can i download apps on my first generation ipod touch?

Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

    Why i can't download Mavericks if i have a macbook a1181 2008 with Lion 10.7.5?

A1181 refers to the generation of white and black thermoplastic MacBooks originally introduced in 2006 and produced through mid 2008.
None of those models meet the minimum system requirements for Mavericks.

Also, I had to install the software twice on my same computer before because I had to reboot the computer. I don't know if this affects the limit.

You are allowed to have two activated installations so there should not be a problem having working installations on the two machines.  If by chance you have somehow tied up two activations for the one machine you can have Adobe support help resolve that thru chat.

  • Mavericks on first generation macbook air ?

I hope that OSX Mavericks will work on my first generation Macbook Air.
At the moment I am stuck with an unsatisfying OSX Lion on a great machine. Or left with the choice to go back to 10.6.8. again. Any hope for me ?

As far as I know Mountain Lion does not run on the first generation Macbook Air.

What is a error message and what do you see when it appears?
Haven't much problem with Airs around here, since they have a SSD they tend to be more reliable.
Perhaps it was a bad update, have you ran through this list of possible fixes?
Do as many as possible, starting with #1. Until the problem is resolved.
Use the boot 10.6 USB instead of the disk of course.

    Where do I get this?
It was only released a couple of months ago.
I really feel disinfranchised already by not being able to upgrade and keep up with other software needs but to not allow me to update to my full capacity is really ridiculous.

Trouble with slow Macbook Air. I have first generation MacBook Air and have a hard time keeping hard drive from being full. After trashing many docs, I have almost 5 gigs available, but mac is slow and I keep getting color wheel when I use Mail. I'd like to install Lion, but now I'm afraid it will slow down my machine even further. Do I have enough free hard disc space? Is Mail problem related to free hard disc space? Thanks for your help!

7gb of free disc space is required to install Lion.  Read this about how to free up disc space: http://pondini.org/OSX/DiskSpace.html.  Also, advice on how to speed up your mac: http://www.maclife.com/article/feature/25_ways_speed_your_mac

  • HT201250 First generation MacBook Air slow on Lion OS

My macbook air 2GB 667Mhz DDR2 1.8GHz intel core 2 duo was just upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7. It was Ok for a while but now its slow. i found out that it uses up to 1.9GB of CPU memory to process requests. do i downgrade to 10.6 or install updates? i really need help with this cos i cant really do anything without the beach ball rolling. This is my first mac xperience....

How many GB's of RAM does your Macbook Air have installed?  You can click on the upper left hand Apple Icon in the Menu Bar>select "About This Mac">and read the line about "Memory" installed:
Lion 10.7 is more Memory intensive than previous versions of OS X and really needs at least 4 GB's of RAM minimum in order to have any system speed.
    Hope this helps

  • If I purchase Numbers on my iMac, can I download it for free on my MacBook Air?

I've recently purchased Numbers on my iMac but my MacBook Air shows a price of $20.99 to download it again. I'm using the same iTunes account. The same with Pages.

Thanks Niel. But it's still showing as $20.99. The MacBook Air is running Mavericks, the iMac is running 10.8.5 but this shouldn't make any difference really?

  • Is it possible to download Microsoft Internet Explorer to my MacBook Air?

I have several different sites that I have to use for my job.  However, one of the sites is not supported by Mac, Safari or Firefox.  It is only supported by Internet Explorer.  Can I download Microsoft Internet Explorer to my MacBook Air?  And, if so, how do I do that?

There is another much more simple option than what JasonFear is offering.
First in Safari open Preferences - Advanced and click Show Develop Menu in Menu Bar. The click the Develop menu - User Agent - and choose the version of Internet Explorer you want. This will allow Safari to open IE developed websites.
Great suggestion, rkaufman. I forgot all about that option. I'll be curious to see if that works for the OP my experiences with that "simulation mode" haven't been very successful.

  • How do I download IOS5 onto a first generation ipad? Software Update does not appear under General in Settings on the 1st generation.

How do I download IOS5 onto a first generation ipad?  Software Update does not appear under General in Settings on the first generation ipad.

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

  • I cant download apps on my first generation ipod

i cant download apps on my first generation ipod touch. it keeps saying update required iOS 4.0

Your 1G iPod Touch cannot be upgraded past iOS 3.1.3.   Many apps that are available in the App Store not require a higher version of iOS (such as iOS 4) in order to be compatible with your device. So if an app requires a higher version of iOS than what is supported by your iPod Touch, you will not be able to sync or download that app to your device.  Sorry.

  • Where can I download Mavericks?

    Hi guys,
Well, lately I have been thinking in upgrading my MacBook Pro mid 2009. I was trying to decide between Mt. Lion and Mavericks, do not know which are the major  differences between these two. But the later is free .
I have already tried the AppStore and obviously did not find it there as Yosemite is the new thing, I also tried the Up-to-Date Program but it says they have nothing for my system.
I don't want Yosemite mainly because I have read so many reviews about how bad it is and that still has many bugs.Plus the performance is slower than the other OS, and considering that I do not have a new mac I believe Mavericks would do the job for me.
I use this mac as my main laptop which is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and would like to download Mavericks and create a new partition for Mavericks and used for programming as SL does't convince me for that purpose. I use CodeBlocks because Eclipse wouldn't get installed as it needs Mt. Lion.
So, is there any way I can still download Mavericks?
Is an mid 2009 MBP running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with 8 gb of RAM and a solid state drive.
In advance, thank you for your help.

Unless you downloaded the full Mavericks installer before Yosemite came out, you can't get it. If you did, log into the Mac App Store with the Apple ID you used and click on the Purchases tab.
