Can I dump some of these plug-ins?

Hello, and good day. I have been on a quest to speed up Safari, as it had been bogged down. I used many great tips on forums and have had lots of success.
I wanted to take a look at my plug-ins to see if there are any unnecessary ones, or any that I am missing out on. I have tried to get the latest for all.
Here is what I've got:
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Cortona Plug-in
DRM Plugin.bundle
Flash Player Enabler.plugin
Flash Player.plugin
flashplayer.xpt
Flip4Mac WMV Plugin.plugin
Flip4Mac WMV Plugin.webplugin
Java Applet Plugin Enabler
Java Applet.plugin
JavaPluginCocoa.bundle
NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave
NPSVG3.zip
NPSVG3Carbon
NPSVG3ReadMe.html
nslQTScriptablePlugin.xpt
Quartz Composer.webplugin
QuickTime Plugin.plugin
QuickTime Plugin.webplugin
RealPlayer Plugin
RealPlayer Plugin.xpt
VerifiedDownloadPlugin.plugin
I typed these to the "T" ... Yes, yes, yes I realise that NPSVG3ReadMe.html
probably shouldn't be there. I honestly don't know how it got there. This list is in the Home Directory>Library>Internet Plug-ins
Any and all info, including how I might extract text from a finder list so as not to have to type it out like I did would be great.
Thank you,
Ian

The only ones I question are Cortona Plug-in and the NPSVG3 plugins.

    Hi
You may need to run Logic in 32bit mode to get the AudioUnit Manager to scan the new plugins?

Why do iPhones/iPad not support Flash Player/Java and what are my alternatives for browsing sites using these plug-ins?

There are also iSwifter, Photon, Skyfire, etc., some only support Flash some support Java and Flash.
Adobe never made a version of Flash for iOS and closed their mobile flash division a couple of years ago. You can get Flash on other personal devices but you will be using a 2 year old version that has not been patched for security vulnerabilities.
When the original iPhone was released Mr. Jobs said it would never run Java as it was old technology and a security risk. Nothing has changed since.

  • Am I correct that Photos does not support external editors? i.e., in Aperture, I click Photos Edit with.... and can open in Photoshop or various plug-ins. Changes are then automatically saved back to Aperture. Nonexistent in Photos?

Thanks Larry. That certainly gives me some understanding. Can't imagine I'm the only Aperture user with that concern, so I certainly hope Adobe and others will fill the void. Without that feature, Photos is pretty much a non-started for me.

Hi, I have recently downloaded a trial version of Ps CC (I am still using Ps CS6). All my presets have migrated very nicely to the CC version from the CS6 one. However, I can't find any of the plug-ins which I have in CS6, such as Imagenomic Noiseware, Google NIK Collection, etc. in the CC version. How do I "migrate" the plug-ins to Ps CC? I would appreciate some help with this. Thanks

Plug-Ins are not Presets.  You need to install Plug-in into CC just like you had to install Plug-ins into CS6.

  • Compressor Audio plug-ins (can you add third party audio plug-ins?)

    Compressor Audio plug-ins
Can you add third party audio plug-ins? Just need a simple audio compressing/mastering solution for a lot of non-technically minded producers. So trying to avoid using soundtrack.

    Hi B
Really sure You are looking into Your "user" folder ?
In this there is a folder with in my case "my account" eg "Bengt"
in this ther IS a library folder
and in this ther should be an iMovie folder. If not I would make one
and into this put a folder "Plug-ins" and in this put Your plug-ins.
Restart Your Mac and open iMovie and see if it found the new plug-ins.

Can I use 3rd party instruments/plug-ins/loops with Garageband '11 running OS X 10.6.8? and how do I install?

    10.6.8 won't run on a PowerPC Mac.
10.6.8 also won't run the latest Java.  Here's what version of Java you can run:

  • Can you import software instruments and plug-ins  from Logic Pro to GB

    Hello,
I purchased Logic 7 Pro and I find it to be way too much for me. Is there a way to take the software instruments from Logic to GB? I am not even sure Logic comes with more software instruments than GB. Do they both rely on the Jam Packs for additional instruments.
Is there anything else GB can borrow from Logic. I know I can move the sound effects aif files and use them. Just wondering about other plug-ins and the like.
    Thanks!!
      Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Here's how you get past the static interruption.
Make your software track and ignore the static interruption. Its not being recorded into the midi information.
Then export the track out and reimport it to a new track. Do this twice. Your export/import WILL have static in it but since it was random your two tracks will not have the static in identical places.
Edit out the static in track one by replacing it with a static-less portion from track two. You'll now have a complete loop with no static interruption.
xs4sis. The cool thing about the demos is you don't have to program anything just use the presets. Who CAN program those **** synths anyway?
There are some demos that have a hundred presets to them. I love that!

  • How can I reset Firefox without losing plug ins,add-ons etc?

Firefox is slow to start. I have reset it but then have to redo plug ins, etc. Can I avoid this?

you can set up a sync account and choose to sync addons.
Wait some time (an hr or so? Not entirely sure), so all the information is synced to the server.
Then refresh firefox, and sign back into the synced account. This will bring back all the bookmarks, histories, passwords, and addons.

  • When I open Firefox, the Google screen comes on. Then I type the first letter of my search and up pops up possible searches. How can I delete some of these choices?

How can I block some of the past searches on Google when I start to type the first few letters of past searches?

If you want to remove saved form data from a drop down list then use these steps:
#Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
#Highlight an entry in the drop down list
#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

  • Can't find my third party plug-ins in the Audio Effect slot

I've moved my downloaded plug-ins into Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins, and in a new Finder Window dragged the VST file and Component file into it's respective Logic Pro X files folder(s). I still don't see them in the Audio Units slot for third party plug-ins. Can anyone help me troubleshoot? I'd much appreciate! Thanks.
    -Victor

Which plugin are you trying to use?
Is it a 64bit AU Plugin?
If it isn't then LPX cannot use it....
If it is.... Does it show up in the AU Manager as validated?
(LPX menu bar..... Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio Units Manager)

  • I can't get Nik or onOne Plug ins to work in CS5

I use Color Efex,Silver Efex Pro,on One Plug in Suite 5, and Snap Art Plug ins.  I can't get any of them to work in CS5.  I will try 32 bit mode but CS5 doesn't even list them in the available plug  ins.  I can use CS4 but what should I do?  Wait for the vendors to update their plugins or is Adobe going to give me a list of available plugin that work with CS5.  Maybe I'm doing something wrong in the installation process.  I copied all the plug ins to the CS5 plug in folder and I tried reinstalling the applications from their original CD.  Nothing works.

This is known. Please see: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/842/cpsid_84212.html for this specific issue. For more data on plug-in changes with Photoshop CS5, please see: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/828/cpsid_82824.html.

  • Can't Install CS5 Optional Extensions Plug-ins

I installed PS CS5. Works fine. But I've been trying to install the Optional Extensions Plug-ins so I can get the Twain plug-in, allowing me to scan in PS. The installer keeps saying "You do not have the appropriate permissions required to perform this operation. Contact your system administrator to obtain permission."
I'm the admin of my one computer.
    I've repaired Disk Permissions.
I've gone to many folders to make sure that everything has read/write permission.
I've spent a lot of time on the phone with Adobe who's stumped and say it's not their fault. They directed me to Apple who of course would charge me.
Anyone run into this? Any ideas?
    Thanks very much.

I was having the same issue. The remedy is to change the permissions on the application's folder.
Go to Applications, Select Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Get Info.
Unlock the settings, and under Sharing & Permissions, change every option to Read & Write. Select the little gear underneath and choose 'Apply to enclosed items'
Should fix your problem. I went through all the folders and checked to see if their permissions had changed too, just in case. I've had no further problems.

  • Logic pro 7 can't see my 3rd party plug-ins

I run Logic Pro 7 on an Intel Core Duo iMac and I have a few third party plug-ins (Waves NPP, Guitar Rig, Symphonic Orchestra) that I'd also like to use with logic, but it seems that logic can't find them - when I go to try and insert one on an audio channel they're just not there as an option to choose - I can only seethe plug-ins that come with logic as part of the bundle.
Any ideas how I can tell logic how to find them?
They all use to work fine when I ran Logic Express 6 on my old eMac.

Your Intel Mac runs Intel code. Before Intel Macs existed, all Macs had PPC processors, therefore all code was PPC code.
If you don't have UB versions of your software, your software is PPC code, therefore has to run in an emulation mode, which is much slower than native performance.
You should contact the manufacturers of your plugins to update to UB versions to run them on Intel Macs. Otherwise you have to run everything emulated (under "Rosetta"), which effectively means you're throwing away half (or more) of your available processor power.
