Can I create a new 'master' from an existing 'version'?

All,
I've spent a few hours poking around the forums but
haven't seen this question posed.
Can I take a 'version' and turn it into a 'master'?
I would like the ability to export masters and my 5*
versions out at the same time in the .nef format. If
there is a way to turn finished versions into
masters, my problem is solved.
If that isn't possible, can I export masters and
versions at the same time (so that I keep masters and
their versions with consecutive counters in their
filenames)?
Or, am I completely out to lunch?

I think you could take a version and turn it into a new master if you export the version to your hard drive, and then import it as a new file. I don't know of a way to convert a version to a new master within Aperture. I also don't know of a way to export a master and all it's versions at the same time - it's two separate functions in the file > export menu.
Keep in mind when you export masters, they are exported as exactly the file format they were imported as (RAW, jpg or TIFF) except possibly the name. When exporting versions, though, you cannot export as a RAW format - the only choices are jpg, png, TIFF or PSD.

If you are referring the Master Password that can be set in System Preferences>Security>FileVault, then see this thread:

As explained there, and for obvious security reasons, a new master password created in this fashion way will not unlock any pre-existing FileVault accounts. Resetting the master password is therefore only useful after you turn off FileVault in all existing accounts. You can then turn FileVault back on after the new master password is in place.

Can you create a new comp from a clip after you already have one in your project?

I know if you create a new project and import a clip, then drag that clip down to the timeline panel, After Effects will create a new composition based off of the specs of the clip, which is exactly as long as the clip. Is there a way to do this after you have already created one composition in your project?
I've tried it and it just wants to add the clip to an already opened composition or if you close all the compositions, it wants to add it to the render queue.

Actually, that's not quite right. To create a new composition with settings that match those of the footage item, you drag the footage item to the Create A New Compsotion button at the bottom of the Project panel. See "Create a composition".
If you drag a footage item from the Project panel to the Timeline panel for an already existing composition, then you are telling After Effects to create a new layer based on that footage item inside the existing composition.
If you drag a footage item to the Render Queue panel, then After Effects creates a new composition from the footage item and immediately adds that composition to the render queue.

Can you create a new table from an Excel spreadsheet

It would be GREAT if there was a way to use SQL Developer to take an Excel Spreadsheet, and create a new table based on it - does anyone know if that's possible?

Multi cam synced, can't create the new seq from clip

multi cam work flow. trying to follow through the tutorials and help - but stuck. I have synced 2 cams with audio, next step says to create new sequence from clip - but when I do all I get is a 1 second sequence (it should have been 15mins. Tried all the methods listed, now randomly trying select all, targets tracks, etc, ?

That helped, back at it - thanks. New trouble - although I can now make the multi-cam target sequence of the correct duration, I move into program monitor for editing the multi cam display enabled, the separate sources/cams no longer show in the window... it's just blank. I've checked my vid drivers- up to date with manufacturer (not windows) updates.

Every time that I fill a row of cells I want to creat a new table with the content of that cells.
How can I do it?

From the top table, I want to fill these rows, and everytime that it´s done, I want that a new table apears like the cells under.
There is any Way to do it?
In the Spanish version of Number I found in the references formulas, one formula called "DIRECTION" that describes to do this.
But I found no way to do it.
The above formula it´s this:

Based on the syntax you quoted for that function, the english equivalent is "Address". It doesn't create a Table, but rather it creates an Address that references a Cell, in the form of a String. The common, and only, use that I am aware of for Address is to use it as the parameter for INDIRECT. For example: INDIRECT(ADDRESS)) will produce a reference to a table cell, but it will not produce a table.

Can I create a mirrored RAID1 from an existing striped RAID0 without erasing the data?

I have a 1.5 TB striped RAID0 with 3 500 GB drives. I have a clone of the data from the 1.5TB RAID on a non-RAID 1TB drive and a 500GB drive. I'd like to create a RAID1 mirrored set out of all of these disks. I can partition the 1TB into 2 500GB drives and combine that with the other 500 GB. I'd rather not erase the data to create the mirror. Is there a way to rebuild a mirrored set from the existing 1.5 TB striped set, or do I need to start all over? I have a third copy of the data that I could put on the new mirrored RAID if necessary.
The data is aperture, itunes and imovie libraries. To back up a minute, is having a RAID1 a good option or is there a better solution that I am not considering?
PS I'm using a 2.53 GHz macbook pro unibody with 8GB of RAM.

First off a mirrored RAID requires two drives of equal size (could be two striped RAIDs of equal size.) So, as I understand what you have to work with you can create a single 500 GB mirrored RAID using two of the 500 GB drives.
You could create a striped RAID array using two of the 500 GB drives, then combine it with the 1 TB drive you have to create a 1 TB mirrored RAID. But this would not be the best alternative because if one of the smaller drives in the striped array fails then you lose everything on those drives. Not so bad as long as the single 1 TB drive is OK.

RAID is a method of combining multiple disk drives into a single entity in order to improve the overall performance and reliability of your system. The different options for combining the disks are referred to as RAID levels. There are several different levels of RAID available depending on the needs of your system. One of the options available to you is whether you should use a Hardware RAID solution or a Software RAID solution.
RAID Hardware is always a disk controller to which you can cable up the disk drives. RAID Software is a set of kernel modules coupled together with management utilities that implement RAID in Software and require no additional hardware.
Pros and cons
Software RAID is more flexible than Hardware RAID. Software RAID is also considerably less expensive. On the other hand, a Software RAID system requires more CPU cycles and power to run well than a comparable Hardware RAID System. Also, because Software RAID operates on a partition by partition basis where a number of individual disk partitions are grouped together as opposed to Hardware RAID systems which generally group together entire disk drives, Software RAID tends be slightly more complicated to run. Do You Really Need a RAID?
There is only one thing a RAID provides - more space. Beyond that a RAID can’t help you with:
Accidental deletion or user error
Viruses or malware
Theft or catastrophic damage
Data corruption due to other failed hardware or power loss
Striped RAIDs have a higher failure risk than a single drive
The purpose of a RAID is to provide high speed mass storage for specialized needs like video editing, working with extremely large files, and storing huge amounts of data.
If your array fails it means complete loss of data and hours of time to rebuild. RAIDs degrade over time necessitating many hours of restoration. And, if you don't know much about RAIDs then you really don't need one.
You can use a RAID for backup. But unless your backup needs involve TBs of data requiring rapid and frequent access, why bother? TM works in the background. It's not like you have to sit there waiting for your backup to be completed. Furthermore, you're buying two drives possibly to solve a problem where a single drive will do. And, one drive is less expensive than two.
Ignoring overhead, two drives in a RAID 0 (striped) array should perform about twice as fast. However, as the array fills up with files that performance will degrade.
RAID was a technology that in it's time was meant to solve a problem. Large capacity, fast drives were extremely expensive. Small drives were cheaper but slower. However, combining these cheaper drives into arrays gave faster performance and the larger capacity needed for data storage needs. Thus, the reason why it's called Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives. But today you can buy a 3 TB drive with performance that's better than the 1 TB drives of two or three years ago.

Had to buy new laptop which of course has Vista. The old unit was acting up(I think Windows XP was corrupt), so I saved my Library Files but it looks like the old machine only saved portions not the whole Library. I had approx. 13,000 tunes (35GB) in the LIbrary and all that was saved seems to be 319 tunes. I have all the music on an external HD and only the Library was on the laptop. Once you get a complete iTunes folder on the external drive, start iTunes with the option/alt key held down and select the iTunes Library.itl file on the external drive. You will also need to do this with your main computer or the libraries will become unsynchronized.
Alternatively you can make a separate library using the same media on the second computer. Start as you have been doing, let iTunes create a new, blank library file which will be on hte internal drive, set the media folder location in preferences to be the one on the external drive, then add the files to the new iTunes library. Unless you are a super-organized individual, or you don't care if your libraries do not have the same content, you are better off using a single library file that is on the external, not setting up separate library files.

Try this. Back up your entire site folder somewhere safe, then delete the Generated Items folder. Made a small change to an action - Golive should create a new Generated Items folder. Don't ever do anything to your site or files from then on unless via the site window - as I pointed out in your other thread, this is usually what causes such problems.

Well basically you are adding a stackLayout bean and using that adding your region. Are you able to see the changes and run the page without any error?
As you are manipulating the file manually, you can never be sure of whether its going to cause issues later on or not. And as mentioned earlier if OAF doesn't support creating the subtab using personalization, there are bound to be some limitations from the framework side. Also what personalization allows is to create items and not regions. So better stick to a rigorous testing to catch any issues early on.

the problem is that trying to make it work i deleted the "profile" usb iphone on the network prefereces panel. Now i only have 3 options: ethernet / wifi / bluetooth
but not the usb iPhone i used to have.
And when i try to add a new one i dont get a USB option.
