Can i duplicate a tab in safari?

Is there any way to duplicate or copy a tab in safari without opening in a new window?

You might try going to Preference>General>New Tabs Open With> Make sure this is 'Same page'.  This will cause what you are asking to do happen every time you create a new tab though.  It seems to still allow links to open new tabs appropriately.

  • How can I disable the tabs in safari on the ipad2

How can I disable the tabs on safari on my ipad2. I hate the tabs!!!

You can't, Safari on iOS 5 on the iPad uses tabbed browsing. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe in a future update we'll get the choice of tabs or thumbnail/paged browsing : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
In the meantime I think that the (free) Opera browser and the iCab Mobile browser in the app store offer thumbnail browsing to some degree.

  • Can't Close the Tabs in Safari

The X at the top right of each tab in Safari have dissappeared and I can't close individual tabs that I have open.
I would have to click FIle and then Close tab for each tab that is open. I like the other way better. What happened to it and how do I get the 'X' back? Thanks for your help!!
    p.s. I'm using a desktop

    Hello LexSchellings,
No there is no other icon besides the X to close the tab.
I don't think anyone installed any new software, extensions or plugin for safari. I share this computer with three other people so might be a possibility but I highly doubt it. I was trying to see if I can fix this issue by customizing my toolbar but there is no option for the tabs. Thank you for taking the time to help me with this!

  • Can I change active tab on Safari from Search tab to Address tab on iPad 2 ?

When I open a new tab in Safari its automatically puts you on search tab .. I want to disable this to makes the address tab is active when I start a new tab .. is it possible ?
Im using iPad 2 on OS 4.3.3

You need to create a backing bean that will hold code for the event of clicking on the link.
In that code you'll set the disclosed property of the showDetailItem you want to make active to true, and then change the other tab to false.
A basic intro to working with backing beans is here:

  • Can I duplicate current tab in a separate tab? I can do that in IE

In IE, right click the tab, there will be an option to "Duplicate Tab". Does Firefox have this feature ?

Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging the tab with your left mouse button, release mouse button when you see an arrow pointing between tabs. The same tab, with its history, will be duplicated on the tab bar. See (Tabs and Windows > Copy Tab): http://www.7is7.com/software/firefox/shortcuts.html

  • Just upgraded my ipad2.  can I switch off tabs in Safari?

just upgraded my ipad2 to ios5.  don't want tabs on inSafari, can I switch them off?

You may also want to look at other browsers in the App Store. One of them might be more to your liking. iCab Mobile has both tabs and an interface similar to the older version of Safari. Ironically, I switched to it months again because it offered tabbed browsing when Safari didn't.

  • I have an Iphone and a mini Ipad.  When I open Safari on my Iphone  I can see the open tabs that are open in my Ipad, but when I open Safari in my Ipad it tells me that I don,t have any open tabs in my other device, which is not correct.

What can be the problem that the Icloud tabs on Safari don,t appear from my Iphone in my Ipad?

Make sure you have inadvertently turned on private browsing on your phone.  It will not sync iCloud tabs if private browsing is turned on.  There are some other troubleshooting steps you can look through here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5372.

  • How can I duplicate an active tab in Firefox 5?

I cannot find the 'duplicate tab' feature in Firefox 5. I used this feature a lot in 3, and I hope that I can find out how to do it again. Or that I can downgrade to 3.

Firefox 4 later use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar.<br />
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button.<br />
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.<br />
Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.<br />
You can also copy a tab by holding down the Ctrl key and dragging the tab left or right on the tab bar.<br />
You can open the URL in the location bar if you use Alt+Enter.

... and, of course, if you have Lion and you leave the "resume" feature turned on, Safari will always start up in the state it was in when you quit it.

  • Can I turn off tab in the new Safari for ipad?

I want to turn off the tabs in the new Safari for my iPad 2. I have gone to the settings in Safari and can only select the types of tabs, why can't I turn tabs off?

You cannot turn the feature off. This is the way that Apple has now designed for it to work. If you would like to let Apple know how you feel about it, leave feedback here.

  • Duplicate Tab in Safari

I like Apple very much but I think is big fail if "Duplicate tab button" is missing in Safari.
It is no good way use CMD + L and after CMD + Enter, because history will be lost.
Second way through "Preferences->Gneral->New_tabs_open_with", which change "New tab" button to "Duplicate tab button" is no enough good too, because after this is missed pure "New tab" button.
I am developing websites many years and I usually use a lot of browsers. I want to prefer Apple solutions and Safari, but this feature is for me very important. Please Apple team for "Duplicate Tab" in Safari, I think is very necessary feature for many users, who use browser for professional work.
Many thanks for you products and your effort to improve products every day.

When I click "share" icon for Facebook, ensuing popup windw unstable. pops up then gone, cyclically, won't stop until I close originating tab/website.pop up blocker off & in safe mode. can't post FB unless use Safari. Mac OS 10.6.8. Tried to post pic wouldn't work

O.k. Thanks for the clarification. I poked around in my TimeCapsule router's settings (TimeCapsule is an Apple Airport Extreme router with attached hard drive for wireless backup/storage). Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can disable multicasting with the TimeCapsule. I can change the multicasting 'rate'. Settings are Low, Medium, High. It's currently set to Low.
I did a few web searches, and found an Apple.com article: <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3789?viewlocale=en_US> which explained how to disable Bonjour Service Advertisements. I believe this is the same thing as 'Multicasting'. The process is a modification of "/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist", and a restart of the Mac is required afterwards.
I'm a bit concerned that disabling multicasting will interfere with my AppleTVs and iTunes music sharing, but I may try it next time I'm up for a computer workout. This task will require editing of system preference files, could require multiple restarts, might interfere with my AppleTVs, could interfere with my iTunes file sharing, doesn't have a documented relationship to my problem.
This is way to difficult for something that should just work. Did you say you had read something about a relationship between this bonjour multicasting and smb connectivity? If it was online could you post the link?
I'm currently able to connect to the drive using NFS, but I have to manually configure that connection each time I reboot (can't get the 'Disk Utility' configured to do it automatically). While it's working with NFS, it's not my preferred connect method (for various reasons).

  • Why can't I open multiple tabs in safari on my I pad air

Why can't I open multiple tabs in safari on my I pad air

Don't know since we don't know that you are doing.
Are you tapping the blue + sign in the upper right corner of the Safari toolbar? That is what you do to open a new tab.
