Can I create my own DVD menu with Encore and a trial version of Photoshop?

I am finishing up a movie project and would like to create my own menu background. I guess I need Photoshop for this but don't want to purchase the app just for one little part of my project. Does anyone know if it is possible to create a "Photoshop file" sufficient for what I would need (in Encore for the menu background) but with using a TRIAL version of Photoshop?

Can you create a custom dvd menu with Premiere Elements 12?

I am giving this software a trial before deciding whether to buy. Is it possible to create your own custom DVD menu? I understand that you can "download" a template and customize it to some extent. But the customizing does not seem to allow you to delete or add elements, like graphics or menu buttons. I want to be able to delete graphics/menu buttons I don't want, as well as add or subtract buttons as I need for each project. Or, I would like to create a menu from scratch.
Is either method possible in Premiere Elements? Thank you for any assistance.

You can go with a one main menu set up and use main menu buttons. But, note that there are typically far less buttons on the main menu than on the scene menu. One maneuver is to switch the main menu with the scene menu to gain a buttons per page advantage. That is done by reversing the file names of the main menu .psd and scene menu .psd.
At the editing of the .psd level, there is also the choice to add more buttons per page to a scene menu and create text or thumbnail scene buttons.
One of the principles to keep in mind...no one movie in a multi movie Timeline can have its own Scene Menu page.

In any case, I have discovered that I can edit the templates and then bring them into my project. So long as I save them as the same name, Adobe Premiere Elements doesn't realize that anything has changed.

If your customization does not require the opening of Layer Sets in the Layers Palette of the .psd file (happens under certain plans), Photoshop Elements can do the .psd edit job for you, and you do not have to go to Photoshop CS or higher. There are Photoshop actions that might be used in Photoshop Elements to open Photoshop Layer Sets (as found in the disc menu .psd files), but I will not get into that right now.

I like the templates I have, but is there a way I can create a custom DVD menu in PP 2.0?

I would also suggest using the same general naming conventions for your Main and Scene Selection Menus. Names, like this: NTSC_abstract_s_mm.psd and NTSC_abstract_s_sm.psd. In this case, I would change the word "abstract" to indicate your Project, or similar.
Also, in PrPro 2.0, your Menus will be in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0\DVD Templates\[Your New Folder].

Creating two-level dvd menu with Elements 9

Hi,
I am trying to burn a DVD (and later on Blu-Ray) using PRE 9. I can burn using a provided menu-template.
However, I would like to create a two (or multi) level menu for the disk. I would like to make the menu
look like this:
Play all
Year 1
Scene 1A
Scene 1B
Main Menu
Year 2
Scene 2A
Scene 2B
Main Menu
Year 3
I would like to burn DVD and Blu-ray disks with such menus.
How can I create such menus using Premier Element 9?

I am not clear on what you mean by a "two level DVD menu".
Premiere Elements disc menus come as a set of main menu and scene menus. But, it is possible to have the menu situation present with one main menu.
Apparently you want to have a Timeline of multiple movies, have the viewer select the one to watch first, and then, at the end of the movie selected, have the viewer taken back to the main menu. That all can be accomplished for DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc with the placement of stop marker at the end of each Timeline movie (except the last one). Each movie could have a scene marker at its beginning which will trace to a scene button in the scene selection page. But, there is a sacrifice in doing this. This scenario does not permit for a functional "Play All".

In addition, the above is not applicable to AVCHD format on DVD disc or Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc (with stop markers) because the players for those discs do not support stop markers.

Creating a simple DVD menu with text as buttons...

Hi, I am rather new to DVDSP but fairly accomplished at the software designers earlier product, DVD Virtuoso (still use it). Can anyone tell me where there is a tutorial to create a simple text DVD menu? I would like to place a colored rectangle (opacity) behind the text to help it stand off the background and have access to some fairly basic text tools like Bevel & Emboss, Stroke and Drop Shadow. Has some discussion and examples I posted elsewhere which should help get you going. Best to do graphics in Photoshop, then make sure all text/layers rasterized, then make them flattened picts. One will be background layer, the other grayscale overlays to map colors (these examples should start you off I think)
PS I know Hal has a great example with better step by steps, and if I get a chance later I can also fill in details on what I did

You can still purchase the retail disk version of iLife 11 which includes iDVD; it's available at several online resellers including Amazon and ebay. I purchased it because I wanted to be able to reinstall if necessary since there is absolutely no decent replacement for iDVD.

i assume you mean by using ServerSocket in AIR. ServerSocket creates a TCP server (listening) socket. RTMFP uses UDP. ServerSocket can't be used to create an RTMFP endpoint.

Complex Splits - Can I Create my Own?

Im just wondering if in Mainstage 2. can i creat my own complex splits with the freedom of what ever instruments i want. Like one side would be dragndrop sample kit, the middle would be an ultra beat, and the third, right side, woulc be a keyboard. is that possible?

Ok Great. I figured out how to make as many splits i as want to. Thats good.
However.
Now im trying to lower the octave of just one of the instruments im using my novation sl 61 key. for example. i am just trying to make a basic split with a drum and bass. so i found the drum noise i want. say its breaks remix. or big beat remix. depending on what you have on your computer. so then im trying to use a bass noise from the c3 all the way up c1-b2 is the drum... Anyway. the noise that i hit it on the bass is still to high pitched. i need to keep the mapping the same as it is understanding the split for the keyboard, but i just need to lower the octave just the bass noise. i hope that makes sense.

I have tried FL studio demo to create our own loops. But there is no trial version for Logic Pro. Need your inputs before I purchase it.

Yes you can!
It is as simple as selecting a Region (optional trimming recommended) and choose the Export command.
A Dialog window opens up that lets you enter the metadata
Apple had its separate "Apple Loop Utility" app (now only available in the developer package) that allowed you to create loops in a standalone app. The built-in loop capability in Logic uses part of that engine.

I don't know about that video tutorial but a sitewide persistent menu indicator ('you are here' highlighting) is very simple to do with CSS classes.

You can use Directory Server Console to create new attributes. After adding new attributes to your schema, you must create a new object class to contain them.
Creating object class:
1.Click Create on the Object Classes tab.
2.Enter a unique name for the object class in the Name text box.
3.Enter an object identifier for the new object class in the OID (Optional) text box.
4.Select a parent object for the object class from the Parent drop-down menu.
5.To add an attribute that must be present in entries that use the new object class,highlight the attribute in the Available Attributes list and then click the Add
button to the left of the Required Attributes box.
6.To add an attribute that may be present in entries that use the new object class,highlight the attribute in the Available Attributes list and then click the Add
button to the left of the Allowed Attributes box.
7.To remove an attribute that you previously added, highlight the attribute in the Required Attributes list or the Allowed Attributes list and then click the
