Can I delete the mails in my gmail for Mail...?
When I empty the trash in Mail the mails stay in my gmail. Can I somehow delete the same mails as a delete in Mail in my gmail?

There are two types of configuration for gmail when using it with another email client such as Leopard Mail for example. POP and IMAP. With POP, you will have to repeat the same actions in gmail on your browser and in Leopard Mail to have the same exact mailboxes contents. With IMAP you get a synchronization of your actions, so if you delete an email in gmail on your browser, then that will be reflected in your gmail mail account in Leopard Mail.
Hence, asusming you have a POP account set up in Leopard Mail, the suggestion is for you to set up your account as IMAP. That way emails you trash in Leopard Mail will indeed be trashed in gmail when viewed on your browser.

I've decided I want to take the plunge and leave Gmail for Mail, using my iCloud account. Why? I have my own set of pre-defined Gmail keyboard shortcuts. Do I just need to tough it out and learn the Mail shortcuts, or is there a good, free/inexpensive app for adding shortcuts to Mail? And no, I don't mean through SysPrefs (I know how to do that ). I mean Gmail style single-letter shortcuts, like 'r' for reply.

Papa Bear1: Smart folders won't sync between devices. But you can create regular mailbox folders under the icloud imap folder or at the icloud website which will stay synced.
2: The best way I see to do the labels is to create the gmail account in Mail. Set it to show those labels in imap in the labels setting section at the gmail website. All your gmail folders will appear under gmail's imap folder in Mail's sidebar. Then you will have options to export or just move the messages from one mailbox to another. I think I would just create a new mailbox under iCloud, then select all the messages from one gmail folder and right click to move the messages to the iCloud folder. Seems it would be the easiest way.
3: I don't think it is possible to transfer your rules from gmail to Mail. Rules should be very carefully constructed in Mail paying much consideration to the order they are placed. Simplify it as best you can and test it. In Mail, rules only will apply to incoming messages which may be different than what gmail does.
4: iCloud does not have the option to send other email addresses and retain their identity like gmail does. Best I can say on that is to create the accounts of the other addresses in Mail seperately with their own SMTP servers to send from.
5: No comment.
6:You can go to the gmail website and export your contacts.
Or, open up the AB on the computer and go to preferences. Open the Accounts tab. Select On My Mac in the list and check the box to sync Google contacts. Put your google sign in and password. Your Google contacts should be created on the computer. You can then select all the contacts in google and drag them to iCloud to add them. Once done, deselect the google contact syncing. -

I use Entourage as Mail sender. I don't use the adress book.
When I tip a wrong adress and make the correction, the old one stays in the memory of my computer ( apple I Mac ).
When I wish to send a new message to the same adress, the wrong one appears in the same time , and some time I don't remember wich is the good one .

I can highly recommend migrating to the Address Book. You won't have the typo'ed history in your email.

All apps include DRM protection that is tied to the Apple ID that was used to download the apps.
This means the apps that need an update were downloaded with the Apple ID you are being prompted for. -

Mail closes when I attempt to read or delete messages
I can't open the Settings. It opens for a sec and then closes. any ideasFirst try to reset your device by holding the home and power button for about 30 seconds until you see a silver apple, after that let go of the buttons and let your device start up normally. This will not remove any settings or information from your device.

You can turn that feature off in Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Contacts>Show in App Switcher>Recents>Off.

Yes you can delete the expired certificate which are showing as it is not functional anymore and they remain as stale entries

When you update, delete and reinstall your profile is kept and only program-files are deleted / replaced. All your prefs , account details, mail, folders and add-ons are intact.

Yes, but be sure she is on a separate iCloud account with a separate ID before deleting anything. Be sure there is nothing that you want to keep on your device too. When you delete the data from iCloud it will be deleted from all devices signed into the account. Then you can delete the data from the existing account by doing the following:
To delete the contacts, go to iCloud.com from your computer, log into your iCloud account and open Contacts, click on All Contacts on the left, to the right click on any single contact to select it, click on the Actions (gear shaped) icon at the bottom left and choose Select All, then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
For Calendars, open the calendar on icloud.com, click Edit on the bottom left, then tap the minus sign to the right of each calendar to delete it.
For Notes, open notes on icloud.com, click on each note on the left, then click Delete at the top to delete it.
For Reminders, open reminders on icloud.com, click on each reminder and press your Delete key to delete it.

Your appleid can be any email address you want, its the e-mail BEHIND it that matters. So if you dont have your verizon email address anymore that should still be ok. Goto http://appleid.apple.com/ and click on manage account, login to your OLD WORKING appleid, and change your email to match your new email address

My startup disk is full. Can I delete 16,255 Google RSS feeds in Mail screen?
I began to investigate all avenues to free up my startup disk space. This included deleting photos, movies, downloads, emptying trash, etc. I saved 15.87 GB out of the original 500 GB Mac hard drive. (By the way, everything was backed up to an external 1 TB hard drive). At best, deleting more photos may save me another 5 GB of HDD. Still a drop in the bucket. I then noticed that in my mail screen I have 16,255 Google RSS feeds. I only have 162 Apple Hot and the 16,255 Google RSS feeds. Can I delete the Google feeds and thereby free up disk space by doing that? I still want to use Google and not lose it permanently. Will it work?
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive

2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.

You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located. -
I'm able to use the new one even tho the old one is there? But can't delete the old one because it's frayed out n can't tap on it to change it to the new one
You will need to use that old Apple ID and password to update any apps you purchased using that account. So you will either need to recover that Apple ID, which if you forgot the password you should be able to reset here:

or you will need to delete all those apps and repurchase them using your current Apple ID.

At the present time, the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as new. Perhaps a future iOS update will give us the option to clear that cache.
