Can I download an old version of iTunes?

I have an old iPod Touch, 2nd generation.  I have a new computer that does not have iTunes loaded yet.  Will the latest and greatest version of iTunes work with my old Touch or can I download a more compatible version?

Yes, it will.

I can't download the new version of iTunes.  Halfway through the installation a pop up window appears saying, "There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program run as a part of a set up did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

Got exact same problem, was told to delete all old apple, quick time and bonjoir from computer then it would work. I use a programme called malware bytes and this takes everthing out of your computer right down to the roots but unfortunately I still have same problem

  • Where can I download an earlier version of iTunes

Where can I download an earlier version of iTunes for a mac. I have seen the suggestion for oldapps but that just wants to install another program and although it has earlier versions for windows there isn't any for a mac.

The official download site is this one:
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/#itunes
Any other site is an illegal host and risky as well since you have no way of knowing what sort of adware or malware could be bundled in the installer.

  • Where can I download a new version of iTunes for my Mac?

Where can I download a newer version of iTunes for my PowerBook? Please help thank you!

Ummm I'm not really sure to be honest here,But let me give you some backround of what happened. Basically my sister took my iPod touch (3rd generation I believe it is) and restored and updated the condition of it and made it up to date. When I tried to plug it in my PowerBook the iTunes thing came up and it said "the iPod cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later" and yeah that's all I got for you.

  • Can i download the old version of iPhoto?

can i download the old version of iPhoto?

No.  To go back to a previous version, i.e. iPhoto 8 from current iPhoto 9,  you'd have to reinstall iPhoto from your backup or Time Machine or the disks that came with your Mac (unless your Mac is a new one that came with Lion preinstalled).
What version do you have running now and what version do you want to revert to?  Why?
If you do revert to an earlier version you'll need to follow these instructions from iPhoto Library Manager website to convert the library back to the new version: Fat Cat Software - iPhoto Library Manager Help - Downgrading a library to an earlier version of iPhoto .  Otherwise the older iPhoto will not open your library

  • How can i get the old version of iTunes

how can i get the old version of iTunes back

You cannot unless you have a full TM or clone backup which you could use to erase your drive and reinstall the earlier version (that would be for your computer, not an iDevice).

  • I have an old Mac laptop that Apple no longer supports -- so, I can't download the latest version of iTunes. Also, I got a new iPhone that won't communicate with my old version of iTunes. How do I transfer my music from my laptop to my new phone?

Old version of iTunes on laptop won't transfer music to my new iPhone.

Your profile shows you are running Lion (10.7.5). If this is the case, you certainly can sync with a new iPhone. If you are not running Lion, you will need to upgrade to at least Snow Leopard (10.6.8). See below to purchase.

  • Can't download the newest version of itunes

I am having issues on installing the latest version of itunes. Keep getting the error screen.  I have a iphone 5c and when I connect to my computer it says I need to update this version to be able to get my music off itunes. Frustrated! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What error screen are you getting, and how are you trying to download the update, within iTunes or via a browser ?
You should be able to download the latest version of iTunes on your computer within iTunes :
On a Mac in iTunes : iTunes > Check For Updates
On a PC : Help > Check For Updates
Or you can download the current version of iTunes from here : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Have you tried downloading the update via a different browser ?

  • Can't download 11.1 version of itunes.

I can't download the latest version 11.1 of itunes.  It also states that I need to connect to a server.  We recently put in a new modem, so I don't know if this is the probelm.  I am able to use wifi on my computer.

Are you running OS X 10.5.8 as your post footer suggests ?. iTunes 11.1 requires 10.6.8 or later.
You Can likely upgrade to that by buying it : Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store  although check the requirements first, and backup, in case things don't work as expected.

  • HT4432 i can't download the updated version of itunes

i can't download the updated version of itunes

I may have had the same issue, maybe!  I was prompted to update my iTunes.  I did, like I usually do when I am prompted.  Never had a problem until now.  It would not complete the install.  My computer froze and I had to hard boot it.  That was a couple of days ago.  Now when I try to run iTunes, it tells me that the file is corrupted or not installed correctly.  So I go the the apple website and downloard itunes.  It won't install since it says that a newer version is already installed.
Help. I can't get anything to work.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Can I download an older version of iTunes?

    Here is my situation:
I had iTunes running fine on my machine under Windows7 64bit, that is until I had a hard drive failure and needed to reinstall. I was running iTunes version 8.2, and was able to backup my iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml files, along with all of my music.
I have reinstalled Windows7 64bit and have downloaded iTunes and installed it, but when I place my old .itl and .xml files into the folder, it tells me I have an invalid library and it scraps it and builds a new one. Is this because the new iTunes version is now 8.2.1? I can see in the xml file where it identifies itself as version 8.2. Is there someplace I can go to download the older version and try again?
Is there something I am doing wrong, or a different approach I should take?
    Thanks,
    -David

You should be able to recreate your library using the backed up xml file, see here for instructions:
