How do I download courses from itunes university to my ipod? The courses appear on the sidebar on my pc, but when i sync it doesn't show on my ipod.

What model iPod do you have? If it's compatible, there should be an iTunes U tab for your iPod in iTunes when you have it plugged in alongside of all of its other tabs (such as Music, Movies, Photos, etc). Enable the syncing of iTunes U content on this tab.
Then on your iPod navigate to Music -> Playlists -> iTunes U to play them.

Thank you for your suggestion. For a number of reasons I choose not to upgrade to iTunes 6.3. As this G4 is running slow (it's over eleven years old) I have made a decision to avoid any software upgrades on my 'legacy' applications.Not only will any new software strain the resources of the G4, but I do not think it a good idea to put a lot of features into my machine that it is not capable of utilizing. The iPod touch (I have been prompted by iTunes) will communicate with my G4 if I have iTunes 10.1. That is the solution I continue to seek.
As far as the iTunes Store goes, I do not use it. One reason is that my iPod touch cannot run many of the new Apps (I'm also unable to find legacy Apps, though I haven't tried lately) and I'm not going to run out and buy a new device from Apple so I can. I just don't care enough.

Can't download itunes/ipod updater

I already posted a couple of months ago, but got no response. I've been putting the problem off, but it is extremely annoying.
I'm running Windows XP. My internet settings are ALL set to default. I can't download iTunes or the iPod Updater. I get this error message: "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." I've searched google, these discussion boards, and other discussion websites. I've posted on a couple of them as well, but kept getting the same response- set everything to default and make sure downloads are enabled. Been there, done that! That is NOT the solution, although it seems to have helped many others.
I browsed through the other topics on this thread, but they all seem to be different variations on the same problem. So I figured I'd be better off posting my own than trying to adapt to their problems.
Any suggestions??

if so, why not download and save to the hard drive the two installer packages (and a QT 7 standalone installer, while you're at it). burn them to a CD-R, carry them back to your PC and copy them across to your hard drive.

I can't download itunes 10.3.1 for Windows 7 64 bit.
I tried the suggestion to delete existing iTunes before installing the updated version.
I receive a message that a file is in use when I try to delete iPOD.
I started Task Manager to stop services for iTunes as suggested but it is not listed.
How do I install iTunes 10.3.1 for Windows 7 - 64 bit?

I got the same message about the network resource that I can't access. The only difference is that I couldn't install Itunes 10.3 because I can't remove the old version of Bonjour. I couldn't get rid of anything in add/remove programs, but I went into my program folders and deleted everything that had to do with Itunes. I also ran a Windows Cleanup Utiltiy. Nothing will work. I still can't remove Itunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, MobileMe Control Panel, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, or Apple Software Update in add/remove programs because they are on a network resource that I can't access even though I deleted them from the program folders. This is very frustrating!

It will allow me transfer purchased songs but not songs I had that were downloaded off of my CD's. Where do I access that library and how do i get it back on iTunes? It basically copied all my itunes files from my C drive onto ipod in my efforts to move the library.

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:

Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.

I just got an ipod with video. I have had no problems downloading music from Limewire to itunes and then onto my ipod. I can download a music video from Limewire and drag it to itunes, but it won't download onto my ipod. No, you can't. You may be able to get compatible application versions by downloading the current ones to a computer, signing into the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID on the device, and trying to download them there.
