doing it for a few years before I ever got Adobe Standard.
So . . . My question is . . . How can I create documents like this that can be commented on using Adobe Reader? I have Adobe Standard 8 and I don't see this as a separate feature of Adobe Pro. and I'm hoping that I'm just missing the instructions on how it's done. I do not have any problem doing what I want using Adobe Standard 8 but I need to be able to make it doable in Reader so others can make comments in my documents.

are available with Acrobat 8 Professional / 3D version 8 or Acrobat Professional / Pro Extended respectively.
Additionally, Adobe provides a server based service (LiveCycle ES) that "enables/extends" a PDF such that Adobe Reader can be used for Comment, Review, Digital Signature, etc.
That you can use Adobe Reader to comment on PDFs means one of the above applications were used.
Because you have mentioned the PDFs are purchased PDF Books I suspect that LiveCycle ES was used.
This server based application (which has a myriad of "modules" available) is expensive so, typically, it is licensed by enterprises that need its functionality. Examples: the large publishing houses or governmental agencies (e.g., IRS).
If you move up to Acrobat Professional you will be able to "Extend Features in Adobe Reader" such that others can perform Comment & Review on your PDF documents.
As Acrobat 9.x is the current, marketed release the Professional version would be available to you via an upgrade (not to be confused with the free "updates").

May I know why you do not use cost center for consumption?
You may create a new account assignment category in OME9 by copying K and maintain the cost center as optional. Please note that you have to maintain the item category blank and the account assignment category combination in OMG0. Now, you can use a GL account in PO which doesnt require a cost center assignment (in OBC4 against the field status group of the GL)
You may use the same account assignment category created in the previous step with item category D, after you maintain the combination of the account assignment with item category D in OMG0.
Please test the scenario and revert back.

You need to use LiveCycle (PC Only) to create a dynamic form like that.
The best you can do with Acrobat to view all of the text in a field is to set the field to multiline, and set the size to "Auto" (If you don't set the size to 'Auto', you can enter as much text as you wish, but the user will need to use the scrollbar to view all of the text.) -

Can a cache be distributed in these deffirent nodes?Yes. You can create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent cache-config.xml files as long as you use the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file. But you cannot store the cache data in the different nodes (started with different cache-config file). In other word, a node only create caches in their own's modes which are started with the same cache-config.xml file.

I start a cache server using the cache config file examples-cache-server.xml. Then I start a storage-disabled cache console (cache client) using the cache config file coherence-cache-config.xml. Both of them using the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file.
The cache server uses a cache service PartitionedPofCache. But the client side is using the Distributedcache service. The cluster address is same 224.3.5.2.
