Can i download and play lineage 2 on my macbook pro?
I know many people who have played on their macs when they needed to (not their first preference, but when nothing else is available...) and i was just wondering if/how it's possible to do that? I can't seem to get it to work.
From the Lineage 2 sysregs:
http://www.lineage2.com/guide/systemneeds.html
it's a Windows-only program; no Mac version available. You'd need to get a Windows install disk and use Boot Camp that came swith your computer t partition your hard drive and then install windows there.
For help with understanding and using Boot Camp, you can ask in the Boot Camp forums here:

I can not download and play HD rented movies through my TV2
My Problem:
I can not download and play HD rented movies through my TV2
and get the following message "an error occurred loading this content. Try again later"
Do others have the same problem of not being able to play rented HD?
All my other activities are normal. I can play Standard Def rentals, Movie Previews, HD MLB, and all else as necessary except HD rentals
I have a 13.5 Mbps connection.
I have gone through ALL of the expected procedures. Changed the cable, did a reset, did a restore.
This has happened with two TV2's as I replaced the first one due to the "unable to update issues"
The current TV2 now has the current up to date software since that issue has been resolved for all.
Any answers???
Location Melbourne Australia. This is a new TV2. Actually my second. First bought less than 2 weeks ago. it was returned to the store and replaced because of the issue of not being able to update the TV2 software from 4.1.1 to 4.2.2.
Both machines had that same problem, and both could not play the rented HD movies.
The second TV2 has sicne been able to update to 4.2.2 when everyone else who had that problem went away this last weekend. So I have gone from 4.1.1 on two machines and no HD rentals to the current one updated to 4.2.2 and still no HD rentals.
The Standard def comes in fine and no real delay. And IF the movie previews are HD (when it is turned on in settings) then I have had NO problems viewing them.
I also have NO problem viewing HD MLB games on the TV2 -

If I have purchased an app on my iphone. can i download the app to use on my macbook pro without paying for it again?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
iOS apps are different than Mac apps, so you can't use a iOS app on a Mac. You have to purchase that app in the Mac App Store in order to use it with the Mac. They are different operating systems and require different apps -

After months of failed attempts, I finally got mountain lion loaded on my macbook pro. Shortly thereafter I received an email saying my id had been used to access icloud. During the setup process, I unchecked the icloud box so I am not sure whether this is normal or has someone else using icloud with my id. I am pretty sure that I did not select iclout for set up.
Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.

I just downloaded and installed mountain lion but it kept snow leopard on my screen is that supposed to happen or did i miss something?
Then you're good to go. Updating your OS doesnt change your desktop background, you can do that manually, if you wish.

Can't erase and install SNow Leopard on old MacBook Pro
I am trying to erase and install Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro3,1. I boot up with the installation disc, get to pick a language but then a window pops up that says "Mac OS X can't be installed on this computer" and gives me the options to Restore from Backup or Restart.
I had upgraded to a 500GB hard drive on this machine which I used for months, but it is currently running off the hard drive of a new MacBook Pro that got fried. The installation disk I am using is the one I got with that unfortunate machine. Could this be the problem?
Any other suggestions?
Other info: Mac OS X 10.6.1 (108504)
Other History: The machine I am trying to erase and install on recently had its logic board replaced under warranty because of the NVIDIA graphics card issue. I have not found the service centre in South Africa to be very trustworthy, in fact the first time they claimed to have replaced the logic board, the computer (which had been intermittently failing to boot up) immediately started displaying the same problems. Another mac shop said to me that the "new" logic board looked so dusty that it seemed extremely unlikely that it had been replaced a week prior. Anyway, it has ostensibly been replaced again, along with a faulty superdrive.
When it went back to the service centre, they put in the hard drive of another, new, MacBook Pro of mine that got fried in an unrelated incident
Please help! I want to give this machine to an employee but
a) want to make sure it's stable and functioning properly, and
b) want to give it a clean slate with my personal data and settings erased. You need a retail Snow Leopard installation disk. Available for $29 USD. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MACOS_XSNGL
Once you install it onto the old machine, you can use the setup assistant to migrate your stuff and apps from the other machine. -
I'm planning to use my macbook pro to record music, but some of the programs I will be using are only compatible with Windows. I was told that it was possible to install & run windows XP onto my macbook pro by using Bootcamp. I just don't know how fullproof or problematic this might be, or if it has even been successfully attempted yet. Please help!
Thx, KYou can use XP with 10.7.x by installing XP when the Mac is operating from OS X 10.6.8. It can then be up graded to 10.7.x. Below I have reproduced the "Hatter " method instructions that I have used successfully. If your MBP cannot boot from and install 10.6.8 then it is a no go situation.
Upgrade 10.6.8 to 10.7 or 10.8
Use a maintenance utility like Yasu or Cocktail to prepare existing internal Mac OSX HDD.
Clone the internal Mac partition to an external HDD with SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner.
Restart from the cloned external HDD and select it as the startup volume via System Preferences / Startup Disk.
Install 10.7 or 10.8 on the cloned external HDD replacing 10.6.8 or 10.7.x.
Install 10.7.x or 10.8.x updates on the external HDD
Restart the updated 10.7.x or 10.8.x external HDD and test and adjust the preferences if needed.
When satisfied, clone only the 10.7.x or 10.8.x external HDD back to the existing internal Mac HDD replacing 10.6.8 or 10.7.x but don't include the recovery partition.
The Boot Camp partition will not be altered as to drive id which appeared to cause problems for a few people.
The recovery partition will be on the ext HDD and can be used for trouble shooting. A more convenient way to have the recovery/reinstallation environment is to create a Lion install USB thumb drive. -

What devices can i download and play itunes with
My daughter inherited a very old laptop of mine, which is barely working. All she essentially wants it for is to play her itunes through. I want to buy her a new device but do not want to buy an actual laptop, as they are pretty expensive. Ideally, I'd like to spend less than $200. What devices can she play itunes through, besides her phone and ipod. Any suggestions for what I could buy in my price range. I was considering a chromebook but don't think that itunes supports that. Also, was considering a kindle...but i don't know if that's supported either.
Hi Stacy,
The requirements for running iTunes on a computer can be found here -
Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
For a PC those requirements are -
PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor and 512MB of RAM
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
For a Mac -
Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
As a Chromebook fits neither of these using it would not be supported. iTunes is also not supported on a Kindle.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Best,

Can't download and install an update on my macbook
Hello,
I just had my hard drive die on my old MacBook from 2006. It has Snow Leopard and after installing everything again from an external hard drive and the most recent back up from Time Machine, I can't open my iTunes as it says that my Version10.6.4 is too old for the iTunes. But it's the same iTunes I had before.
I have tried to do a new software update, but it keeps failing and saying there is a Network error. But my Network connection seems to be fine.
Any ideas?
ThanksJust update iTunes:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Note the information there says the requirements for iTunes 11.3 are:
Macintosh System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
