Can I disable These In My Task Scheduler?

Could someone tell me what these are in my task scheduler and if I need to them or can I disable them?
PCDEventLauncher -- On event -Log:Application, SourceC-Doctor Launcher, EventID:1
PCDoctorBackGroundMonitorTask -- At 10:00AM on day 5 of Jan, Feb, Mar, April etc
PMTask -- When Computer is idle
SystemToolsDailyTest -- At 10:00 AM every day User Feed Synchronization -- At 4:37PM every day
I have a T400 with Windows 7 Home Premium Thanks

Hi,
PCDEventLauncher -> this is the PC Doctor file, which is used by ThinkVantage Toolbox. So in case you don't want to use any feature of the Toolbox, then you you can just disable this one
PCDoctorBackGroundMonitorTask -> this is a monitoring part of the Toolbox and is mostly responsible for the automatical/scheduled system monitoring.
PMTask -> This is usually application, that is responsible for the lowering of the display brightnes, when you configure Power Manager so. In case you dissable this option, then this service/job is not needed to run
SystemToolsDailyTest -> this is relative to the "PCDoctorBackGroundMonitorTask" as this is also responsible to the automatical/scheduled system monitoring. So once you disable this one, make sure, that also the second one will be disabled (or vice versa)
In case this helps, please mark this thread as closed.

  • How can I use MS Windows 7 Task Scheduler to start Cisco Jabber?

    Hello Jabber community,
I have a need to automatically start Cisco Jabber client on my Desktop and have it connect to a SIP address of our CTX, then followed by the running of a recording application. The problem is I don't know the Jabber CLI to use to start it up and connect to the SIP address.
Can anyone please advise how to do this?
    cheers,
    -guy

    Hi Guy,
I think you should probably open up a TAC case and get the TAC engineer to walk you through how to deploy Jabber.
When you say "SIP url", I presume you mean the CUPS/Webex server address. This address can be added to Jabber in 3 ways:
    1. Transforming the MSI using the Orca tool.
    2. Using msi install parameters
    3. Entering the value when you run Jabber first.
Using a bat file in conjunction with task scheduler will not work and is not a supported way of doing. The 3 other options are also much easier to implement.
    Thanks,

  • How can I combine these two DAQ tasks???

I am using LabVIEW 11, Windows XP, cDAQ-9174 chassis, two NI-9205 modules.
Please see my code for reference. I am very new so i will accept all suggestions.
I am acquiring 12 volatage signals in a producer/consumer structure giving me a queue of 1-d array of waveform(dbl). Then I am acquiring 12 voltage signals in another loop giving me 2-d array of waveform(dbl).
There is an issue creating the channels. How can I combine these two tasks?
    Thanks,

    Hello chrisbe723,
When you say that there is an issue creating the channels, are you getting a specific error message when running your code? Also are you referencing the same set of channels for the two DAQ task you are configuring?

  • Can I disable these colors?

I'm tired of all the orange or yellow coloring my email message titles when they come in and some of them after weeks. I can never quite know where I am on the page and don't want to accidently delete the wrong emails. Is there any way to just see the list without the colors? Boy, I hope so!

Now this is a start. Thank you. I went to Preferences and the yellowish-orange was selected under "Colors" so I unselected it. But now some of the titles are in a light brown and all the others are black. Two emails from the same person show one is brown and the other black. Do you have any other suggestions?

  • Mmc and task scheduler

I setup a policy to block the MMC tools I don't want users to have access to but somehow this also blocked task scheduler, my research indicates this is a known problem but I have yet to see a solution.
Any ideas how I can achieve my goal without affect Task scheduler?

    Hi,
Before going further, thanks for providing the link.
It is true that there is no specific policy setting to permit Task Scheduler snap-in. As a result, we can choose to individually disable the snap-ins we want to , or we can refer to the method provided by Cicely Feng in the thread you mentioned to
import a custom adm file to do this.
To create a custom adm file, we can create a txt file, copy the template to this txt file, and then modify the txt file to .adm file.
Regarding how to add a custom adm file to a GPO, the following article can be referred to for more information.

  • SyncToy 2.1 Can't Find NAS Folder When Run From Task Scheduler

I'm using SyncToy 2.1 to keep two WIN7 computers and a Synology DS414j NAS drive in sync. I have several folder pairs configured, some between the two PC's and three between one PC and the NAS drive. I have a task set up for automatic syncing. The problem
is SyncToy can't find the destination folders on the NAS drive if it's run from Task Scheduler. If I run SyncToy manually, everything works fine. I've even tried opening the command prompt and running the exact same program Task Scheduler is running (SyncToyCmd.exe
-R), and it works perfectly. But when Task Scheduler runs the task, it fails to find the NAS folders with the following error message:
SYNC: 08/21/2014 14:12:26:140: *** Failed to execute folder pair Downloads to NAS. Could not locate folder \\DISKSTATION\Downloads\.
I've been looking for days for a solution and have not found anyone with this problem. Any ideas?

    Hi Texxxas,
Apparently the problem is not with SyncToy, it is with Task Scheduler. If you have had Task Scheduler work for you in the past, then I don't have an answer for that. I have never been able to get Task Scheduler to work correctly with SyncToy and a NAS drive.
I have found that for some reason it works with USB external HDD's but will not work with a network connected hard drive. The same bug exists in Win8.1 as well. However, I have since found a third party task scheduler that works perfectly with SyncToy and
my NAS drive. It is called System Scheduler by Splinterware. The free version only works when you are logged in but they have a paid version that runs as a service and will execute without being logged in. This has solved my problem.

  • W7 64 Home: Task Scheduler looking for remote computer, can't defrag.

Needed to defragment HD, went to task scheduler, found that it is looking for a remote computer and options to schedule tasks are grayed out.
The option in the right panel for the local computer was selected (there are no "apply" buttons or such).  Closed Task Scheduler, reopened, found that it is still looking for a remote computer, options to schedule tasks still grayed out.
Logged in as Admin. Not on a network.
    Thank you

In Windows 7, Disk Defragmenter runs at regular intervals when your computer is turned on, so you don't have to remember to run it. It's scheduled to run once a week at an early hour in the morning. However, you can change how often Disk Defragmenter runs,
and at what time of the day.
Open Disk Defragmenter by clicking the Start button .
In the search box, type Disk Defragmenter, and then, in the list of results, click Disk
    Defragmenter.‌  If you're
prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click Configure schedule, and then do one of the following:
To change how often Disk Defragmenter runs, click the menu next to Frequency, and then click Daily, Weekly,
    orMonthly.
If you set the frequency to Weekly or Monthly,
click the menu next to Day to choose the day of the week or month that you want Disk Defragmenter to run.
To change the time of day when Disk Defragmenter runs, click the menu next to Time, and then choose a time.
To change the volumes that are scheduled to be defragmented, click Select disks, and then follow the instructions.
    Click OK.

  • Task Scheduler - Can't Send Email

I can't seem to get the email alert working from Event Viewer on Windows 2008.
From an event, we selected "Attach Task To This Event" from the context menu and completed the wizard which ended up creating a scheduled task.  Unfortunately, when we intentionally offlined a service, it did not trigger an email alert.  The history
of the task showed: 202, Action Failed, Run Failure.  The general tab showed:
Task Scheduler failed to complete task "\Event Viewer Tasks\System_Service Control Manager_7036" , instance "{de23f633-a531-4f21-815e-52630c7fccce}" , action "This is a test.  Spooler Stopped! Test Test" . Additional Data: Error Value: 2147746321.
    What is this 2147746321?
Server is Windows 2008 SP2 (non-R2) and is joined into a domain.  The job is set to run w/out the user having to be logged in, with highest privs and this account is designated as a local admin to that server.  The email is routed thru our Exch
2007 Hub servers.  Unfortunately, the Exch logs showed that the message never even hit Exch.  As a test, from this server, I ran a manual telnet into the Hub on 25, and was able to send a test message from that local host.  So connectivity into
Exch from that server is good.  For good measure, we turned off UAC as well and still the same result.
Has anyone come across this before?
    Thanks,
    -Dave

Any ideas what might be causing this? All servers are in the same domain, firewalls don't seem to be dropping anything, SCCM client is installed, but thats it.
    Appreciate any feedback.

  • I have the purchase order for devices, can Apple disable the activation lock for these I-phones?

We upgraded our business phones, and send the old Iphones to a buyback program. Some of them turned out to be activation lock still ON. We cannot reach the previous users, they no longer work for us. We have the purchase orders for these devices. Can Apple unlock these devices?

I'm not sure but the following should be able to give you an answer: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security
