Can I disable the phone functions of an old iphone 4 so it can solely be used as an ipod for kids?

I am getting an iphone 4s, and I want to keep my iphone 4 for my 5 year old to use to play games and watch videos while on airplanes.  Is there a way I can keep the iphone 4, disable it as a phone, and simply use it as an ipod?
Best,
Darren

  • I currently sold my iphone 4s to someone else and I think I forgot to delete the icloud on its account. Will the new user of my old iphone be able to download apps and use my money? Apparently, I cannot buy new apps on my ipad.

    Help? Will the new user be able to use my account to buy apps?

    If you did not sign out of your Apple ID in theory the new owner could use your account. However, they would also have to know your password in order to use the account.
    What do you mean by you can't buy apps on your new iPad? That is such a broad statement. You are not signed into your account in Settings>Store? The new owner tried to use the Apple ID and and your account was disabled?
    I would get in touch with the new owner if you have concerns. You will need to work this out somehow. I suppose that you could wipe the device using Find My iPad if it's not too late and all of the conditions for doing so are still in place.

  • I Phone 4S. I am unable to update the software. Evidently my I Mac ( 10.4) will not allow or support the sw update. How can I update  this device? The phone function is not currently working either. HELP ! at t

    I am unable to update my I Phone 4s through I-Tunes. I believe its due to my antiquated  10.4 operating system on my 2005 I Mac. How can I perform the software update. Currently even the phone function will not work . I'm a novice with this device.

    Whatever version of Leopard you purchase, I suggest updating it to 10.5.8 which should have everything you require. To update Leopard download and install Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update. Alternatively, open Software Update and install all the recommended updates. That will include the above updater.

  • Can I disable the wireless functionality and use Ethernet only?

    Can you completely disable the wireless functionality and use the Airport Extreme Base Station as a wired internet router with integrated print server?

    Yes. I do that. I don't use a print server but I was using that port for an HD. My AExpress connected to it is wired also.

  • Can I disable the wireless function on WRT54G???

    I just installed a WRT54G, and I am currently only using the wired portion of this device.  Is there any way to disable the wireless function until I need to use it?
    Thanks,
    Todd

    Look at your router.   I assume the "WLAN" light is on.  If so, proceed:
    Open your web browser and point it to 192.168.1.1.
    Enter your user name (if any) and password.
    This will take you to your router's setup pages.
    Go to the "Wireless" tab, "Basic Wireless Settings"
    Set "Wireless Network Mode" to "Disabled".
    Click on "Save Settings" button, and wait several seconds for the page to refresh.
    Exit your web browser.
    Verify that the "WLAN" light on the front of the router is now off.
    If it is, you are done!

  • Messaging Server 3.x: Is there an option to enable and disable the ETRN function?

    Is there an option in Messaging Server to enable and disable the ETRN function?
    <P>
    Yes. You can add the option for enabling and disabling the ETRN function by
    modifying the code in the file <BR>
    <P>
    <I>server-root</I>
    bin/mail/admin/html/SMTPChannelOptions.html
    <P>
    The original code to be modified will appear as follows:<BR>
    <P>
    <!-- ELEM txt="Allow SMTP command 'EXPN': " -->
    <!-- M_RADIO n="SMTP-Accept/Config/AllowEXPN" v="yes" -->
    Yes
    <!-- M_RADIO n="SMTP-Accept/Config/AllowEXPN" v="no" -->
    No
    <P>
    Modify the code to look like this:<BR>
    <P>
    <!-- ELEM txt="Allow SMTP command 'EXPN': " -->
    <!-- M_RADIO n="SMTP-Accept/Config/AllowEXPN" v="yes" -->
    Yes
    <!-- M_RADIO n="SMTP-Accept/Config/AllowEXPN" v="no" -->
    No
    <!-- ELEM txt="Allow SMTP command 'ETRN': " -->
    <!-- M_RADIO n="SMTP-Accept/Config/AllowETRN" v="yes" -->
    Yes
    <!-- M_RADIO n="SMTP-Accept/Config/AllowETRN" v="no" -->
    No
    <P>
    Making these changes will create an extra option to enable and disable the ETRN
    function on the SMTP Options page in the Administration Server.

    Yes, this is possible. In Cisco Webex Administration->Settings->Audio you can choose your audio (system-wide) options:
    WebEx Audio:
    Call In and Call Me service – Enables users to attend a teleconference by calling specified phone numbers or by receiving a Call Me call from the system.
    Call In – Enables users to attend a teleconference by calling specified phone numbers.
    OFF – Disables all calling features.
    Voice connection using computer

    OFF

  • How to disable the purchase function?

    Anyone know how to disable the purchase function from the ipad2? How to disable and empty the payment credit card inform? If not, is it secure?

    After establishing the Credit Card account (i.e. after you have made purchases), you can remove the credit card information by editing your payment info, choosing "None".

    Two good points, in which case I believe the ethernet port can be disabled, (it can on my Pro);
    System Preferences> Network> Ethernet>.........
    Highlight the Ethernet option and click the gear icon at the bottom of the panel. There should be an option to, Make service inactive.....

  • Is there a way to disable the passcode function?

    hello, I work at a school, in the IT department. one of my jobs is to manage all the ipads.
    I have a lot of ipads that students use. some students like to make a passcode and lock me out.
    is there any way to disable the passcode function?
    thanks,

    No, but what you can do is use the free MDMs at http://www.simplemdm.com/ or http://www.meraki.com/products/systems-manager/ , enroll your devices, and clear passcodes set by students with the click of a mouse.

  • MSI installation, how to disable the online functions (like Cloud and login)?

    How can I disable the online functions which need a login with the adobe id? I want to do this while I install the Adobe Reader DC with the MSI installer.

    Hi Yannic,
    I can understand your concern, however Document Cloud is a core part of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and Adobe Acrobat DC so it cannot be disabled. If you don't want to use this feature then you don't need to sign in.
    If you really feel that this does not suites your requirement then you can uninstall it & re-install Adobe Reader 11 Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions.
    Let me know if you have any further queries.

    Hi Lawrence,
    Thanks for your prompt response, however I have first seen it now. I have placed an active SIM card in the iPhone turned it off and on. It now says SIM locked, please write access code. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas? I see you are from the NYC area.... used to work there back in the early 90´   Those were good days..... What a City

    Did you transfer the telephone number from the old phone to the new phone?  If you did, I don't see how you could still have cellular service, even if you turned it off in settings.

    Are you sure?  I have other devices at home.  The only way I can make them disappear on the tracking list is by turning off location or resetting to factory settings.
    I just want to make sure I'm not tracking a phantom that I will never recover :-(
