Can I delete early versions of "Lightroom Database 2 Preview.lrData

Can I delete previous versions of "Lightroom Database-2 Previews.lrData

Thank you, Jim!
Just to clarify--I was puzzled upon first reading your "No".    However, upon reading further, I now will happily delete the old programs. (2.667 GB!).  It was interesting to see the size increase for each one--from 207MB (3.4) to 780MB for 4.4....  The Control Panel (Win7HP) only lists 4.4, so I'll have to delete the old programs up to & including 4.3.
Your quick response was very much appreciated!

I thought I could do the same with my other Adobe program files, but only the CS6 programs are listed.  Does this mean the previous files are automatically deleted when upgrading?

If I upgrade to version PE 13, can I delete earlier versions (PE 8,9,10) to free up more space?

You can uninstall, not delete, if you want to, but they don't take up much room.  There are features on the latest version that are missing from earlier versions.

Can I delete earlier versions of Foxfire startup downloads?

    Christina,
There's really no mystery to uninstalling earlier versions of iWork. Just go to your Applications folder and trash both the iWork '05 and iWork '06 folders. But first make sure you remove any of the documents you may have created with them. It's not necessary to delete any other files.

  • Can I delete earlier versions of Ff?

''Duplicate post, continue here - [/questions/769164]''
    Will this mess up Ff?

The files that were in the \components\ folder in 3,6 and previous versions are in the Firefox 4 program files '''omni.jar''' file from what I have read and have seen. I don't recommend that you remove that file, but from what I have read WinRAR is probably the best program to use to open the omni.jar file. I have used WinRAR to extract the contents of that file to search for code for a different function, but I haven't tried repacking the omni.jar file. I have seen a few postings at MozillaZine where other users have had trouble getting Firefox to work after repacking the omni.jar file after modifying one of the internal files.

  • How can I prevent old version of Lightroom startup

When I startup my Windows XP system my old version of Lightroom -- 1.4.1 -- opens automatically. I use a later version of Lightroom -- 3.4.1. -- and would like neither version to open automatically. How can I achieve this?
    Wendell

    Wendell,
There's a system utility msconfig that (among other things) lets you have some control over what gets run at startup.
You can run it from the "Start/Run..." button.
Hmmm...early versions of Lightroom used to have a separate program that started up with the system and waited for you to insert a card with pictures on it, at which point it would fire up Lightroom. The name was apdproxy.exe . It could be that there's something plugged into a USB port that is triggering that. Removing it from starting by running msconfig, would probably solve your problem. Look for it in the Startup tab.

  • My early version of Lightroom does not run in Windows 8. [was:lightroom]

I have a new laptop which runs windows 8 and my early version of lightroom does n't run

    Hi,
Thanks for replying and sorry I’m not too much into this.  It doesn’t say which version but I assume its the first as I bought it in 2007 saying its made in Ireland.  Number on the disc is 90062864 1/07.  I hope that might help, if this isn’t Windows 8 compatible can it get an upgrade?

  • RMAN can backup/restore diferent versions of Oracle DataBases regardless OS

    Hi,
I am evaluating Recovery Manager to backup and restore Oracle databases.
I have to backup/restore diferents versions of Oracle database, these databases are running in diferents operating systems (AIX, LINUX, Windows)
    For example:
Oracle DataBase 9 in AIX 5.3 system
Oracle DataBase 10 in Lunix system
Oracle DataBase 9 in Windows system
I want to have a single RMAN server in order to backup/restore all my Oracle DataBases, is it possible?
A single RMAN server can backup/restore diferent versions of Oracle DataBases regardless the operating system?
If the answer is yes, do I need to have an specif operting system in my RMAN server? (AIX, Linux, Windows, etc.)
    Thanks for your help;

    Hi,
    Your question:
I want to have a single RMAN server in order to backup/restore all my Oracle DataBases, is it possible?
    Sounds more like a machine.
    If you would have asked:
I want to have a single RMAN recovery catalog in order to backup/restore all my Oracle DataBases, is it possible?
I would have confirmed as like the other two.
Be aware the catalog version needs to be equal or higher as the highest database version.

  • How I can log Sequence File version number to database?

    Hi,
    As in the subject.
How I can log Sequence File version number to database?
There is nothing like that under Logging object.

Do you need it in a separate field in the databse?
One option is to just add it as an additional result in a step in your sequence file.
    RunState.SequenceFile.AsPropertyObjectFile.Version
    Hope this helps,

This is easily one of the most popular requests on this forum.
    Try http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first otherwise the links will not work.

  • Very Large Lightroom Catalog Previews.lrdata File

My Lightroom Catalog Previews.lrdata file is very large, about 12GB; Is this because of my preview settings? I only have about 10,000 photos in my Lightroom catalog and I'm concerned as to how large this file will get as my catalog grows.

I have 129,980 in my lightroom catalog.  The photos go back to January 2000 and are only about 350GB but this previews file is over 116GB.   This seems excessive.
Is the alternative to simply take a moment to build previews when I go to a folder?  Most of my folders are pretty small.

  • Can I recover earlier version of Powerpoint presentation? I accidentally deleted the content and then (DOH!) saved it.

EIGHT hours into a Powerpoint presentation. Wanted to delete the content of a particular slide. Did a "command +A" (select all), hit delete...and then like a complete idiot, saved it, thereby overwriting all of the content. The file itself has not been deleted...now it's just a blank presentation with all content MIA. Previous to this screw up, there were 49 versions. Is there a way I can find the last version before my DEFCON LEVEL: BLONDE moment???

Not unless you have Time Machine running and can recover an older copy from there

  • How to restore a previous version of lightroom database

I messed up and mistakenly removed an image from lightroom ... is there any way to recover that version of the image that was in the lightroom database via a restore process? I've been backing up the database each time I start the program. Thanks.

If you have now found the mislocated database file the simplest method would be to copy and paste it into the location that you really want it. Once in the new location, double click it and LR will open up (as if by magic) or, alternatively, start up LR and point it to this database location. The image that you then accidently removed from LR should show up in Red in the left hand panel and in addition a thumbnail image of your image will appear in the main window with a question mark in the top right hand corner. Click on this question mark and point LR in the direction of where the image is located. All then will be fine and your image will still have any previous edits applied that were contained in the database. The 'preview' file that you found and mentioned in your post contains as you might have guessed - the image previews. This file can be deleted at any time and LR will rebuild it as and when required.
To prevent this happening in the future, select carefully where you want the database backed up to and LR will then always backup to this location unless you change it - which is what I suspect you may have done accidently last time around, hence database backups in two different places.

  • I want to download previous version 3.6 for Mac OS Leopard, 4.0 doesn't work on my config; can't find earlier version download and sadly 4.0 overrode my version then said I couldn't use 4.0, so now I have none!

Foolishly tried to update to 4.0 which, once downloaded said it would not work on my OS, but also overrode my previous version so I deleted the lot thinking I'd start over and download the earlier version, however I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE. What's going on with that? Thanks.

I have PPC - thanks, I'll have a look at that website. I downloaded v3.6.17 but still having a problem - maybe didn't erase fully the previous version and it's getting stuck. I'm going to delete everything and start over as Firefox is my preferred browser.

  • How to uninstall safari 4.0.3 so i can reinstall and earlier version

i removed all traces of safari and when i tried to install an earlier version it would not, citing there was a newer version already installed. it would only install 4.0.3, which does not work. 5 minutes into it and it still would not load anything.
i don't have concierge on my computer, so that isn't the problem
nothing could be more stressful than having my work interrupted because i can't access the internet, lost all my bookmarks trying to get safari to work, and just plain old frustration that my complaint was deleted rather than addressed.
any suggestions other than a clean reinstall or something else that drastic would be appreciated.
meanwhile, i'm digging Firefox for the first time. it works.

I have been on this forum for the past 8 years. do you really think that I have not already done a search? oh please...don't go there.
i repaired permissions. i did all that.
i have done everything necessary. after 5 minutes of loading and loading and loading and still nothing being loaded, i gave up. after deleting every trace of safari and still there being something on the harddrive that is being identified as the more recent version (4.0.3) and not finding that remnent anywhere, i can't reinstall an earlier version. and reinstalling 4.0.3 didn't improve the situation at all.
what did improve my ability to get on any website really fast and come here to moan and groan that my day was ruined was thank god there is Opera! It's fast, it's easy to use and it zooms great. so until i get a better answer than no answer at all, i'll use Opera.
if i sound bitter, so what. this is my 2nd mac, your first apparently.
I am running 10.4.11....not 10.5 which you have and the removal of concierge, which is NOT even on my computer would not fix the problem that may have worked for you. i don't need your condescending flippant remark as a fix. lets see how calmly composed you are when doodoo flies with a bum update or whatever. you'll learn. but thanks anyway.
