Can I disable Custom Folder Creation option in Admin?

I want to disable the Create Custom Folder option in the Discoverer Admin for some of the Admin users in my environment.
Is this possible?

If your current EUL has 5 BAs, and one group of users uses 3 BAs, and another group uses the other 2, have 2 EULs, and the problem goes away - those with admin privs in one EUL do not get admin privs in the other.
While the trigger is a creative solution, it could be a hassle to maintain depending on how it is implemented. Also, I think modifying the EUL tables violates your support contract.
Separate EULs have shortcomings as well, and may not be implementable in your situation (then again, you asked for suggestions :) ).

I don't think you can, but in the refine edge dialog you can use the contrast setting to get rid of most of the anti-alias.

When I click on Firefox, the page comes up as "work offline" and I have to uncheck this option under "File" before I can get on line. How can I disable this automatic start option "work offline"?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Unable to Create a custom folder in Discoverer Administrator

Hi,
I have a discoverer report which is based on on standard query(Which cant be modified).The requirement is to add a new column to it which doesn't exist in that folder.I can create a custom folder and add the column to the report,but the problem is whenever i create the folder and hit the Validate SQL button it is throwing the error " *The custom SQL entered is not valid SQL statement - ORA-00942: table or view does not exist* "
I have all the privileges for the user and when I am trying to validate the existing queries ,it is throwing the same error .
Discoverer Version - 4 i
Oracle Application - 11.5.9

Hi,
Creating new folders should be done when you are logged on as an application user.
If your application user does not have admin access to the EUL then log on the Disco Admin as the EUL owner and grant full admin privileges to an applications user or responsibility.
Then logon to Disco Admin with that user or responsibility. You should then be able to create and import folders.

Managed Default versus Managed Custom Folder, and Default Folder Type Options

I am looking to create some new managed folders needed for company retention policy.
It seems pretty forward to create the folder:
New-ManagedFolder -Name "[Name Here]" -DefaultFolderType Inbox -Comment "[comments here]" -MustDisplayComment $true
However I have noticed there seems to be two types of folders: Managed Custom and Managed Default. What exactly is the difference.
Also what different default folder type options are there, and what is the different between them?

I actually am using retention tags and retention policies for the existing folders (inbox, deleted, junk/spam, conversation history). Which takes care of most of our actual messages.
However most of the space in a users mail box is take by docs scanned to their emails. These docs are almost instantly moved to file servers, and other databases but sit in the mailboxes for ever. So I was hoping to create a default folder and deploy rules
so that all the scanned items are automatically moved to that folder where they can be deleted per a retention policy tag.
I'm not married to this method but it did seem reasonable in terms of not leaving things to the users to sort items, and would love a better way to accomplish it.
The retention policy says we will keep communications for a maximum x years for users excluding certain document types (junk/spam, voice mails, Instant messages, Scanned docs) and any thing older will be automatically removed, the special documents
will have significantly shorted life spans (1 to 8 weeks).

Since updating Firefox as suggested, when I 'save as' a jpeg, it automatically finds the folder and it's always the wrong folder. How can I disable this feature and go back to the original mode where it remains in the folder I choose until I change it?

For example, I saved a jpeg named 'picasso the guitarist'. I have folders titled A to Z. When I click 'save as' it might open the 'K' folder and I have to manually search the 'P' folder for 'Picasso' and save file. The most irritating thing is, when I 'save as' another jpeg of say 'pieter mother & child' it goes to another folder and does not remain in the 'P' folder, rather it goes to the 'X' folder or some other. This didn't happen before the last upgrade. Can I disable this new 'help' feature that is taking more time than the old version?

Current Firefox versions remember the download directory based upon the URL, so if the URL changes then the default folder may be chosen if there hasn't been selected a download folder before for that server.

Could anybody help me in solving this problem while creating a Custom Folder in Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition ?
My Requirement is :
I Connect to EUL_US/EUL_US@<HOST_STRING> under Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition.
I selected a Pre-Defined Business Area Eg. General Ledger
There i created a Custom Folder by Name Test Custom Folder
The Query which i used in my Custom Folder is
SELECT NAME FROM GL.GL_JE_BATCHES
When i Used this Query it says Table or view does not exist.
The Folder is getting created but without a Query.
I am not able to preceed further.
Any Help would be appreciated

Hi Nakul, you may be running into a problem with the sql for your custom folder. For some reason Discoverer Admin will allow you to create a custom folder with sql, but then if you change it and it has any advanced sql, i.e. grouping sets, analytic functions etc., you probably receive an error.
An option is to create a view using the same sql and create a folder from the database using this view.

Macs can't write to, nor create folders on, NTFS formatted drives without the use of third-party software.
If you want to maintain the NTFS formatting, try Paragon's NTFS for Mac -> http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/.

We've got a bevy of test phones here and I've been able to see RSS feeds in an Exchange setup using Android (along with other folders) but no Lists that were hooked up using "Connect to Outlook" button from SharePoint.

You are viewing Mobile view of the site into your phone. If you open the same site in normal PC view i.e. the same look which you have in your computer then it will give you an option to connect to outlook.

Thanks for the suggestion but clicking on 'Connect to Outlook' from various phones doesn't seem to work. "This webpage is not available." -- I didn't really expect it to do anything as I think this was meant to be done on a computer. And then
the result is that the documents would be available in Outlook.
And then, my question kicks in: is it possible to see these files that are now in Outlook on a phone that's connected to the Exchange Server.

Custom property not displaying at folder creation or Details screen

Hello everyone
I have created a custom boolean property that I need to have displayed both at folder creation and in the Details screen of a folder after it's created. The property is in the default namespace, and is in the Custom group. I have created a properties file for the label and created the necessary meta data extension. The folder validity pattern is " / " and the Resource Type listed is "normalct" so that it's active for folders only.
Then I went to Property Groups and listed my new property in the Group Items field of the Custom group. The Custom group is a part of "all_groups" so that group is displayed both when a new folder is created in KM and when the Details screen of a folder is displayed.
However, my custom property isn't displaying under the Custom tab when I go to create a new KM folder, nor when I view the Details screen of an existing folder. What configuration am I missing? Do I have to develop a custom property renderer for each new property I need to create? I was hoping I could achieve this result with configuration changes only, but I must be missing something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.

Hi Fallon,
actualy, if you want this property to be displayed only for folders and not for documents, you don't need to specify the resource type for folders. Setting "/" or "/**" for "Folder Validity Patterns" and "" (empty) for "Document Validity Patterns" should be enough.
If you sill experience problems, you have to check all settings, for example with the settings suggested in this <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2654">weblog</a>. If you use the "default" Property Group in the property settings, you don't have to enter the Property ID in a special Property Structure Group that in turn is integrated in the all_groups Property Structure Group.
