How can I deactivate photostream without letting apple delete "all photostream-fotos from your ipad" ??
It couldn't be, it would be an insolence, really, for a company to delete anything on my devices. I just want to stop streaming from now on because of lack of storage capabilities!! Did I miss something?

Welcome to the Support Communities! You are correct. Before you delete any app from your iPad, you need to save it's documents (data).

For App Store apps that use File Sharing, transfer the files from within your apps to your computer using iTunes.

Under the File Sharing section, you'll find a list of apps currently installed on your iOS device that support File Sharing. Select an app to view a list of the files associated with that app on your iOS device.

Did you enable PhotoStream before iPad was wipe?
I think this would be a great idea to safe guard your photos in the future

You will need to keep them in folder on your hard drive somewhere other than in iTunes or they will be deleted from iTunes if you delete them from the device. I have a folder on my Mac called iPad Pages Documents - very original don't you think!

If your photos are in iPhoto or on your computer, then they are not lost. If you delete them from the iPad you have a major problem. You can check this out: iPad Data Recovery - Undelete & Rescue Lost Files from iPad.

If you connect your iPad to your computer via USB, when it opens on the left hand side of the iTunes screen, click it once to open it. Then click on the Photos tab and uncheck the photos/albums you had synced to your iPad, which you no longer wish to keep there. Then click Apply on the lower right hand side and the photos will be removed.

It sounds like a remote erase was sent via 'Find My Mac', to check please go to www.icloud.com and login. Is there any data there?
If it was a remote erase only someone who had the ID and password could have done it. And in that case the data is gone, it is not recoverable I'm afraid.

Got a new laptop, is there a way to transfer all my music to my new laptop without having to delete all my music from my iphone

i got a new laptop. I used to hae a PC and then got a Mac. my old laptop crashed and I had so much music on it. So when I plugged my iphone into my Mac I was able to put my purchased music on my iphone but nothing else. Some how my old laptop worked again so I was able to get my old music on my iphone. But when i went to plug my iphone into my new Mac it said I have to delete all of my old music off my iphone or i will not be able to transfer any of my new music from my mac. Any one know what i can do ?

I know what my password should be but when I made it I guess I put it in wrong. so basically, I don't know my password. For more secure reason, I'd suggest to double check whether the data is removed cleanly with Erase All Content and Settings. The data is still recoverable as my pass experience. And no all devices are capable of using this method. Privacy is much more important. I highly recommend this method instead to permanently delete everything on your iPad by overwriting random digits to existing data. And there is no chance to get those data back.

This must be done from your computer...
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Click Apply
Or... once copied to the PC, use the ipad to delete individual photos.

Weird message 'delete ALL stored messages from your phone!'

This randomly just came up and doesn't seem like an apple thing. Can anyone explain?

My girlfriend had the same today. (Pic below)
The phone showed 7.5GB of free space.
This lead me to believe that the message was not an Apple message (also just based on the look and poor format of the message)
She mentioned that this has happened once before.
We noted that the "Dismiss" button did not actually do anything and the we had to shut down and restart it.
She is also with the same carrier.
This leads me to believe that messages are from the carrier.
Maybe the messages on the server are not being deleted or something of that nature.
I might post on other local 'famous washing machine brand' forums and see if they have any ideas.
