Can I display classification on thumbnails or pictures?

Hi all,
When I begin classifying pictures in a project and I come back to that project, I'd like to see at a glance which pictures I rated and how much I rated them. However, it looks like I can see those ratings only by hovering over the pictures and wait for contextual info to appear. Displaying pictures depending on their rating also helps but it's not enough.
thanks

Yes you can display the metadata under the image (either in the browser or viewer) What you want to have a look at is View->Metadata Display
There are a ton of options you will need to check out the user manual to see them all, or else you can just poke and prod.
One thing to keep in mind if you go into the customize section (and you probably will to set up to see the metadata you're interested in) the browser view is referred to as grid view, no idea why.
good luck
regards

  • Can I display cations under thumbnails in Organizer?

Is it possible to display captions under the thumbnails in PSE 11 Organizer? If so, how? Thanks.

Captions become visible only when in full zoomed view.
So, no way of doing this in thumbnail view...
However, the Information pane does show caption for the selected thumbnail so that might be a workaround in your case.
    Thanks

My images will not show in the Finder Pictures folders, but just display as jpeg thumbnails.  I have to open each one to see what photo it is.  This has just recently started to happen.

I made sure the 'Show Icon Preview' box was checked.  This is about all I can do, really, Frank, as i don't know enough about the workings of these machines to start fiddling about.
Strangely the images show as previews in some folders, yet not in others, even though they come from the same sources (my camera and my phone).

I have pictures in a folder, how can I display them in name order?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I don't think you can. You might ensure that their creation dates are in order, but I'm not so such that will help. Ordering seems to be a feature limited to use with iPhoto/Aperture.

  • Can Iphoto display the date and time of a pic on the pic?

I know I can get info and see a pics info, but can Iphoto display the date and time of a pic on the pic itself?

Use the Photos->Batch Change menu option to set the Title to Date and Time. That will give you what you want under each thumbnail.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: iPhoto 8's new option in the library rebuild pane, "Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" may make this tip obsolete. We'll know when users have occasion to use it and see if that's the case.

    Hi Ravi,
You can add images into your rtf template using MS Word Insert Picture feature.
    Did you try this method?
    Thanks

  • How can I display and use the full RAW file?

    Hi,
my camera (Canon S95) has a sensor with 4:3 aspect ratio and thus saves all RAW files in this format. Additionally, the camera can automatically create JPGs with a cropped ratio (e.g. 3:2 or 16:9). This is very helpful because you can see the target format already on the camera screen (with black bars on top and bottom), which helps the composition. However, when processing the photos on the big screen afterwards, it often also helps the photo to adjust the ratio a little bit and therefore use the additional information saved in the bigger 4:3 RAW file. This works very well with many of the freely available software tools.
The problem found in Lightroom is now that it only shows the RAW photo in the cropped format and up to know I have found no way to display or use the full RAW format. So my question is: Which settings do I have to change to use the full format? What do I need to change?
Searching a little bit on the web I found many other photographes having the exactly same problem with many different cameras. However none of them reported to have a solution for this. Still I am pretty sure that there must be a solution, since otherwise this would be a really heavy bug within Lightroom and I cannot imagine that Adobe would leave this matter unsolved.
So I would really appreciate if someone could help me with this.
    Many Thanks
    Martin

    Hi Jao, Victoria, Lee Jay,
Thanks for clearification. Do you have additional information about when this fix will be available and whether at least some popular old cameras will be supported?
What I do not get is why Adobe would need to redo all existing cameras. I think this is a more general issue, where Lightroom misinterpretes the exif data which includes both the exif image height/width as well as the cropped image height/width. Intepreting this information correctly, any software should be able to display both - the full image and the cropped area (as shown by many cheap or free software tools). In the internet I found another workaround for the issue in Lightroom, which is undermining this point: When setting the cropped image height/width to the numbers of exif image height/width manually (e.g. with exif tools), Lightroom actually is able to display the full 4:3 picture.
So this bug should be easily fixed for all cameras and I have no clue why Adobe still has no fixed it with Lightroom already available in version 4.2.
    Cheers
    Martin

3)in itunes click advanced...  choose photos to share.
4)this will then share the selected pictures within homesharing
5)view the photos on the ATV by going to menu heading "computer"....  then browse to the pictures folder.

  • Crystal reports in jsp ,the Line chart 's line can't display in jsp?

that is example crystal-reports-10 for Jbuild 2005,
I just modify such in viewreport.jsp:
    <crviewer:viewer displayToolbarRefreshButton="true" isOwnPage="true" displayToolbarCrystalLogo="false" displayToolbar="true" displayToolbarExportButton="true"
    displayToolbarPrintButton="true" displayGroupTree="false" viewerName="worldsales" reportSourceType="reportingComponent" reportSourceVar="<%= path %>"><crviewer:report reportName="<%= path %>"/></crviewer:viewer>
it can't display a Line chart rpt's line and background's picture, and when I press refresh button report a Error "Error finding JNDI name (yhgl)"
    help!!

The jars should be in your installed Crystal Reports folder( \Crystal Decisions\..\java\lib or something like that...). The problem is that your server (Tomcat and others) ignores the system classpath completely (it sets its own in its startup script).
Therefore, in order for Tomcat to find the jars, those jars have to be placed in in %CATALINA_HOME%\common\lib\. There, they will be available for all your applications. If you don't want them available globally, put them in your particular webapp's WEB-INF\lib directory.

  • QuickView, Preview.. etc. Can't Display PSD files

I've been having this problem for some time now - as far back as can remember with OS X.
When I try to view a psd file, (prior to Lep) in Preview or Xee, all I get is the transparent Alpha Channel - ie usually a solid blank neutral gray or checker board white and gray.  And as of Leopard (and Snow Leo), this situation now includes Quickview.  I get no actual image, or sometimes part of an image displayed, but never the full image that is displayed in PS or PSE.
The ONLY exceptions to this problem I have found is an ancient app called ACDSee v1.6.9 (2001) and Quicktime Player.  Both display psd files perfectly.
The preferences to save Image Previews: Always Save, Icon, Full Size, Mac Thumbnail, Windows Thumbnail.
Am I saving psd files wrong somehow so that the default system apps can not display psd files properly?
BTW - this problem is completely consistent on EVERY system I have tried it on regardless of the OS X version (Tiger, Leo, Snow Leo) and Photoshop version (PSE 2, 4, 5, 6; PS 7, CS1, CS2).
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  This is a very irritating problem..
    TIA

This isn't an issue or something you are doing incorrectly, PSD is an Adobe format that is not widely supported.  You need to open it within your Adobe application, such as Photoshop.

  • Can't display Design Studio in IE but can in Chrome

Ok this is going to be REALLY weird, so bear with me.  We have 3 environments for BOBJ; Dev, Qual & Prod.  We are noticing very odd things with regards to displaying Design Studio reports in the various environments depending on what Browser is being used.  See below for what happens.
Dev: Report can be displayed in both IE and Chrome
Prod: Report can be displayed in Chrome, IE returns a cannot display the webpage message
Note I am viewing the same Design Studio report in each environment, so same one in Dev for IE and Chrome, and another one in Prod for IE and Chrome.  Why would Design Studio prevent the report from being viewed in IE but run fine in Chrome, and more importantly (and oddly) why is this environment dependent? This is all on the same machine also.  See picture below for the message I am getting on IE in Prod.  IE version is 10.0.9200.16843.

Ok so I fixed this, I had to go into my IE Settings and go to Advanced and click the Reset Internet Explorer Settings button.  This fixed the issue, but not sure why it happened to begin with and why it was environment dependent.  Another co-worker just had the same issue and had to do the same thing.  This issue seems pretty...prevalent given that we only have a handful of people viewing these reports and already half of them have had the issue. :-/
With regards to Dev vs Prod, Dev is not load balanced/clustered while Prod is.  I disabled friendly HTTP errors in IE and got the same issue.

  • How can I make Finder show thumbnail-sized photos?

I am running OS 10.60 on a Macbook Air. I remember on the Powerbook G4 OS 10.39 I was able to see small thumbnail-sized pictures in the Finder window when I clicked on a photo. I could even run small-sized movies in the Finder window when I clicked on them.
Now I have to wait for Preview to show the picture and it takes a long time. When I am going through a folder full of hundreds of photos to select certain ones it takes forever to go through them all.
How can I get the pictures to show up as thumbnail-sized pictures in Finder?

In the Finder, View menu, show View Options, show icon preview.
For video previews, the minimum icon size is 64 x 64.
There is also always a preview column in column view.
You can use Coverflow view to go through a folder full of image files.
You can Quicklook the image files. Select one and hit space bar. You can navigate through the folder with arrow keys or tab and the Quicklook will change to whatever image is selected.
