Can I delete what is on my activity window?

I am trying to download something from youtube and understand that I have to pust cmd/options/a to see what is active, but for some reason there is no activity? Can I delete what is already on thewre just incase i cannot see it there?
Dose this make sence?

Downloading from youtube with what? Normally you view youtube videos. Yes, there are a lot of (youtube) flash video downloaders "out there" so you need to be more specific with what you are using.

Can I delete what appears to be a duplicate printer?

I have a Lexmark Optra E312 (old-yes-but as rugged and reliable as a Sherman Tank). This worked fine with my G-4 and iSight G-5, (outlasting both of those Macs), but when I got the late 2009 iMac G5 (3.06 GHz) with Snow Leopard (since the iSight G5 which was running 10.4.11 died), I had to update the E312 drivers.
I went to the Lexmark downloads page and downloaded 10.6 drivers with no apparent problems, except the following anomaly.
I now see two Lexmarks listed in System Preferences Print and Fax, Lexmark Optra E312 and Lexmark Optra E312-1. Both have the same properties, driver update numbers are the same.
So, I think I can safely delete what appears to be the second one. Is my assumption accurate?
Assuming I can safely delete it, do I need to do anything besides open "Print and Fax", select the one I'm going to delete and then hit the minus button below the list of Printers, Fax, and Scanners?

Yes, though before deleting the "-1" printer, I would make sure that both printers print. I am guessing that the "-1" was auto-added after downloading the 10.6 drivers.

My trash in iPhoto has no thumbnails in it, however, it says it has over 31k photos. I had over 67K, but "put back" what thumbnails I could see in order to move them over in smaller groups to delete. How can I delete what isn't there?

How can I delete from iPhoto photos that are not in a thumbnail? Also, I have been deleting these for over a year assuming that they were being deleted when I put them in the trash. You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

What happened to the Activity window in Safari?

In Safari 6 in preferences you navigate to the advanced menu and click on the "Show develop menu in menu bar" and you should be able to see much of what is in the page. It certainly is not what we are used to and there are certainly a number of strange changes i am not sure developers have tested on the average user before implementing.

Can't delete songs from library on iTunes9 Windows

I follow the directions for deleting songs from the library but nothing happens when I press delete button. I highlight the song and press delete but don't get the next option of whether to delete it from the computer or not. Nothing happens. Any tips?

The reason I belabor this point, is that if you're looking at your main collection of music from the iTunes app, hitting the delete button (or right-clicking and select "Delete") should work fine. But if you're working with a smart playlist, you cannot just delete, because presence in the playlist is controlled by rules, not by adding or deleting files from the playlist. How can I isolate what's causing my current window to lose focus?

The window I currently have open, (no matter what app I have open,) is constantly losing focus. Like it just did.... I can be in the middle of typing and the system will suddenly give me the alert notification sound for every character I enter, because the focus has gone somewhere else. I can't continue typing until I click back in the current window and return focus. I've downloaded so many "clean it" programs and removed so much stuff it's not funny. Dammit, it just did it again. I searched blogs and forums and found lots of folks with the same problem and the replies have been along the lines of removing this program or that program. It happens when people just start typing. It happens after 15 seconds; it happens when both one program and another are open at the same time. Remove Hyperspace or Adobe Air or...
I could go over everything I've done to try and fix this myself, but I'm really hoping there's someone out there who can just explain to me how to set up my machine so I can capture whatever it is that's causing this. Then with any luck I can find a fix for it somewhere.
My frustration is so high, I'm about to turn this thing off and go back to using my windoze box. UGH!

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.) Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

CS4 - can't delete files/folders - doesn't match windows directory but works fine in DW8

When I delete files/folders in CS4 the deletion is not reflected in my local windows directory.
And if I exit CSW and reload CS4 all the files and folders are back again.
I have never used cloaking but ran uncloak all with no result.
But all this workd fine in DW8.
Any thoughts?

Oh... well this is interesting... disk utility is say that it IS formatted MS-DOS (FAT32). Is that what's causing these errors? This thing has been running with my mac beautifully for years. So do I pull my stuff off, wipe it and reformat it for a mac? Or since it is FAT 32 can I hook it up to a windows computer and fix the problem? Since I had the wrong format, I can delete the files but if I don't fix the format this will keep happening?

Should I (and can I) delete Program Files (x86) folder in Windows 7?

I installed Windows 7 32 bit over a Windows Vista 64 bit computer. I had to reinstall all applications (Office, etc.) and they were installed in the new folder 'Program files'. Can I just delete the old 'Program Files (X86)' folder? Should I do that? Thanks in advance.

It is impossible to upgrade a 64-bit operating system to a 32-bit operating system, no matter it is an OEM disk or not.
Windows 7 32-bit does not include the “Program Files (x86)” folder. Only the 64-bit operating systems have it. In this case, the 64-bie operating system is Windows Vista 64-bit.
In addition, if you performed a Clean Install for Windows 7 32-bit on the old system (Windows Vista 64-bit) partition, the old system files should be saved in C:\Windows.old folder.
So, Folk70, did you perform a Clean Install for Windows 7 32-bit on another hard disk drive? After logging into Windows 7 32-bit, then you found the “Program Files (x86)” folder in the Windows Vista 64-bit system partition?
If not, would you please upload the following information to SkyDrive and provide us the link for analyzing?

Can't delete any of Apple's Software Windows Vista 32 bit

Hi all,
a while ago I tried to update iTunes because it could no longer recognize my iPhone.
Everytime I tried too, my computer crashed within a minute. Now I tried to delete iTunes and the same thing happens. Then I tried to delete any of the other Apple software like Safari, Quicktime etc and the same thing happens. Whenever I try to remove or instal any other software I have no problem at all.
I currently have 10.7.0.21 installed concerning iTunes.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem because it is driving me crazy and it is hurting my business.

Apple directly does not respond, but there is a new team here " apple specialists" they Suppose to respond to questions un answered for more then 24/48 hours. Unfortunately it may look to them as you have answered your own question, so you may be out of luck on that. Me personally in situation like yours use that utility to uninstall.

Yes, You can delete the contents of changle log table but not the contents of new data and active data table.
Before deleting the change log data you have to make sure that the requests are not required for further delta extraction or for reconstruction purpose.
Steps
1. Goto Manage screen of your ods
2. Click on Environment tab and select the option " Delete change log data".
Adv:
To free up the disk space.
Assign points if it is useful for u.

How can I get Expose to show only and all active windows, regardless of app

Sometimes I have two applications running with several finder windows hidden on the dock. I'd like to know how I can (or if I can) get Expose to show only the Active windows - not the ones on the dock. With this new upgrade, it seems that all open windows that are on the dock appear in a row at the bottom of the screen, which takes up real estate - can I turn that function off so just the open, undocked windows of all apps show?

Sounds like you opened a message in a new window. Have you tried closing that window and see what happens?
If that is not it maybe you can post a screen shot of what you are seeing.

Can't Delete Contacts

I have a 30g Fifth generation Ipod. I cannot delete the contacts. Under the "Contacts" tab I have unchecked the "sync from" bubble and re-synced. Still the contacts are there. I have tried "Enabling Disk Use", gone into the control panel, pulled up the drive the ipod is plugged into, and opened the contacts folder. In the contacts folder, I do not have a 4th folder which contains any contacts. So there is no folder there to delete. Also, the contacts on my ipod are each on there twice. How can I delete them?

Can't find a way to delete Templates from the "My Templates" window in Pages.

How can I delete Templates from the "My Templates" window in Pages?

If you want to delete user-made templates, go to ~/Library/Application Support/iWork/Pages/Templates and you'll find the individual files that you can just delete.
If you want to delete iWork's own templates, that's a bit trickier. Right-click (or Control-Click) on the Pages application, choose Show Contents. Drill down to Resources and Templates and there they are. I'm not sure I'd delete anything from the application package, however, so my advice would be to copy the app and try it on that to make sure it doesn't foul anything else up.

Firefox V33.0 can't find user profile and cant view window content

I have used Firefox since the old days, wayyy back. Never an issue, always worked, always performed.
My Firefox (v32 I believe), automatically downloaded and applied the v33 browser and immediately, everything went wrong...
First, the browser loaded but the screen was either sheet black or sheet white, then reloading (after closing the window) was informed (only via the window title as all else was block black) that Firefox couldn't see a user profile.
I loaded FF with safe mode and disabled everything (list of addons at the bottom of this post), and the browser loads now and I can see content, but then after only a minute in "safe mode" firefox persistently returned with either a fatal crash or a sudden inability to find the user profile (causing exit).
Reading up about possible workarounds, I eventually managed to export the Profile data (to desktop), to clear the profile data and replace data with desktop copy. Clearing the data took several attempts due to firefox display only showing black or white as stated above, but firefox then couldn't "import" profile as I can't see whats going on in the window.
Eventually manually installed profile data (from desktop automatic copy) to firefox but FF still persisted in crashing to desktop and not displaying correctly if not in Safe mode. I eventually uninstalled firefox and reinstalled from scratch. The reinstall persisted with all the above mentioned issues, I did manually reinstate the FF user profile and crashing to desktop is now rare but does still happen, now it usually happens when Firefox is not the current active window.
Firefox still does not display correctly unless in the "Safe Mode".
Any clues or help or suggestion about why this would happen? Any way I can revert to version 32?

P.S>As additional info: I have tried the "reset firefox" but this caused numerous little bugs with saving the profile user data. Also reseting did not fix any of the issues.
Everything else on my computer works fine. No virus, no malware (Eset / MWBytes) all other programs fine, and FF was fine until V33!!
