Can I do the following in PhotoShop?

I wonder if someone can answer a question for me. I would like to be able to open an image in PS, define vectors around a section of the image, and then using the nodes and handles of the vectors, distort (or rather change the shape) of the selected area. I have seen video tutorials that indicate that you can select an area and using a grid you can modify a section of an image but it would appear from the demo that a 9 square grid is created and that you can only deform the selected area via dragging grid cross points. This will not give me enough control over the shape. Either I would need to be able to increase (or decrease) the number of squares in the grid, or, preferably, I would like to be able to do away with the grid completely and just use the vectors which I have defined.
Is this possible? If so which version of PS would I need in order to do this? Illustrator is not an option as I cannot vecorize my image as that would change the image dramatically.

Thank you for the reply stevent, its interesting that the sales person I spoke to at Adobe said that this was possible, they even said that you could do this in Elements 6 but when I downloaded Elements I found that they were, not surprisingly, wrong.

how can we remove the following zeros from quantity field while populating ALV by using FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY ?
eg:getting output zqty = 2.000
but i need           zqty = 2.
help me to reslove this issue.

While populating the field catlog do the following thing to   avoid zeros.
wa_fieldcat-tabname = 'I_OUTPUT'.    " Curr
wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'FWAER'.
wa_fieldcat-seltext_l = text-023.
wa_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'.
APPEND wa_fieldcat TO i_fieldcat.
CLEAR wa_fieldcat.

I installed Lion 10.7.4. Went to use Photoshop Cs and got a popup window. You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there a way of getting this to work or do I have to get the all new!

Welcome to Apple Communities
PowerPC applications are unsupported in newer versions. You can upgrade Photoshop or you can install Snow Leopard in a partition.
1. Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and select your drive
2. Go to Partitions tab, press + button, create a new partition and press Apply
3. Insert the Snow Leopard install DVD and reboot pressing C key
4. Install it in the new partition
5. If you want to change boot, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select 10.7

Hi all,
I have installed Adobe cs5 and all the other programs (indesign etc etc) work but when I try to open photoshop it says:
"You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CS5.app because it may be damaged or incomplete"
I am a noob, I first installed it but it was in polish, couldn't work out how to change the language but entered into the program without problems so I deleted, redownloaded and reinstalled and it said the above. I deleted, redownloaded and reinstalled again but it didn't help.
What else can I do? again, I am a noob to all of this (and Macs) so Idiots Guide to Fixing your Photoshop CS5" Would be fantastic!!

Chelsea,
Your big (as in HUGE) mistake was in deleting the application instead of using the Adobe uninstaller.
Look for the CS5Clean script at the Adobe site, download it and run it according to the instrructions.

Just updated to OS X 10.8.5 - and got "You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CC..."

The full message is "You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CC because it's not supported on this type of Mac." - why ?
I notice people had the issue back in June, but this after the new point update for Photoshop CC - the update was OK but I can't access the program and it's regularly used.

It's OK now - but seems that it was tied in with the .5 OS X update for any future reference !!!!

As a student you are probably eligible for a student license. Adobe sells many of its products with a significant discount for students and staff of education facilities. You should either ask someone from the IT department of your school about it, or call Adobe directly.

You didn't write over 150 lines of code and then start testing it, did you?
Don't.
Take baby steps. Write as little as pssiblem test that. Debug and test again until you have something that does exactly what you want it to do.
When you have somehting that works perfectly, take one baby step. Add a tiny amount of code, maybe 1 or 2 lines more, and test again.
When you do get an error, or wrong results, you'll have a much better idea of where the problem is. also, you won't be building code on a flimsy foundation.
If you need help, post the last working version and the new version with the error. Explain what you're trying to do in the new version.
The error message indicates line 133. It looks like line 133 of your code is blank. Does your front end allow completely blank lines in the middle of a query? SQL*Plus doesn't by default; you have to say
SET SQLBLANKLINES ONto have a completely blank line in SQL*Plus. (However, lines containing nothing but at commnet are always allowed.)
You may have noticed that this site normally doesn't display multiple spaces in a row.
Whenever you post formatted text (such as indented code) on this site, type these 6 characters:
\(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after each section of formatted text, to preserve spacing.
The 4 people who posted small code fragments for you to read all did this. It would be so much easier for people to read your humongeous query if it were formatted.

thru this, we retrieving all the products delivered by the supplier.

maybe if you can post some sample data and output will help us understand what you want to achieve.

According to Wikipedia, 4 years ago you would most likely have bought Photoshop CS5.
You can download Photoshop CS5 from Adobe. Start here:
Download CS5 products
You'll need your serial number to activate it. If you don't have that, you can likely find it on Adobe's main web site after you've logged-in with your Adobe ID. See the Find your serial number quickly link to pursue that.
