Can I do a 10 x 10 custom book with hard cover?

Looking for a custom size solution. I would like to do a square book, 10 x 10, but the "buy book" button is grayed out. Becasue it can't be ordered, presumably. Is that correct, or am I doing something wrong?

You would probably have to create a pdf and take it to a printer for that custom layout.

can I uninstall parallels 5 from a mac book with lion installed

Just to add to the conversation with some helpful information.
Prior to install i was more worried about finding a Quicken replacement than anything (decided on iBank).  I installed Lion and then realized as I was going through my system that Parallel 5 set up for my previous employer.  As suspected, it did not work. So I upgraded Parallels planning to eventually set it up again in the future including reinstalling the version of windows.  When I finally logged on with after the upgrade, all my files, etc. was still there.  Shocking but true.  Double check to see if this occured with any one else.  Good luck.

  • How can I create one pdf from a FrameMaker Book with mixed page sizes.

Looking for an easier way to create one pdf from a FrameMaker book that has files with different pages sizes; letter and tabloid.
So far, I have not been able to find a way to set up the Adobe PDF printer or Distiller to read the page size from the source files in the book and then create one pdf with the appropriate page sizes based on the file sizes in the FrameMaker book. I can create a pdf of the book using a multi-step process where I create a pdf for each page size and then combine them into one file. This is a lot of work.
Is there a way to set the Adobe PDF printer where it reads page size from the source files and then creates one pdf with a mixed page sizes?
Using FrameMaker 7 and 10 and Acrobat X Pro.
    Thanks for any suggestions

  • S_ALR_87012176 - AR,  Customer Evaluation with OI Sorted List

    Hi,
Can someone tell how to read S_ALR_87012176 - Customer Evaluation with OI Sorted List in AR. What do the old, ovd and omt mean.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    This is a standard report.
Enter the Customer range and Company Code.
You can change the open item at key date forward, back or keep it as today.
You then need to make any other selections.
In terms of the output it is determined by the summarization levels. use the Information icon "I" to see the settings.
Lastly you can change the bucket view by changing the days overdue groupings.
    Here is the information:
The program displays the following payment history information:
Sales figures such as annual sales and authorized deductions. This data is available in the system and only issued by this program.
Information on whether the customer is a net payer or a cash discount payer. This information is displayed in the field "Type".
The type of payer is determined by means of the payment volume:
A net payer is a customer who usually exhausts the payment term and does not take any cash discounts.
A cash discount payer is a customer who usually makes use of the cash discount deduction.
Days in arrears. The average days in arrears are determined as follows:
For each of the last five periods in which payments took place, the payment amount from each period is multiplied by the average days in arrears from each period. The results are added together and then divided by the total of the payments from the periods.
The days in arrears are thus weighted with the payment amount.
Last payment period. The period and the year (for example, 5 93) are displayed.
In addition to analyzing payment history, this program evaluates customer open items. It structures the items it selects using a time schedule that you can define as you like, and displays them according to business area.
The criteria you can choose for this analysis are as follows:
Aging schedule for open items by due date for net payment
    Displayed next to "Net"
Calculation: Due date for net payment - key date
Due date forecast using the first cash discount days
    Displayed next to "Dsc"
Calculation: Baseline date for payment + cash discount days 1 - key                                                                   date
Probability of payment based on the weighted incoming payments in the past
    Displayed next to "Pay"
Calculation: Baseline date for pmnt + cash disc.days 1 + average days                                                            in arrears
Days overdue of items that are due
    Displayed next to "Ovd"
Calculation: Key date - due date for net payment
Examples of the open item analysis
The item used in these examples contains the following data:
    Document date   04/01/1992
    Baseline date for payment   04/05/1992
    Terms of payment   8 days 5% / 14 days 2% / 21 days net
    Key date   04/15/1992
The due date for net payment of this item is determined as follows:
Baseline date for payment + net days
The sorted list for this item would appear as follows:
The (*) indicates in which column in the sorted list the item would appear for the different evaluations.
    Due date for net payment
Due date for net payment - key date = number of days until the due                                        date for net payment
    04/26                    - 04/15    = 11 days

    Explanation of column 1:
Items displayed in this column are open but not yet due.
    Explanation of column 6:
Items displayed here have been overdue for 41 or more days.
    Note
The analysis types "Net", "Dsc", "Pay" are a future time frame for forecasting incoming payments. "Ovd" is the time frame for the past for analyzing overdue items.
To estimate the probability of incoming payments, you should always request a sorted list by due date, cash discount days 1, and incoming payments forecast. Normally, the cash discount days 1 due date shows the earliest incoming payment, the latest due date and for the forecast of incoming payments the probable time of the incoming payment.

  • Export Custom Book Settings?

I created a Custom Book with custom page layouts in Aperture 2. How can I transfer this book layout and page layouts to my other iMac? I don't want to have to create everything all over again.
    Kevin

From page 610 of the manual:
You can share your custom themes with other Aperture systems. By default, Aperture saves custom themes in the following location in the Finder:
    /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Aperture2/Book Themes/
To share custom themes with another Aperture system:
Copy the themes you wish to share from the Book Themes folder on the first Aperture system to the same location on the other Aperture system.
The custom themes appear in the Themes dialog when you choose Custom from the
    Book Type pop-up menu.

  • Unable to "Buy Book" after Creating a Custom Book

I just created a custom book with the required minimum number of pages, but the option to "Buy the Book" is not available to me. Is there something else I need to do? I'm pretty new to Aperture. Any help would be appreciated!

I find the custom book feature very very useful in Aperture. To date I have always had books created through a local printer (their quality and binding format is excellent). I build the book in Aperture (custom as I prefer A4 portrait), use the PDF output option and then give the printers the PDFs which they then print to create the book.
I have thought about trying the Apple service but an unsure of the "suede-like" cover and prefer hard back. Might try the soft covers. But anyway, other book printers are happy to take the PDF output (e.g. my local printers, Blurb and probably others).

  • Can't make a workable custom codec with ProRes 422 (HQ)

I've only just now found that there is a Support Community for Compressor.  Wish I'd known sooner.
I see my version of Compressor is 3.5.3.
I've been on a little saga.
I started out with the challenge of converting some MP4 files from a Blackberry Playbook into ProRes 422 (HQ) for editing in Final Cut. I used Compressor and the task looked fairly straight forward. I used the ProRes setting in the Compressor, converted my files and imported them into Final Cut. Video was fine but I soon found out that the audio needed rendering every time I put a clip into the Timeline. I went on-line to various chat rooms with this problem. Pretty soon a fellow was telling me that the ProRes 422 (HQ) setting in Compressor had "Audio Pass-through" as default and that this was the cause of my problem. Change it, he said, to "Linear PCM".
It took me a fair while to figure out that the ProRes setting in Compressor did not allow itself to be modified and that I'd have to create a custom preset if I was to make these changes. I set about to do that. I was able to select "QuickTime Movie" and then in "Video/Settings" choose "ProRes 422 (HQ)", in "Audio", "Linear PCM". This did solve the audio problem. Now files imported into Final Cut did not need rendering. But another problem became evident.
Whereas the ProRes 422 setting that came with Compressor in its summary page listed: "Width" and "Height" as "(100% of source)", the custom ProRes 422 (HQ) setting I'd just created has "Width" and "Height" as "320" and "240". In short the 19:9 aspect ratio of the original footage was lost. What I got both in the conversion and in Final Cut was a squished SD image.
I've played like heck with Compressor trying to see if there was some place I could get this custom version of ProRes to correspond to the aspect ratio seen in the Audio Pass-through version that came loaded in Compressor. No luck. All very mysterious.
My next step was to look to create another custom codec that would have the proper 1280 X 720 ratio. Turns out  "HDV 720p 30fps" does, so now I've been converting to that. Looks fine in Final Cut - proper picture and sound.
I've been playing around a bit more and see now that I can create a custom setting using "Apple Intermediate Codec". I've tried it and it works too.
So after all this, my question: Should I be using that codec instead? Or does it really matter what codec I use for editing? Is the only real issue what codec I decide to use to output?
And while I'm at it: Does anybody have ideas why trying to create a custom setting with ProRes 422 (HQ) does not work - for my purposes at least.
I must admit this converting codecs is pretty new to me. Hopefully with time this experience will get easier and clearer.
    John

Setting a Compressor ProRes Custom Setting:
    1) Pick Apple ProRes 422...
    2) Drag the PreRes 422 setting to the Bach Window. You can only make a custom setting from the Batch Window...
    3) Select enable for the audio. Click on setting to make sure it is set right. Uncheck Allow Job Segmenting... Make sure Streaming is set to none*....
    4) Select the Geomenty tab... Pick Custom (16:9):
    5) Click Save As and name your custom setting...
    6) You new custom setting will show up in the Custum folder for later use:
Another thing you can do is make Droplet of this custom setting. Menu... File... Create Droplet... Save the Droplet into a folder somewhere on your computer.
A Droplet will start the transcoding automatically. Drag the Droplet onto a video icon and let it do it's job.
    * ProRes doesn't need the Fast Start setting. If this is set it will take almost twice as long to do the encoding. Same with Allow Job Segmenting using Qmaster.
I did the above on the fly and hope everything is clear for you to understand.

Another option could be to use XML/BI Publisher - again, you will need to check if your license includes distributing custom reports.

  • How can i add custom art to playlist cover on iPad/iPhone/iPod?

I make a lot of custom playlists, with songs from multiple albums and sometimes multiple artists in one playlist.
Most are created on my Macbook Pro OS 10.6.8 (iTunes 10.6.1) and manually copied over to the devices- i don't automatically synch because my music libary is too big and complex. IE, iTunes is set to Manually Manage Music for these devices.
On my i-devices (primarily iPad 2 and iPhone 4), the playlists show up without art work for the playlist, just a generic picture of a musical note, even tho on the source Macbook the songs have cover art.  I find this actually dangerous for use in my car, because it forces me to read the playlist titles. Just glancing at pictures would be much safer, quicker, and easier. But i can't find a way to make all the playlists show cover art.
Playlists i create on the devices themselves DO show a tiled image of all the album covers for the art work.... which is fine. but i can't figure out a way to get playlists that are copied over from my Macbook to show art... and that's the main source of my playlists.
    help?
i have too many devices -there's also an older iPod Touch i use in addition to the iPad and iPhone- and too many playlists to create each playlist on each device from scratch so that it shows artwork.
    Anyone have suggestions?
(btw, if solution involves upgrading to Lion, i can't; i have software i have to use that doesn't work in Lion).

ps iPad 2 is iOS 5.1

  • Can you use a custom cursor with drag and drop?

Hi there! I'm a newbie flash user and working on a simulation for a graduate course in instructional design. I'm using Flash Professional CC on Mac. Here's what I'm trying to do. I have several draggable sprites on the stage and three target sprites. I have specified the original x,y locations of the sprites and have set the end x,y locations as those of each of the three targets. Items must be dragged to one of the three targets.
    Some questions:
    1. Can I specify more than one End x,y location for a draggable sprite? I'm creating a lesson to teach kindergartners how to sort lunchroom waste. If they have a napkin, for example, it could either go into the compost OR into the recycling. In cases like this where an item could really be placed into more than one bin, I want them to get it right if they do either of those things, rather than forcing them to choose which one.
    2. To make my project more "fun" for kids, I wanted to customize the cursor with a graphic of  hand. When I tried this in the flash file it works perfectly until I add the drag and drop functionality for the wasted items. Then the cursor will more around  but not pick up any items. Once I revert back to the standard pointer, the correct drag and drop functionality is restored.
    3. I have it set to snap back to the original location if learner attempts to drop the item on the wrong target. I want to be able to play a sound file when that happens, as well as play a sound file when it lands on the correct target, as well as shrink the item and change its opacity so that it appears invisible. I want to give the illusion of it being placed into the bin. I have no idea as to the proper way to code these events so that they happen.
    4. I've watched dozens of hours of youtube tutorials before coming here. I'm a quick study, but am very new to action script. In one of the videos the developer showed referencing an external action script file which I don't think is an option in CC. The coding method he used seemed much more streamlined and "clean" than the chunks I'm working with now. Is there an easy way for me to code information about these objects  than the way I've got it here now? I hate starting new things with bad habits. The perils of self-teaching.
    Thanks!
I'm pasting my code from the actions panel below so you can see what's going on:

    Some questions:
    1. Can I specify more than one End x,y location for a draggable sprite?
    yes, use an if-else statement
I'm creating a lesson to teach kindergartners how to sort lunchroom waste. If they have a napkin, for example, it could either go into the compost OR into the recycling. In cases like this where an item could really be placed into more than one bin, I want them to get it right if they do either of those things, rather than forcing them to choose which one.
    2. To make my project more "fun" for kids, I wanted to customize the cursor with a graphic of  hand. When I tried this in the flash file it works perfectly until I add the drag and drop functionality for the wasted items. Then the cursor will more around  but not pick up any items. Once I revert back to the standard pointer, the correct drag and drop functionality is restored.
assign your cursor's mouseEnabled property to false:
    yourcursor.mouseEnabled=false;
I have no idea as to the proper way to code these events so that they happen.
use the sound class to create a sound:
// initialize your correct sound once with
var correctSound:Sound=new CorrectSound();  // add an mp3 sound to your library and assign it class = CorrectSound
// apply the play() method everytime you want your sound to play:
    correctSound.play();
    // change an object's opacity:
    someobject.alpha = .3;  // partially visible
    someobject.alpha = 1;  // fully visible
someobject.visible=false;  // not visible, at all.
    // change an object's scale
someobject.scaleX=someobject.scaleY=.5;  // shink width and height by 2
    someobject.scaleX=someobject.scaleY=1;  // resize to original
The perils of self-teaching.
    you could google:
    actionscript 3 class coding
    actionscript 3 object oriented programming
p.s.  you can simplify and streamline your coding by learning about arrays and using hitTestObject.
