Can I delete the iCloud account an create a new one?

My dad has kindly passed his ipad on to me but his icloud account is still on it, if i press the "delete account" button will it delete the account and let me create a new one, also will it delete all the files, photos and such like data that is on the ipad?

When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to this new account.
This will not move your photo stream, however. If you have photos in photo stream that you haven't backed up anywhere else you will need to save these before deleting the account. If your computer is syncing with your iCloud account, your can photo stream photos directly to your computer. If not, open your photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap the share arrow button, then tap Save to Camera Roll. Once in the camera roll you can import them to your computer.

I've got a problem with my current account itunes (french) :
I'm between France and Spain. I usaully use french applications but I would like to be able to pick some apps in the spanish itunes store, and in the english one (such as i already do in the french one). Lately I change my payment data to my spanish visa card data, since then I cannot download any app anymore.
So I tried to create a new account in the itunes store choosing the spanish location, but it s not possible since my actual email adress is the back up email adress of my french account .
Can you please provide me some support ?

If you are trying to delete an old iCloud account in order to sign in with an updated ID, and if the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going tohttps://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use yourcurrent password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.comand change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Not photos, just data synced with iCloud shown in Settings>iCloud. If you don't have sufficient storage to back up to iCloud, back up to your computer instead using iTunes (connect you phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to ths Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now). Also transfer your purchases to your iTunes library (connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases). If you have photo stream photos older than 30 days tha you wan to save, save these to your camera roll before backing up (tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward facing arrow, then tap Save to Camera Roll).
When setting up your new phone, when given the option choose Restore from iTunes Backup and restore the backup you made earlier.

You can't delete an account, you can only stop using it. If you're getting that error message you won't be able to create a new account on your device. Your only options are to re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account on a different iOS device or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.

You can go to icloud.com, open Mail, click on the gear shaped icon on the upper right and choose preferences, go to the Vacation tab and set up an auto response saying that the account is no longer in use. Then go to Settings>iCloud and turn Mail to Off on your device and stop using the account.
Incoming email to the account will receive your vacation auto response, and eventually the mailbox will fill up and no longer receive mail at all.

You have to sign out of the old one and then sign back in with the new one. On an iOS device it's Settings>iCloud and click 'Delete account' (this will not delete the account from the server, just disengage the device from it). On a Mac it's System Preferences>iCloud and click 'Sign out'.

Apple ID's email somehow changed to my sister's email. she doesn't know the password to it so i can't delete the icloud account

My apple ID is my dads email as my whole family uses it. for the Icloud account (which we don't use but want to delete) the email somehow changed to my sisters email. I want to delete the account but can't as 'find my iphone' needs to be turned off. no-one knows the password so i can't turn off 'find my iphone' and delete the account. I've tried resetting the password but no email was sent to my sisters email regarding resetting the password, i think it's because her email isn't an apple ID but i have no clue. i went to the apple store last week and the genius somehow deleted it. i backed up my phone with my apple account on icloud as i couldn't do it on my computer. i got a new phone yesterday and icloud has logged onto my sisters email but with no password. i need to delete her account so i can put mine on and restore my phone.

Got a new iPhone and had to skip the part of establishing an icloud account till later, cause I was having internet trouble, so it asked me to continue and go back later, then I saw that as I went into icloud in settings later that it is asking for me to creat another Apple ID if I want to set up an icloud account or use one I have for me? Very confusing and not very user friendly. What options do I have? Must I have an a new Apple ID to open an icloud account. I already have an iTunes account that is associated with my iphone and my mac and my AppleID.
My daughter is the one I want to set up an icloud account for so she can back up to it and to use the other features, but I dont want her items to be backed up on my icloud account. The issue is that I don't want her to be able to have her own iTunes account to make purchases, as she is too young, I will need to monitor them for a couple of years yet. I am not sure what to make up of the set up process. The set up instructions are telling me that for that phone to get a new icloud account, I must create a new Apple ID for it or use an existing one. The problem with creating a new one, is she will then be able to set up her own iTunes and appstore accounts and make her own unsupervised purchase I believe?
Presently as its setup now using her old iPod touch and now new iPhone, I create her a playlist in my iTunes account and we then sync her ipod touch or phone to it and she can then get those features and apps, photos that we assign to just her phone.
