Can I delete artwork icon in my ipod display?

I have an ipod classic 160 GB (6G). I do not wish to see the artwork icon in my display. I've deleted all my songs' artwork in my iTunes, but the music note icon of course remains on my ipod display. I use my ipod for teaching dance classes, and I'm only interested in viewing the text: song name, artist, etc., the way my old ipod photo (4G) displayed information, without the artwork icon. Is that possible?

Sorry, but it is not a feature of the iPod.

  • How can I delete Duplicated icon from the dashboar

Please can someone help me : How do I  delete duplicated icon from dashboard, like the  Safari Icon and System Preference, and remain witht only one of each, that keeps working?  Thank you

Well, Aleksdev and Paul_31, you helped me a lot, , thank you so much.
    Let me tell what worked.
I went to the dock and deleted the good Safari and System icons, then I draged the ones on the dashboard to the trash.
Then I restarted,  and they were no more either on the dock nor on dashboard.
To put the safari icon back to the dock, I had to go Applications and drag the Safari Icon back to the dock. It worked, but with the icon for System Preferences, it did nit work this way.
But never mind the important is that Safari icon stays always at the dock .
So, one more time, guys thank you so much for the help.
Maybe I'll be asking some more questions in the future, if you don't mind. I'm not an I-MAC specialist. I'm new on Apple world.
    Best regards!

I have an iPod Touch 5th Gen and there are 3 songs in my Music that I can not delete. When I go to iTunes on my computer the three songs do not show up! WHY?

    Try:

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • I tried rebooting, still can't delete unwanted icons

Still can't delete unwanted apps or bookmarks.  Started yesterday when I updating iPad to PC.  Frustrating to all of a sudden have this issue

You do realize that you cannot delete the preinstalled apps?
If you have restrictions turned on - you may have disabled the deleting of apps as well. Settings>General>Restrictions>deleting apps>Off.
BTW ... You do realize that you don't have to start another discussion either - don't you?

  • Can't delete artwork

I pasted an album cover cover to a song that is corrpted and won't go away when I delete it. Any sugguestions?
    JJ Rogers

I'm also experiencing this -- and many other -- artwork-related problems in the latest update. There are multiple threads about them, including copy/paste not working, viewing multiple artwork covers not working, and this problem of not being able to delete artwork.
My solution to this problem was to use Time Machine, and replace the song's file with an older copy, and then I'm able to delete the artwork, and add new. In the latest version, it's easy to "corrupt" a song's file, just by adding/updating artwork. Using Time Machine is the only way I've been able to fix problem songs. Very annoying.

  • How can I delete artwork?

I would like to find a way to delete album artwork from a file. I've converted many of my CDs into iTunes and have attached artwork that I've located on the web. Sometimes the artwork I initially selected wasn't the same as my actual CD covers but I added what I could find. When I later find the correct artwork for a CD and add it to iTunes, both copies of the artwork are stored. I'd like to delete the former version and retain only the correct version. It appears there is no mechanism to delete artwork once it's loaded into iTunes unless you delete the entire file, re-import it into iTunes and then add the correct artwork. That's quite time consuming and there should be a more straight forward means.

If you just drop art onto the panel beneath the playlists, any images you drop get added to the existing artwork in the selected files. If, however, you use the "Get Info" dialog on a group of files then the art you paste in replaces any & all existing artwork. If you simply need to remove all art from a group of tracks, select them, "Get Info", then on the Options tab place a tick against the artwork box and click OK.

  • Can't delete a smart playlist from iPod - why?

    Hi all
I have an 80GB 5th gen ipod and want to delete a playlist from it - even if I uncheck the box it is still there - empty! It has a warning sign next to it on iTunes and it tells me it cannot delete it because it is dependent upon another smart playlist which no longer exists.
It is not a problem - I just want it to go away.
    Can anyone help pls?
Custombuilt; XP SP2; 1.2ghz athlon; 512mb RAM;   Windows XP

I have the same Problem, i have repeatedly wiped and restored my ipod but still can't get them to go away. the only thing i can think of it to go to playlists and only update certan playlists. anyone got any better ideas?

  • Can't delete desktop icons

I'm running Vista.  I loaded a program and then deleted it.  It left two desktop icons.  These two can not be deleted in any of the traditional ways.  When I try to click on them, it says the link is missing.  When I try to drag to recylce bin, it shows a red x.  When I try to right click, does not give the option to delete.  I rebooted in safe mood but that didn't help to get rid of the icons.  I tried to reload the program and then delete but that didn't work either.  Any suggestions??

Good info, but I also have one and tried to find mine in the registry -and it is not there- even using a search/find in any form. I cannot even locate it in the command prompt directory of my desktop -or anywhere else except as an icon on the desktop. It does not even have a file extension, and the system cannot recognize it to delete it. I have tried doing so from the command prompt as well as from the regedit and the system just doesn't seem to "see" it, but it still shows an icon on the desktop anyway. It is a generic Explorer desktop icon and is named CANID0X3 from a manual of a Porter-Cable tool that I own. When I deleted the file this was left behind and was somehow placed on my desktop and it has been there ever since despite my best efforts. I even tried re-installing the manual and deleting it again, but the system doesn't see the file to correct it.
Any suggestions? Doing a re-install of Windows is a little drastic to cure this otherwise benign problem. It just bugs the heck out of me that I can't get rid of the dumb thing!
Any suggestions, insights, or considerations would be very much appreciated. Thx.

  • How can I delete a song on my iPod in iOS 5? It won't unsync!

I have tried numerous times to unsync several songs from my iPod touch (4th gen, iOS 5), but they just won't be removed! It seems to be ones that I synced with over the cloud. Now that I changed back to backing up to my computer instead of the cloud, they were synced by the computer and I now have two copies of the songs. Even if I uncheck them, they don't go away.
    Any help is appreciated!

There are a few way you could do this that do not involved deleting from iTunes. The default iPod setting is automatically update with iTunes when connected. You can keep the automatically update setting and select "automatically update selected playlists only" then all you need to do is remove the song from the chosen playlist(s) and update, it remains in your library should you want to add it in future.
You could also set your iPod to "manually manage songs and playlists" and add or delete whatever you like from it without affecting iTunes
Another way but more difficult to manage is to choose the "Only update checked songs" option in the iPod Preferences. By un-checking a song in iTunes, it will not be updated to the iPod and if already on the iPod, unchecking the song in iTunes will remove it from the iPod during the next update with iTunes.
    For info:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • HT4623 Updated iPad and not can't delete old icons after use

Since I updated the software I can no longer delete the old icon after when I finish using them

Sure, but its the best you learn how to use the terminal. OS X is Unix and the most advanced tasks can't be done in the graphical enviroment:
    1. Open Terminal (You should startet in your "home" directory, this is the default)
    2. Type: mdls /Applications/iTunes.app (This will output a lot of information)
    3. Look for the last keyword "kMDItemVersion", it should show the program version (e.g. "10.7")
    4. From now on what to do depends on the position of the iTunes version you want to delete. If this is the most recent version you will leave this file alone. If this is an older version of iTunes you will want to delete it. So there is a decision to make.
    4a. Leave this file
    or
4b. Delete this file with: rm -r /Applications/iTunes.app (maybe the permissions don't allow this to do, I could not test it)
    5. After that you could use the finder to move your regular iTunes version to your desired position
    6. If you most recent version is in an other directory, e.g. /Applications/Music/iTunes.app, you have to do the steps above with this path
It makes sense to locate first the iTunes version you want to delete. You can get this information with the showed mdls command or with the information dialog of Finder. Click in Finder the particular iTunes icon once, so it is selected, show the information dialog (cmd+i).

  • Can't delete old calendar dates from IPOD

I had two calenders in my microsoft outlook and then i deleted one, and now all the info that was synched to my ipod wont go away. I guessed if it could't find the info that that it would delete it.
Does anyone know how to remove this info cause that dates and events are all meaningless to me know.

I have the same problem. I sync with MS Exchange Server over the air and not through iTunes. But on my iPhone I have 2 calendars, one with a "red" dot and another with an "orange" dot. The orange calendar has no events, but I can't figure out how to delete it.

  • I can't delete the icons of most recently opened apps. Won't wiggle when I tap and hold down the home button.

Why can't I delete my most recently opened apps?  Before IOS7 I could get them to wiggle then close them.

Double tap the home button and swipe upwards on the preview of the App (not the App Icon).
