Can I design a digital magazine with CS2?

I am for the moment using InDesign CS2 and I need to design a digital magazine. It will be uploaded onto the App Store to be viewed on tablets etc. I have seen many videos on how it's done on newer versions, but I need to know if it can be done on CS2 and if so are there any tips I could use?

Hi, I would like to know the best way to upload a paper magazine in Adobe DPS with a good resolution.

So i have a paper magazine and i want digitalize it... i make JPG for every page and i put its in my indesign file.
I make a PDF 2048x1536 folio and i upload my magazine.
But when i zoom it on my ipad the resolution is very bad!!

You can turn off page zoom when you build the iOS app. It's under Advanced Options in the App Details page.
When I create SD and HD PNG renditions for the iPad, I prefer importing the same 1024x768 InDesign files into both the SD and HD folios. Using that approach, you need to be careful with pan and zoom images, but the other overlays work nicely. You can use different assets either by creating different layers (in which case you need to switch between the SD and HD layer whenever you create/import) or use different source files. I use different source files because it's too easy for me to forget to show/hide layers.

I can't open the digital booklet with my album!

I had an album an album on pre-order that was released yesterady. I download it, notice I receive a bonus digital booklet and Adobe Reader can't open it!
And it costs money to call iTunes support? I think that's pretty low... Any suggesstions?

Nevermind, I found the answer. I went to View>Show Downloads and there was one download available for the digital booklet.

Can't create a digital signature with acrobat 8

We have acrobat 8. My husband has a digital signature but when I try to electronically sign, his digital signature pops up and does not give me the option to create my own. How can I create my own digital signature on this software?

I don't have Acrobat 8, but in Acrobat 7 & 9 it's under "Advanced > Security Settings", which prings up a window where you can add a digital ID.

Can any MacBook Air owners help with CS2 installation?

I had the old Photoshop CS2 disk installed on a 2006 MacBookPro, which crashed before I could deactivate, etc. Bought a 2013 MacBook Air. Hooked it to a disk drive before learning that CS2 disks are obsolete. Contacted Adobe and was provided a download link and new Serial Number instead. Successfully downloaded CS2 from their link to my MacBookAir but keep getting this vague error message when I try to install: The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. I went back to the Help Chat thinking that was "contacting the software manufacturer" but was sent to the Forums instead. I know I have enough storage space available. I wish the error code was specific, so I'd know what to try... Any tips?

Then there's no way of installing or running CS2 on Yosemite.

Digital Publishing and Interactivity with digital magazine on my own server

Hello... I am researching what would be the best plan of action for my project... need to design a digital magazine for the web that is interactive and has rich media like video, animations, etc.
I am thinking of doing the following... design my animations in Edge Animate that will output html5 friendly animations, then use Indesign to design my master digital magazine like the way I want to with embedded rich media and symbols that have interactivity options.
I am unsure of my next step, or if I am on the right track... should I bring in this Indesign file as a format compatible with Html5, CSS3, Wordpress or what? And use Jquery plugins within the overall structure to add flash like effects.
Any suggestions?

You can try full version for free, after trial period you can subscribe it for as long as you need and then opt-out....
With Add HTML-content tool you can add Adobe Edge project into any page you like, simly zip-package the project and make sure that there´s a file named index.html inside the package.

Building Digital Magazines using InDesignCS4 to FlashCS4

I am a designer using InDesignCS4 to export a 16 page document as a SWF file with a page curl page transition.
I am also exporting a static footer bar that holds a client logo and website address that acts as a hyperlink to the client's website. I currently place these 2 SWF files in Dreamweaver, 16pager above the footer, 1 above the other, and save as .html, upload to an ftp site to get the whole thing to work as a FlippingBook page curl Digital Magazine with static footer bar and hyperlink that directs to the clients website to download the corresponding PDF and print.
Now
I am no Flash developer, but what I would LIKE to do is export from InDesignCS4 as an Adobe Flash CS4 Pro (XFL) document, open up in Flash where I know each spread imports as its own frame, save as a new .fla file, create some great Text effects with actionscript, which I CAN do. But what I can't do is export this as a SWF file AND retain the page curl transition it would have had as a SWF from InDesign??? Is there a way, despite handing over to 'my' Flash developer to encode (according to every video tutorial I have seen on the subject!), where I can 'stitch these page frames together to export my frames from flash with page curl, have the footer bar independently at the bottom, have the whole thing scale as one flash animation but also include some features such as print, zoom and 'goto' page field? At the moment all this appears to be alot of coding work.
Any ideas?

The page curl is certainly just a referenced pre-compiled SWF file, which in theory should make it possible to include in a loadMovie() or similar procedures in Flash. Sounds easy enough to me to copy it from the ID presets to the project folder and include it, I'm just not sure if al lthe variables and parameters it may accept are documented somewhere...

I assume you are talking about Flipping Book Publisher software (www.flippingbook.com). I have done this very easily. In the flipping book software you need to make sure that the sharing feature is enabled and export out the .html file. Once you have exported and you have it installed on your website, click on the sharing button on your flip
catalog software. You can then copy the embed code from this window and paste it into Muse (see attached screen shot).

Can't install Lego Digital Designer

I can't get Lego Digital Designer to install on my MacBook.
When I reach the destination selection screen, my hard drive has a yellow caution sign over it and the window says "Lego Digital Designer cannot be installed on this disk. LDD only tuns [sic] on 10.5.0 or higher.
I'm currently running mac OS 10.6.7
I downloaded installers for versions 3.1.3, 4.1.7, and 4.1.8 of Lego Digital Designer from various websites and they all gave the same error message. I also tried installing it on an external hard drive with the same result.
Any ideas on how I can get this program to install?

It's probably one of those installers that will only work if you let it install in its default locations, most likely /Applications. If it is /Applications, let it do its install then move it where you want to. Odds are pretty good it won't care but I would have to look at the installer itself to be completely sure.

Update after download: Yup, just move it out of /Applications if you want. Should work. I see nothing obvious in the installer to the contrary (no, I did not run the installer).

Photoshop CC designs compatible with CS2 or higher?

I create designs with Photoshop CC which include layers, fonts, clipping masks and graphics (with transparent background). Not complicated at all. But are they 100%compatible with CS2 or higher?

You can't have the cake and eat it. Layered TIFFs share the same limitations like native PSDs, since all that happens is that redundant data is embedded that can be interpreted by PS, but no other program, and different versions of PS will still only be able to handle this stuff based on what features they have. You can of course always rasterize and flatten layers, but I suppose that defeats the purpose of selling templates. In the end, you will have to do your own testing and verification. Going from CC to CS6 might be okay, but going further back is definitely going to result in loss of editability. You simply can't make everyone happy.
