Can I create a DVD in Premiere Pro?

I found out what format to use for DVDs, but when I exported in that format I got something called an "xmp." It took about two minutes to create it, when creating a mov file takes a lot longer. The xmp doesn't play, either directly on my computer or after I burned it to a DVD. I'm clearly doing something wrong. Do I need another piece of software to make a DVD? It's not complicated, no chapters. I just need a DVD I can send to family members, some of them non-tech people who just want to pop it into their players and watch it.

Rrobin,
For the Export issue, let's start with the version of PrPro (and Encore), that you have, plus the OS version, that you are running.
Then, please let us know what Sequence Setting you are using, the specs. of the Audio & Video on that Sequence, and the approximate Duration of that Sequence.
Last, it appears that you are trying to Export that Sequence, for Import into Encore. If that is correct, please let us know what your Export settings are.
That will be a good start in troubleshooting your issues.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Create a DVD using Premiere Pro and Encore - delay between audio and video (in ms)?

I created a DVD and need to be sure that audio and video are in perfect sync (smaller than 1 millisecond).
Is this even possible with Premiere Pro / with DVDs in general?
My sequence settings in Premiere are:
DV PAL, 25 fps, 720x576 (16:9), D1/DV PAL Widescreen, lower field first, Audio: 48000 Hz
My DVD settings in Encore are:
    MPEG-2 (MainConcept MPEG-Video), 720x576, 25 fps, lower field first, Widescreen 16:9 (1,458), Bitrate VBR, 2-Pass, Min 1,5 MBit/s Target 4 MBit/s, Max 9 MBit/s, GOP: M-Frames 3, N-Frames 12, Audio: Dolby Digital, 192 kbit/s

Frame accurate is the best you can achieve and that means 33 milliseconds at best.

  • Create closed caption within Premiere Pro

Question: I'm using Premiere Pro 6 on a intel Xeon mac osx 10.8.3. I need to do captions for my project. I followed the Tutorial on "Create closed caption within Premiere Pro". When it comes to going to the window tab and selecting Captions.
Problem: in my copy of Premiere Pro 6 there isn't  this option for selecting the captions buttton.  How can this be resolved ?

That tutorial is talking about Premiere Pro CC, which doesn't come out until June 17th.  The current CS6 version cannot actually create Closed Captioned files.  You need to do that in a third party program for import into PP.

  • Can one create 2 dvd's instead of a DL-DVD?

    Hi,
Can one create two DVD's as output from Encore CS 5, instead of one DL-DVD?  This is a very big project - around 1.5 hours and I need to distribute to someone who might not have DL playback capabilities.  I really don't want to go back to Premiere to come up with two sequences and then transcode again.  This takes too much time.  If there are ways to do this outside of Encore and Premiere if it's not possible to do it within Encore alone, that would also be appreciated.
I am assuming that what I want to do can't be done, from the following post:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/831171
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Steve,
Encore is not the tool for this. Going back to PrPro will save you a lot of grief, and will be much quicker.
Just do the Exports for "Part 1," and then "Part 2." Do separate Projects in Encore, but you might want to do the setup first, without any Video and Audio Assets (except if used in Menus), and do a Save for this "template." Then, Open that "template" Project, do a Save_As (naming this Part 1), so you are not overwriting the "template," and then Import the unique Assets, link and Burn to Disc (Disc 1). Go back to the "template" do a Save_As (naming this Part 2), and repeat. Simple, and that "template" Project saves having to do the setup all over again.
    Good luck,

  • Can't burn a DVD on Premiere Elements 12

At 98% media encoding the DVD is spit out and I get the following:  internal software error:/premiere/elements/molecules/pre-mediacore/External/AuthorScript/Source
Any suggestions? I need the video for a class this week!

    ATR,
Thank you for the reply and suggestions. I did some more researching and found a suggestion to remove the stop marker at the end of my video....and it worked! Apparently the stop marker causes an internal error. Mystery solved.
Thank you again for the ideas. I'm going to keep them on file for the next burn hic-up.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on?
Is this an external or internal burner?
Would you say that this is a case of "it worked before but not now" or "it never worked before"?
Although you cannot burn to disc DVD, can you burn your Timeline to folder. If so, the VIDEO_TS Folder from the burn to folder + ImgBurn to get your DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc may be your answer to this time crunch.
Let us start here and then decide what next depending on your answers.
Next step may be getting more information about your project settings and properties of your source media.
Could you post a screenshot of the error message that you are getting?
More details in the morning when we will be watch for your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • Can't import prores files into Premiere Pro CC or SpeedGrade CC

Can't import prores files into Premiere Pro CC or SpeedGrade CC. But I can into After Effects CC.
I also can't export to DNxHD files to an MXF file either.
I do have latest Quicktime Pro installed and I also have Avid Media Composer and the other pieces of the Avid package.
    Conflict?

I only have one account on the computer and it has Administrator priveleges.  What I am doing to make it work is opening the application using the "Run as Administrator" command (e.g., right click application shortcut on desktop, choose "Run as Administrator").  I am not a Windows guru but I would guess there is something different between opening an Application with a user that has Administrator priveleges and opening an Application choosing "Run as Administrator".  Also, your answer still does not address the fact that I can't use my jog wheel.
    Anyone else have some ideas?

  • Can't burn project to DVD from Premiere Pro CS5.5

Hello to all the experts out there!
We have been having ongoing issues attempting to burn our finalised project in Premiere Pro CS5.5.
We have tried many of the suggestions found in the forum, including changing file names, checking for gaps in the timeline, changing DVD discs, exporting as an MPEG file (always says unknown error), sending to Encore via Dynamic Link (goes 3/4 way through transcoding and freezes every time), installing Roxio updates etc etc.
We still can't get the project to burn to disc and I am not sure where to go with it next.
Its a 34 minute project, and have been able to export up to 24 mins of it, so I suspect there is a problem with something in the end of the timeline but just can't work it out.
Does anyone have any tips, pleaseeeee!???
    Cheers,
    Georgi

As well as the below, right click the Encore icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

  • I need to create DVDs but Premiere Pro requires Encore, and Encore is no longer available

I had Encore installed, but it gave me error messages when trying to import a Premiere Pro CC 2014 file. Following the advice from the support listings, I uninstalled Premiere Pro, then downloaded and ran the Adobe cleanup file, which removed my copy of Encore. Now I can't find a way to download it again because it's only available if I download Premiere Pro CS6, and there's no way to find and download PP CS6.
I'm in the middle of a project for the Library of Congress, that requires me to send a DVD. Adobe should recognize that DVDs are still important for some applications, and should be making Encore as available as all the other applications in Creative Cloud. This has become a very frustrating process when it should be getting easier.

Are you sure? CS6 still shows up in my Creative Cloud app (which I upgraded moments ago, by the way).
Your point is that PR/EN CS6 is still available, and that is true.Your list is of the "installed apps" section and indicates that it is already installed. The poster indicates it was uninstalled and he should be looking in the "find new apps" area. Many users appear to be continuing to install PR CS6 with EN CS6. But others are having problems (as some have all along).
A new problem appears to be that users seem to believe they have to uninstall PR CC in order to add PR CS6. And some odd errors have added fuel to the fire.
The errors referred to by this user were probably no more than trying to dynamic link from PR CC to EN, which, of course, does not work.

  • How do I create a mask in Premiere Pro?

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5, on a late 2013 iMac.  I would like to create a mask around a character in my video so I can put her on top of other videos (making the background for the video she's in transparent/invisible).  I have seen tons of videos about making a mask, but it is just for text and isn't what I need since I need the character to move.  Any tips?
