Can I download iPhoto 11 without Lion?

I have not upgraded to Lion, not sure I want to, but would like to upgrade to iPhoto 11. Does anyone know how I can do this? When I try to access the Mac app store, the browser goes nowhere. Any help would be appreciated.

No, Lion 10.7.4 is the minimum OS required.
The minimum version of OS X to include the Mac App Store app is OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6. The Mac App Store is not available as a website with a browser.

This is not difficult and you will not have to download from the app store.
your computer has what is called a recovery partition that came with it.
simply hold cmd+R while you boot up. let go a second after you hear the chime.
you will boot into the recovery partition.
Use disk utlity to format your usb drive and then exit Disk utlity and go to Reinstall Mountain Lion.
it will ask you which disk you want to install ML onto. Choose your new USB drive.

You can upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion from Mac OS X Snow Leopard or OS X Lion, so you can install Mountain Lion without having OS X Lion.
Just open App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion. If you aren't using Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you have to buy it. Don't forget to make a backup with Time Machine and/or Carbon Copy Cloner before upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion. Also, check if your apps are supported > http://www.roaringapps.com

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. It's probably the library that's the prolem and not the application. Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create and open a new library then your existing library is damaged.
If that's the case, Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

You must reinstall from the original source - either
1 - the restore disks that came with your computer
or
2 - the iLife DVD you purchased
or
3 - the App store under purchases when you log in using the Apple ID it was acquired with

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

Thanks, that now makes sense. Once an item enters the download queue, the user cannot remove it. Either let it complete the download (easiest) or contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the Contact page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) and ask them if they'll remove the item(s) from your queue for you.

If it came with 9.x.x you can log into the App store using the Apple ID that was used to set up the computer and install form the purchases list - if it came with an older version (iPhoto '09 ore ear;tier) then you must purchase an iLife '11 DVD from eBay or amazon and install iphoto '11 from it then update to 9.5

Hi Larry, I had upgraded to OS X 10.10 but had too many problems so I returned to OS X10.9.5.
I can't tell what version of iPhoto I have but when I try to open I get error message:
You can't use this version of the application "iPhoto" with this version of OS X
You have OS 10.9.5. The application requires OS 10.10 or later."
I don't want OS10.10, too many problems, so I need a version of iPhoto that will work with OS X 10.9.5. So far it looks like iPhoto is the only app that has this problem.

If your computer shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, it'll have come with a DVD. If needed, phone Apple and order a replacement.
Unless you got Mac OS X Server with it, which is highly unlikely for a portable computer, that DVD will contain iLife.
